There is no shortcut in life, you made stupid mistakes, you have to pay the consequences

Ten Years is 24 episodes starring Gala Zhang and Zhang Ya Qin. The onscreen chemistry between the main CP is not good.

The entire ensemble is bad; the main CP and the supporting cast cannot act separately and together. It is a good lesson for young people to know that finding a shortcut to make a lot of money does backfire on you. In Wang Ran's case, she put herself in a stupid and non-compromise situation where she was raped because she was drunk and voluntarily came to the villain's house alone. How stupid was that? She had herself to blame.

I watched 11 episodes already, and I don't want to continue with it even though it is only 24 episodes with 30 minutes per episode. I give it a 4.5 rating because of the bad acting and the stupid plot.

Another boring and lengthy Xian Xia drama even it has awesome actor.

I am dropping The Longest Promise with Xiao Zhan and Ren Min after 10 episodes. I don't like the Xian Xia genre; I have tried many times (TTEOTM, TJOCZ, etc.) and dropped all of them. It is not a genre that I am into.

Xiao Zhan is a good actor, but to pair him up with an FL who is not as high caliber as him is a waste of his talents. I can't stand the dubbing voice of the FL character either because it was the same dubbing voice for other FL actresses that I ended up dropping all of those Xian Xia dramas.

The special effect is good, but to see the heavenly realm and monster in a fantasy setting is not my thing. The pace of the drama is also too slow that it did not lure me in. I don't want to waste my time since it is 40 episodes long.

I give it a 5.0 rating because of the bad acting on the FL, which is too slow, boring, and long.

I am rooting for Xiao Zhan and Zhao Lusi in a historical or contemporary drama together. They are both good actors.

Boring script with no on-screen chemistry between the main CP. Don't waste your time.

"The Legend of AnLe" is a Wuxia drama about revenge starring Dilraba Dilmurat as Ren An Le/Di Zi Yuan and Gong Jun as the crown Prince Han Ye.

Synopsis: Di Zi Yuan seeks revenge after her family was falsely accused of treason ten years ago and beheaded according to the emperor's edict. As the sole survivor, she changes her name to Ren An Le and schemes her way into the court. She admires Crown Prince Han Ye's concern for his people's welfare. While slowly developing feelings for him, she remains haunted by her past, unable to dismiss the enmity between their two families. The crown prince, Han Ye, driven by his deep love for Di Zi Yuan, vows to resolve their differences at any cost.

Review: I have watched 11 episodes, and the pace of the drama is very slow. It did not lure or engage me, and I found it quite boring. In addition, the onscreen chemistry between Gong Jun and Dilraba was not great. When Dilraba's character tries to flirt with him, Gong Jun seems quite stiff.

The acting of the main CP was so awkward and bad that I lost interest in continuing with this drama, and nothing special about the story either. Especially many other WuXia and/or Xian Xia dramas are more interesting, like Lost You Forever and Mysterious Lotus Casebook, making this one a loser.

I give it a 5.0, and I am dropping this drama. I liked Gong Jun in Begin Again with Zhou Yu Tong (Together, they have great chemistry.) I am disappointed with his acting in other dramas post-Begin Again, similar to Dilraba; last year, I could not pass episode 1 of Blue Whisper: part 1, and I didn't bother with part 2.

Same old story with wives, concubines, and offspring bickering at each other. Overly done

The Rise of Ning is a custom drama about wives, concubines, and their offspring bickering at each other. It has been done so many times with other Cdramas. It starts with Zhang Wan Yi as Luo Shen Yuan and Ren Mi as Lou Yi Ning.

I watched about 17 episodes, hoping the storyline would improve as it progressed, but it didn't. I am dropping it for the following reasons:

My Reviews:
1. The same old story that has been done with many other Cdramas.
2. I like Zhang Wan Yi; he is a good actor, but his character could be stronger in this drama, and his onscreen chemistry with Ren Mi could be better.
3. I don't like Ren Mi's acting ability. She has the same expression with many emotions.
4. It is draggy and slow. One cannot repeatedly take 40 episodes of the same type of bickering and jealousy.
5. I give it a 5.0 rating.

