Will check it out. I saw that the cast also has Ying Haoming so he reunite again with Haoming They're together in "Swords of Legends" which also starred Yang Mi but I haven't completed that and put it on hold and "Mystic Nine" which is where I first knew about William.

I believe he is shooting for "A Date with the Future" because he said he will play a fireman next. Or he could be just do his other stuff like modelling or singing or whatever his other profession is as he seems to have a lot. :)

Oh the one with Reba is Invader as I just check MDL. I'm not sure if they have filmed that. I actually don't follow their Weibo or other social media so I just know what's shared here or what I see on youtube shared by Marcus . Reba as in "Swords of Legends" as well and she was crushing her shixiong played by William. Now he's been promoted to Shifu. LOL.

I think "Only side by side with you", "Dance of the storm" is closer to his real life character although the first one suffered from a lot of flashback and the latter didn't have good writing. His best modern drama is "Age of Legends" although his character is not similar to William.

I must have read in MDL about one baixi one emperor if not in the show. I thought the Emperor explained it to Haishi. That's why I facepalmed when they zoomed in to FJM when the doctor said the baby was very sick. Not again.

Yes, I just saw the video about William Chan's feeling depressed portraying FJM so he needs to exercise every day. He really internalized FJM. In another interview, he even said that he usually couldn't immerse himself in costume drama as compared to modern drama but he really tried here and Yang Mi helped him.

I could understand because he is a naturally cheerful and positive person so it's hard to play the opposite.

I couldn't agree more. I'm glad your review is quite broad without massive praising or massive contempt. It does seem like you like it or hate it. I personally like it although I'm quite depressed with the ending :)

I don't think there's any precedence to that, Even Wu Zhetian became an empress because her son was the emperor I believe. But again, the Emperor was quite progressive.
