It's more about details. Some scene felt a bit weird, minor students and teachers are omitted and the school is too "empty". after episode 3 only episode 7 that feature a lot of students.

majority of this site J-drama/movie fans can't handle such thing I guess. if the movie/drama is out of their preference or if they can't handle it=bad. don't expect movie/drama like this to reach higher than 7.5 unless it's critically acclaimed in the west such as Parasite/Confessions. I bet that most of them only watch it halfway trough and then skip to the ending.

agreed, this is a wrong thing to do as a father. but at the same time he's losing a lot of money (approx 20k-30k usd) for penalty due to him terminating his contracts with some brands/shows.

Something like Kobayashi cameo I guess. 5 episode left, i don't think that there's a room for her to appear in a more prominent role.

The most possible cameo for now is Ino-sensei, if one of the students didn't pass Todai and she will give (he/she) a career guidance.

it's not related because it is set in a different timeline/continuity. But the 1983 version is the core of the story.

Partially agree, but this guy is the worst as a (divorced) father by not paying his child's financial support. although I can feel his financial struggle due to him spend a lot of money to pay penalty clause in his contract with some brand/shows.

*SP2 relased one week after the movie premier, but it takes place before the third movie
*Yabe Kenzo 1 take place in between SP2 and Movie 3
