Good story but too many flashbacks that were confusing, and I did not like the open-ended ending.

Such a Good Love is a melodrama about young lovers who do anything to be together as they are trying to make it in Beijing. Eventually, the hustle and bustle of trying to establish their careers in a big city took a toll on their relationship. Eventually, they part ways.

I adore Wang AnYu and Wang Yuwen. I watched both of their dramas separately. They are both decent actors, and they did a good job in this drama. However, there were too many flashbacks, making it hard to keep up and follow. Even though they eventually broke up, they still love each other. Still, the ending was open for interpretation instead of having the two of them get back together. I did not like the ending.

Synopsis: This story follows the epic yet ordinary love journey of an 80s-born couple in Beijing. When the most talented young man, Zhou Shui, meets the most loyal and righteous young woman, Da Ji, they fall deeply in love. They dream of a better future in their cramped rental room and find joy amidst hardships, supporting and cherishing each other. Eighteen years later, a young couple born in the 2000s stumbles upon this record of their love story, becoming spectators and commentators of this tale of youthful romance. The intersection of these two generations sparks memories and reflections on love: Is it truly worth it? Do we still "dare" to love as they did?

A mediocre but watchable rom-com. Main CP onscreen chemistry was not good.

Eat Run Love is a rom-com drama starring Arthur Chen and Sabrina Zhuang. The plot was mediocre and not as believable as Ligther and Princess.

The onscreen chemistry between Arthur Chen and Sabrina Zhuang was not good. Arthur Chen had better onscreen chemistry with Zhang Jing Yi in Lighter and Princess than in this drama.

I did not like Ding Zhi Tong's character; she is too dramatic and prideful. They both were, and it took 6 years for them to be honest and transparent with each other. The drama should have ended in 24 episodes instead of 28.

Synopsis: Ding Zhi Tong, focused on her career after graduation, never considered love until she met Gan Yang, a cheerful man who pursued her despite their different backgrounds. Their relationship flourished until financial struggles and societal pressures drove a wedge between them. Gan Yang, hiding his family's business decline, broke up with Ding Zhi Tong, leaving her heartbroken and resentful. Six years later, they cross paths again in the business world.

A good crime drama with many twists and turns, excellent acting from Betty Sun

Breaking the Shadows is a crime drama starring Betty Sun, Luo Jin, and Li Xiao Ran. Betty Sun played Han Qing, a policewoman who investigates the killing of her partner, Zhong Wei, played by Luo Jin.

It has many twists and turns, and the acting was good, especially from Betty Sun. This is the second time Li Xiao Ran has played the bad guy, which was unexpected.

Han Qing's persistence paid off, and her half-sister was the one behind all the murders and drug trafficking business.

Synopsis: Han Qing, a female police officer who is part of the Criminal Investigation Team, is a hard-working woman who only cares about her work. She has had a good working relationship with her partner, Zhong Wei, for many years. However, two months ago, Zhong Wei disappeared after following a suspect. Ever since then, Han Qing has been searching for any clues as to what has happened to him. During the investigation of a new case, Han Qing stumbles upon a connection to Zhong Wei's disappearance. He becomes entangled in a network of organized crime.

An excellent RomCom about life lesson that showed inner beauty outshines external beauty

Filter is a romantic comedy about society's view of beauty. Su Cheng Cheng has low self-esteem and relies on the filter bracelet to change her appearance, not realizing that her inner beauty attracts Tang Qi. The drama is funny and offers a good life lesson about inner beauty outshines external beauty.

Tan Jian Ci and Landy Li acted excellently in this drama, especially Tan Jian Ci. I didn't know he could act in comedy. The supporting cast is also good, especially Huang Si Rui, who played Lin Yuan, Su Cheng Cheng's best friend. I enjoyed this drama very much.

Synopsis: Su Cheng Cheng is an ordinary woman who gains a high-tech bracelet that lets her change her appearance. Using it to help others, she unwittingly captures the heart of Tang Qi, a man losing his eyesight, through multiple personas. As she hides her secret, Tang Qi suffers repeated heartbreak. Will she reveal the truth, and can they find happiness without deception?

