Yes, I think the second part will air next year. The director also said the decision to split in 2 parts was made early on, so they must be finishing the script by now. They'll probably start filming part 2 this year, and the post-production will definitely take longer. We don't know how much of the cast will appear in part 2.

You're right! It might take way more energy to wield another mage's sword since the sword probably resists a new master. Although I'm more inclined in believing this was an aesthetic choice for the poster, Uk does have 10 years of Heoyeom's energy stored in his body and is especially gifted.