The drama started out interesting but gotten stupid and draggy as the story progressed

Warm on a Cold Night, after watching 15 episodes, I can no longer continue. The story started-out interesting and somewhat funny; however, it was unbearable to watch as it progressed. It is draggy, repetitive, and boring. The onscreen chemistry between Li Yi Tong and Bi Wen Jun is not great.

Li Yi Tong is a decent actress, but for some reason, I could not finish dramas where she played an FL in any drama because of the characters she played in those dramas.

This is my 11th drama with her (both as FL and 2nd FL); I first liked her in Blossom in Heart with Deng Lun, and I dropped 50% of her dramas, especially the most recent ones.

The story of Warm on a Cold Night is so stupid, and her character is very annoying because of too much whining.

I am giving it a 4.5 rating.

After watching 16 episodes, I got bored because the pace is too slow, draggy, and repititive

Follow Your Heart, a historical costume drama featuring Leo Luo and Song Yi didn't interest me. After 16 episodes, I was annoyed by the pace, impatience to continue, and lackluster chemistry between the lead characters. It is also slow, draggy, and repetitive, with the same themes about crime investigations.

Synopsis: The series tells the romantic love story of Jiang Xin Bai, a cold and aloof prince suffering from face blindness who is determined to eliminate the "Zornia grass" from the world, and Yan Nan Xing, a passionate female traveling doctor whose appearance changes often due to a curse during the full moon each month. Together, they journey through the martial world, experiencing a fated love. Through the process, these two strong yet lonely individuals overcome numerous obstacles and jointly uphold justice. They show the true meaning of love—that while appearances are important, they cannot surpass the connection of hearts.

My Reviews:
1. The pace of the storyline was too slow, draggy, and repetitive.
There were a few comedic moments, but nothing exciting to lure me to continue.
2. The online chemistry between the lead characters needed to be improved. I like Leo Lou's onscreen chemistry with Bai Lu (Love is Sweet) better than any other actresses he paired up with.
3. I love Leo Luo. He is a good actor, but ever since Love is Sweet, I have not been able to finish any of his other dramas since 2022, like Love is Panecea, Light Chaser Rescue, and Till the End of the Moon (because episode 16 ruined the entire drama for me, so I dropped it)
4. He needs to have better scripts and pairing.

I am dropping this drama and give it a 6.5 rating.

The drama is too long to have investigative plot for 55 episodes. Dropping it.

Under the Power was recommended by my friend, so I started watching it, and I am dropping it after 13 episodes for the following reasons:
1. It is too long, 55 episodes.
2. It is too long to watch the lead CP investigate corruption/mysterious murder for that long without any other twist.
3. I love Seven Tan but think Allen Ren is not good. He is a one-dimensional actor with the same facial expression for every emotional or non-emotional scene.
4. The pairing of them is not that great.

Nowadays, I have no patience for anything over 40 episodes unless it is split into two parts or has great plots and good pairing CP like Who Rules the World or Love like the Galaxy, or the Rebel Princess (which has 68 episodes, and the acting is good.)

If you have time to kill while waiting for better Cdrama to watch, then entertain this one.

Liars in Love is a Rom-Com drama about a girl named Jiang Lai who tries to save her father's farm without knowing that her dad made a bad deal and owes people a lot of money. She faked her own identity to encounter the heir of the Zhou Group and steal the deed in the hope of getting the farm back.

Synopsis: As soon as Zhou Yu, the heir of the Zhou Group, returns to China, he encounters Jiang Lai, a woman skilled in lying and disguising. To protect her snapdragon farm, which her father has rented out to the Zhou Group without her consent, Jiang Lai decides to pose as Zhou Yu's never-before-seen fiancée to get close to him. During this period, Jiang Lai faces one identity crisis after another, leading her on a journey of self-discovery. Will she be able to resolve them cleverly? On the other hand, Zhou Yu is deeply entangled in internal corporate struggles and inheritance disputes within the Zhou Group. What secret does he carry upon his sudden return to the country? As these two equally matched individuals meticulously advance their respective agendas, they unexpectedly begin a romance founded on lies. How will they confront their true feelings, break through layers of deception, and embrace each other? What secrets lie hidden beneath their identities?

