What ep that Jingyu you're referring to? I'm currently at ep 8, just give me ep number dont spoil me what happen…
Yes. He is really good in "Love in Times" too. I am usually not a fan of shows focused mostly on romance but gave exception that show because Yang Xu Wen portrayed two same characters with 4 months apart hence there were some difference due to character growths really well.
LOL, yes for the Prince of Tennis although I know that the actor playing him is really famous as well (I don't watch that many C-dramas but I know some actors are famous like Alan Ren but doesn't mean I have watched their dramas)
True about CY's sad scenes. Yes, "Draw the Line" is not depressing. The cases are interesting. My mom watched that so I knew some of the earlier cases although I didn't know CY back then so I just thought he was just another famous guy but had no idea what he was famous for (same as other actors I know were famous but I don't watch the show). LOL. Now I totally blame MLC for becoming one of CY's fans.

I like all those characters you mentioned except for the prince of poison because I skipped a lot of his part 🤣 I have watched The Condor Heroes (2017) and Strange Tales of the Tang Dynasty so was pleasantly surprised to see Yang Xu Wen playing Qing Long here.
Ah yes, I skipped those parts. Also surprised that Alan Ren was playing the fox.
Yes, I think Cheng Yi got recognised more from this show. Just saw that from a YouTube video yesterday that he worked for 9 years in the industry before getting his A-list status now after Love and Redemption . Yeah, I should watch his other shows besides Mysterious Lotus Casebook for more CY but I don't like Xian Xia and his other costume shows are mostly depressing from what I heard.
I do like this show but it's so draggy so I skipped a lot. I like the premise of the show as it's pretty simple as compared to more modern show.

1. Ah OK, yes, it makes sense that he is worried about Xiao Fan.
True and they match better.
2. I am not sure if they ever mentioned it because of all the skipping 🤣 It makes sense if it's senior uncle as he's the only one close to Jing Yu at that time.
3. Wow, he is indeed super talented to be able to relearn so fast plus it's good with the skills from the senior uncle.

Questions regarding Jing Yu.
1. I skipped so many episodes so I'm not too sure. Did Jing Yu love Bi Yao initially? He seemed confused and annoyed with himself when Xiao Fan and Bi Yao were together as I thought he didn't want to "betray" his best friend but couldn't help with his feelings. Did he get over his "love" for Bi Yao?
2. In episode 48, or 49, or 50, JY was locked up by his teacher since he discovered his secret. Did he use his sword flying skill to rescue himself? I'm not too sure since a sword flew in and just broke the spell and I thought someone rescued him then I remember they could fly sword. As I said, I skipped a lot :)
3. Since his skills were removed by his teacher, how did he get it back so quickly? Did he get his lesson in his ancestral hall with his senior uncle Mr Wan? I thought his teacher returned his skills when knocking him out and locking him up but he seemed surprised as well that Jing Yu got his skills back, so perhaps his teacher was just healing him after hitting him.

Yeah, I watched it mostly for Jing Yu so I skipped a lot. I think my version of the show is what Jing Yu experienced instead of the whole show aka Xiao Fan, Bi Yao, and co :)
Ah OK. I have never joined a discord. I think it will be handy to see which episodes Jing Yu appeared so I could skip a lot. I started watching more seriously from 24, earlier part I skipped a lot as my mom was watching and I only occasionally looked on except when Jing Yu appeared :) but I might miss some episodes/scenes. If there is a list of the episodes he appeared that would be cool.
Yeah, I plan to watch season 2 for Jing Yu's scenes for closure :)
I have questions regarding JY which I posted with spoiler below.
the cloak right?! i wanted to complain at the hairstylist. they mostly has this awkward hairline going on. it's…
I also watch this because of Cheng Yi after watching Mysterious Lotus Casebook. I think he only appears more after 15 or something. He barely appeared in earlier episodes.
I loved 'Ripe Town' it was a unique chinese drama for me, it kept many of us guessing almost till the end. I watched…
Will keep "Ripe Town" in mind.
Ah yes, it was similar "And then there were none" , actually a few arches are similar to that book in the sense a few people got killed in turn in a remote or secluded area. The bigger arch is actually quite interesting for me.
" (It was supposed to be scary and mysterious but I couldn't stop laughing at the sheer number of people who wandered into that deserted government post in one single night???)"
Yes, this one was super funny. It's that one night that everyone arrived at that "deserted" post. I think the scriptwriter also meant it to be scary and funny with the characters' reaction especially Liu Shiba's with various guests and whether the guests were allowed eat the chickens.

I think we won't miss much with the flashbacks.
Yes, I remember that most teachers wanted him as their student in the first episode. He is really that good to be able to relearn so quickly.

Yes, keeping fingers crossed.

Yes, I love that the most important thing in the show is the common people and their struggle.
Yes, the ML changed for the better after episode 10 (not the exact episode number because I watched this when it aired so it has been a while).
I know that Detective (2021) series. My mom watched it, I only watched some episodes. The mysteries are pretty good. Too bad about subtitle.