An awesome portrayal of the dynamic of a blended family. Highly recommended.

Once Again is a melodrama about a blended family dynamic that starts with Tong Da Wei, Zhang Xiao Fei, and Chen Xiao Yi.

I love Tong Da Wei. He is a good actor, and his baby face always makes him look young. His acting ability has improved tremendously since I first started watching his "If I Can Love You So" drama in 2019.

In this drama, he portrayed a very good character, and his acting was much better than that of Zhang Xiao Fei, who played his wife. I love the family dynamic of this blended family, from the parents to the older siblings and the younger siblings. As dysfunctional as they were, they got each other back, which is rare.

Chen Xiao Yi and Yue Hong played the overbearing mothers from both sides well. The drama also had some funny elements, and the story's pace was perfect. I enjoyed this drama very much.

Synopsis: The Luo family, which opened a skewers shop on Good Luck Street, is reconstituted. The widowed father, Luo, brought a pair of twins, and the divorced mother, Luo, brought a daughter. After marriage, the two got together and had a little daughter, becoming a rare family of six. The Luo family lives a plain, warm life, and the neighbors envy them as a "lucky family." The old couple hopes their children's "small families" will be as happy as this big family. Still, they don't know that their children have their family crises or life pains. Still, the filial children are worried that their elderly parents can't bear it, so they temporarily hide it. Ultimately, the children all found their happiness with the help of Luo's father and mother. The second daughter, who is a doctor, and her son-in-law separated because of personality problems and finally got back together after going through the test. The well-behaved little daughter plucked up the courage to return to college. Finally, she became a couple with the second son-in-law's younger brother.

It is not a typical Republican-Era drama. Lot of actions and good acting from two ML

Dark Night and Dawn is a Republican-era drama that starts with Chen Zhe Yuan and Nie Yuan. I liked the drama; Chen Zhe Yuan played a different character from his usual rom-com. He is mischievous, talkative, street-smart, and kind-hearted in this drama.

Xing Fei plays a minor role in this drama, and there is no romance between her and Zhe Yuan's characters. The drama focused more on the work of the two ML characters (Lin Shao Bai and Lu Zheng Yang.) The acting is good, and the plot is okay. It is a bit long, and the bad guy, Zheng Lan Ting, took too long to capture because they dragged the drama longer than it should have been. It would be a better drama if it completes in 30-32 episodes.

Synopsis: It tells the story of the first generation of public security soldiers in Shanghai around 1950, who struggle against Chiang Kai-shek's secret agents' attempt to overthrow the New China. It revolves around two men teaming up: an intelligent young cop who is unsuccessful in the old society but is reborn and matures in New China and an old and experienced Chinese Communist Party agent.

My Reviews:
1. Good acting and a decent script.
2. The story focuses on the two ML characters and their working relationship as they investigate and capture Zheng Lan Ting.
3. No romance at all between Lin Shao Bai and Jin Yan.
4. Overall, it is watchable. I give it a 7.5 rating.

Decent crime drama and good acting by Ou Hao and Li Yi Tong.

Tell No One is a crime drama where Ou Hao plays an undercover cop and infiltrates Liu Qing's gang to find out the root cause of the death of Zheng Dong Yu's father, played by Li Yi Tong, who went missing six years ago.

Synopsis: Zheng Ying, an old police officer about to retire, goes undercover as an overseas businessman to trade with Liu Qing's gang. However, he mysteriously disappears after he successfully catches the gang red-handed. Zheng Dong Yu is Zheng Ying's daughter. The once arrogant and free-spirited girl grew up overnight when her father went missing. To find him, she became a police officer. Gao Yang, a young police officer who went undercover with Zheng Ying, is also looking for him. He stayed in his undercover role, investigating Zheng Ying's disappearance. Six years later, Lei Nai Wu, the key figure of Liu Qing's gang and the last person to meet Zheng Ying, was released from prison. At the same time, a mysterious killer is on the loose, who is trying to kill Lei Nai Wu. At the time, Gao Yang ventured to save Lei Nai Wu. Lei Nai Wu told him that this killer was the real murderer of Zheng Ying. What has truly happened to Zheng Ying?