My Reviews:
1. This is a C-rated drama with mediocre actors who cannot act.
2. The drama had some good elements and funny scenes, so it was watchable to kill time while I waited for a better Cdrama to drop.
3. It is a brainless boy-meet-girl romcom with nothing special to the story.
4. Predictable ending.

I give it a 6.5 rating because it is sometimes watchable and funny.

It was great to learn how it was all started for 鄧麗君 and learnt about her humble beginning.

Teresa Teng is based on the true story of the life of 鄧麗君, a well-known singer around the world, whose life was cut short at the age of 43.

Synopsis: The story begins with the unexpected situation of the concert in Shanghai in 2008. Lying on a stretcher, the third brother, Deng Chang Fu, recalled that on the morning of the early winter of 1953, the fourth child of the Deng family, "the girl," was born in a village in Taiwan's family. The girl's talent in singing appeared when she was young, but her father, Deng Shu, firmly opposed it. Deng Shu retired from the army and began his career as a market stall. The girl was puzzled by the depression and homesickness in her father's heart, but she became a little helper for her father to sell steamed buns. After graduating from primary school, the girl was not admitted to junior high school. However, winning the singing competition through the radio has become a regular shift for singing programs. Deng Shu clashed with hooligans at the market stall, was beaten and injured, and went into a lawsuit. Late at night, the couple felt all this was due to the lack of a fixed store. The girl listened in her ear, loved her parents, became a signed singer, paid in advance, and used the money to top the store for her father. Deng Shu was moved when he knew. The girl finally made it to the stage and got countless good reviews.

My Reviews:
1. I idolized 鄧麗君 and grew up listening to her music. My parents adore her music as well.
2. It was good to see how she got started in the entertainment business. She came from a poor but loving family. Her parents and four brothers protected and supported her dream.
3. It was also sad to see that her love life did not plan out how she expected, and she was lonely and unloved by her lovers.
4. She died at such a young age, 43, without having a family of her own.
5. I am curious to know how true the drama portrayed her best friend, Duan Ning. If it was true, 鄧麗君 should cut ties with her because I hated this character in the drama. She was selfish and not a true and caring friend for 鄧麗君. She only thinks of herself and does not allow Teresa to get involved with Zhou Tai Sheng, whom she had a crush on. He did not love her the way he loved Teresa Teng.
6. Peng Guan Ying, who played Zhou Tai Sheng, did a mediocre job playing this character. He did not show good emotions when he felt he made a mistake and lost her.
7. Peter Ho did a good job playing Wang Zhong Wen; at least, I can see his emotions when he called off the wedding. He felt guilty about hurting Teresa.
8. Michelle Chen did a good job playing 鄧麗君; the last few episodes were so good that I was balling.

I enjoyed this drama, and the music brought back good memories of my childhood listening to 鄧麗君. I give it an 8.0 rating.

I didn't like the topic and the script of this drama.

Let's Talk About Chu is about a dysfunctional family where love and encouragement never speak or show, which leads Chu Ai into meaningless hookups with guys without love. I didn't like the script, and the acting was mediocre.

My Reviews:
1. The acting was mediocre from the FL.
2. I don't like the script and the negative relationships it portrays among the siblings and their partners.

I give it a 5.5 rating. I also fell asleep watching it because it was a slow burn, and I FFed and skipped some scenes that were not interesting to me.

Mediocre about marriage story, but the acting was fantastic, especially the main CP

Queen of Tears is a melodramatic K-drama about the love story of Baek Huyn Woo and his wife, Hong Hae In. A boy meets and falls in love with a girl from a well-to-do family, and the dysfunctional dynamic that their family embarks on ruins their relationship.

