The amnesia trope is valid for the reasons you mentioned, but also to develop deep damaged characters like our FL. The amnesia plot is there bc the character wouldn't develop otherwise. Yeong suffered too many mental and physical traumas. It's totally reasonable for her to lose some memories, especially if she had to go through a major physical trauma to survive (gawd knows how she ended up in her original body again: experimentation? cursed artifacts? the ice stone demanding an equivalent sacrifice?).
Anyways, you can count on me to give exact feedback after the season finale. I promise I won't sugarcoat it for you.

I notice some ppl just jumped on the hate bandwagon. I confronted some of the complainers on ig and they didn't even know what JSM was up to nowadays. So I assume the majority are not her fans. But I saw screenshots of a toxic JSM stan harassing GYJ on ig, that upset me the most. Things on twt are just messy but at least they can't harass GYJ there. But they're always lurking. A few days ago, some of JSM's toxic fans harassed one of our precious LJW accounts resulting in them taking some time off.

You made me curious about your trope evaluation system. What do you consider a good or bad trope?

You're not wrong. If it's gonna be well executed or not, it all depends on the Hong sisters' storytelling skills.

I don't mind dragging as long as I can enjoy the journey and the resolution is satisfying. I don't like rushed plots that leave the impression the events didn't sink in. I think it turns the experience more immersive when we have time to feel the same urge the characters are feeling. Delay of gratification is a good thing.

We don't know how the writers will unfold the events, but I believe 7 episodes would be more than enough. We don't want a climax much sooner than the denouement.

She definitely started the process of self-realization but Jin Mu didn't let her do anything.

The amnesia plot will give Yeong a second chance in life (she'll be able to pursue self-realization without the burden of revenge or guilt from killing her lover). She'll probably recover her memories since she wants to know who she is.