My Reviews:
1. Ou Hao and Li Yi Tong's performances were commendable, bringing depth and authenticity to their characters. The supporting cast also delivered strong performances, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
2. The story was good, but it is also a typical crime drama with a predictable outcome.
3. By episode 7 or 8, I had figured out that Chen Jia Dong (played by Eric Le Yang) was a murderer.
4. While the story was engaging, it could have been more impactful if it was condensed to 8 or 10 episodes. Adding two extra episodes made some parts feel prolonged and repetitive, which could have been avoided for a more dynamic viewing experience.

I give it 7.0 for good acting.

Good acting from Park Eun Bin, but mediocre script.

Cast Away is the story of a young girl who dreams of becoming a singer but is lost and stranded on an island for 15 years until she is found by her high school friend, who helps her fulfill her dream.

My Reviews:
1. The entire cast, especially Park Eun Bin, performed exceptionally well. She is a good actress. I loved her in Extraordinary Attorney Woo and the King's affection.
2. The plot of the drama is decent, but nothing special.
3. Predictable ending.

I am giving it a 7.5 rating for good acting and mediocre script. I wonder if she did her own singing, if so, she sings well.

A typical crime drama with predictable ending, and good acting from Zhang Song Wen

The Hunter is a crime drama about a police department working to chase and arrest a drug lord, played by Zhang Song Wen.

Synopsis: In the calm coastal town of Sanping City, the narcotics squad accidentally seizes a batch of new methamphetamine that has a rare purity in action, so Sanping Public Security immediately launches an investigation. The transferred police officer Zhao You Nan, with a keen sense of smell and insight, makes a target of Huang Zong Wei, who did the chemical business from scratch.

The cunning Huang Zong Wei ignites Zhao Younan’s fighting spirit. She keeps an eye on Huang Zong Wei. No matter where Huang Zong Wei hides or how false her appearance is, she can dig up clues and find the truth without hesitation to arrest. The Public Security team led by Zhao You Nan versus the drug dealers led by Huang Zong Wei. Zhao You Nan goes after Huang Zong Wei, and Huang Zong Wei is good at hiding, which stages a “game of cat and mouse”…

My Reviews:
- It is a typical crime drama about drug dealers. Zhang Song Wen is the only person who acted and did a good job in this drama.
- He played a likable bad guy, just like the one in Knockout, which has a better storyline than this one.
- It is a predictable ending, so nothing special but the cat-mouse chasing between policemen and drug dealers.

I give it a 5.5 because the script is not original, but the acting is good by Zhang Song Wen

A decent crime drama where a once suicidal policewoman tries to solve a serial killer case.

The Abandoned is a crime drama movie starting with Janine Chang as a police detective. Her character went through a life crisis where she wanted to kill herself after her fiance had killed himself.

Her attempted suicide was interrupted when she found a dead body and got herself involved in solving a serial killer who ended up killing immigrant people from Southeast Asia countries who came to Taiwan for work.

The movie is engaged with suspenseful elements as she tries to solve the case with her apprentice and the boss, who mainly hired immigrant people.

I give it a 7.5 rating, and the acting is good.

A bizarre sci-fi drama with some interesting special effects. Good acting and the rooster rock.

Parallel World is a weird ancient sci-fi drama produced out of Cdrama.

The Synopsis: A beautiful melon seller, Ye Liu Xi, and a shadow puppet performer, Chang Dong, join forces to venture deep into the desert. One seeks to unravel the mystery of her origins, while the other aims to retrieve the remains of his girlfriend and 17 others who perished under mysterious circumstances. As they encounter numerous anomalies in the uninhabited area, they are led to the weathered and supernatural Yumen Pass. They navigate between the Imperial Guards, Taoist Priests, and the Scorpion-Eyed creatures, unraveling the truth amidst various enigmas and gaining insights into true love through numerous life-and-death experiences. The answers seem within reach but are entangled in an even larger conspiracy. Will the truth and their love prevail?