My Reviews:
1. The main CP acted awesomely, especially the ML, Kim Soo Hyun.
2. The story is okay, nothing special. Typical Romantic Comedy with a melodramatic twist.
3. I didn't like many of the side characters in this drama, where I FF their scenes and only wanted to focus on the main CP.
4. The story started slow and draggy in the first 7-8 episodes. It gets more interesting when FL is diagnosed with a brain tumor; through the matter of life and death, she and her husband rediscover their love for each other.
5. It is a good drama, and the acting is exceptional, especially the main CP. I wish they had more screen time instead of too many supporting casts who steal their screen time.

I give it an 8.5 rating for exceptional acting from the cast.

Good acting but the plot was draggy. It would be better if it cut short to 10-12 episodes.

My Demon is a RomCom Kdrama about a demon who makes a deal with a human during a crisis in exchange for cutting their lives short after it ends.

The Synopsis:
DoDo Hee is the successor of the Future Group. She doesn't trust anyone and is cynical about love. DoDo Hee gets involved with a demon named Jung Gu Won and makes a contract marriage with him.

He can live for eternity by making dangerous but sweet deals with humans who endure hellish lives. But after looking down upon humans for 200 years, he gets involved with Do Do Hee and somehow loses his power. He must protect DoDo Hee, who has taken all his power to prevent his extinction.

My Reviews
1. The acting is good, especially the main CP. There are too many supporting cast that it was not necessary.
2. There were too many repetitive episodes. It would have been better if it ended in 10-12 episodes.
3. It had a good message about evilness, and the choices that one makes may have consequences where they refuse to accept or have remorse about their actions.
4. It has some good, laughable scenes.

Overall, it was a decent drama, and I enjoyed it. I gave it a 7.5 rating.

Excellent story and acting from entire ensemble. An unconventional teachers/students relationships

The Hope is a student/teacher drama that focuses on the underserved and not well-to-do students whom society and teachers do not have faith in to pass the college entry exams of one of the prestigious schools in China, except for Lei Ming, an unconventional teacher who has faith in them and pushes their limit alongside the help of the psychology teacher Sang Xia.

The Synopsis: Lei Ming, a former successful lecturer facing entrepreneurial setbacks, shifts gears to become a high school teacher. Leading a special class with psychology teacher Sang Xia, they aim to uplift underachieving students. Among them is Li Ran, an orphan with dreams of robotics, who was forced to consider dropping out due to his grandmother's illness. Lei Ming, who is dedicated to every student, intervenes and guides them through challenges with Sang Xia's support. Ultimately, the students overcome obstacles, secure spots in their desired universities, and prepare for the next chapter.

I am giving it an 8.0 rating for the following reasons:
1. It was a slow beginning, and I almost dropped it after 7 episodes.
2. I'm glad I stuck with it because it triumphed when the underdogs and underprivileged high schoolers got into college with high testing scores. They succeeded through the dedication of two devoted teachers who believed in and encouraged them and through their hard work.
3. Good acting from the entire ensemble.
4. I like the FL character; her character complimented well with the ML.

If you are looking for a typical rom-com romance, none exists in this drama; however, it has good character building, and the romantic element between the teachers is implied.

It is good crime investigation drama about intelligent humanoid. Good watch.

The Bionic Life is another light-on-series from iQiyi, and they are the leader in this type of short series. I have watched many of their light-on-series, and they are excellent, and this drama is another good one.

The plot is about investigating which humanoid is the killer of humans. Song Wei Long and Vicky Chen are this drama's lead actors/actresses.

The acting is good for both the lead and supporting cast, especially Vicky Chen. She is young and talented, especially in this type of genre. Song Wei Long acted his best in this drama compared to others he was in.

I enjoyed it and highly recommend you check it out. My only complaint is that humanoids are intelligent robots, so why is their blood when they die? Not realistic. I give it an 8.0 rating.