The acting is good, especially the main CP, played by Bai Yu and Ni Ni. The flow of the story is bizarre as they travel into many dimensions of the parallel worlds. It is interesting to watch; however, I wouldn't say I like the production quality of the drama, where everything is blurred and blue when they travel into a parallel world. It is my biggest complaint about this drama.

The cinematography for this drama is quite good, but why blur the sandman's face? It looks distorted. It is okay, and I like the acting, but I am not sure I will watch this genre in the future. I gave it a 7.5 rating.

Good story about medical professions in a tough situation like SARS pandemic in 2003

"Eye of the Storm" is a movie about the 2003 SARS pandemic in Hong Kong and Taiwan. It showed case the stories of how the nurses and doctors, including the hospital administrators, were trying to cover up the patient zero and the spread of SARs.

It also showed the ugliness of human behaviors regarding life-and-death situations. It started out slow, and the story progressed nicely. It also showed the human kindness of everyone trapped in the hospital and how they helped each other in a tough situation. The heroes were the doctors and nurses caring for patients and their families.

Overall, I enjoyed it and gave it a 7.5 rating.

Chinese versof Fatal Attraction but less gruesome psychopath toxic relationship. Good drama

My Wife is a drama about a full-time mom's career advancement follows Shen Anan, who loves life and loves food. This is a Chinese version of Fatal Attraction, where her husband (played by Du Chun) cheats on her with her cousin Shi Yue (played by Rachel Yang)

The acting is good, especially Rachel Yang, who did a good and very convincing job playing a psychopath in this drama, and Ren Fei (played by Chen Hao Ming), who is Anan's sister-in-law and best friend.

I wish Shen AnAn could be stronger and put her husband in his place by revenge, but she is too nice. Eventually, with the help of Lin Yao, her boss (played by Ren Hao), and her husband's ex-GF, Liang Yuan (played by Zhang Wen), she has a successful career and become a strong independent woman again.

This is the first suspense and intense drama about a toxic psychopath relationship that I have seen in CDrama. Men who cheat deserve what they lose when it comes to cheating on their spouses.

I enjoy this drama and can't wait to find out the ending. I give it a 7.5rating.

If you are looking for something short to binge watch, it is not a bad drama.

Circle of Love is a short web drama that has 24 episodes and 12 minutes each episode. It took place in the Republican era when Gu Meng lost everything, family and fortune due to a fire she believes was started by her husband, Hong Ye.

Gu Meng took revenge, but in the process, she had multiple amnesias where she forgot who she was. I don't know why she stuck with Hong Ye when he abused her physically and also caused her to have a miscarriage with their baby.

I did not like the happy ending; it could have ended when she shot him several times. The acting is mediocre, and there are many intimate and risque scenes that I am surprised passed the censorship in China.

Overall it is watchable, but nothing to ring home. I give it a 6.0 rating.

Dysfunctional family drama with strong bonds among the cousins. Good acting but bad script

Take Us Home is a contemporary drama about three cousins from the Zheng family (Dong Ni, Xi Jue, Nan Yin.) Dong Ni is the rebellious older sister with two divorces in her hand with two kids. She gave up her raising her son with her second husband, and she grew up in a dysfunctional family with domestic abuse.

Xi Jue is an adopted son who witnessed her mom commit suicide at a young age. He was adopted into the Zheng family and felt obligated to stick around all around Mr. Nice Guy and a sacrificial one to bind the family together, even though at the cost of his happiness. He is nice but also very annoying because of his loyalty. He is a nice guy that he puts the needs of others above himself, and he can't seem to hold on to his relationships.

Nan Yin is a spoiled kid who loves by her parents and cousins and is childish. She didn't grow up until a crisis happened in her family.

I enjoyed the drama until episode 28. Then it started getting stupid and annoying, especially taking in Xu Hui's daughter, who is dying of leukemia and is the daughter of the guy who embezzles the family money.

I understand it is nice to help people, but not realistic in real life, especially if they are the ones that hurt your family. I got so frustrated with episodes 30-32.

I downgraded my rating from 7.0 to 5.5 because of the latest development in the storyline. The stupid ending, the last two episodes were not needed, where Xi Jue punched the doctor and was on the verge of going to jail.
