I absolutely love the performances in the series, especially Fourth's, but it's such a complex theme and it wasn't taken any risks. The narrative is too 'clean', too idealized. I feel like the director/screenwriter was afraid to get deeper. It's a shame.

the ending is the least of the problems. the development of the story is poor and the screenwriting is very incoherent. it's a shame, 'cause I really liked the plot.

one of the highlights of the series is Miles Wei's performance. I think he captured the nuances of the character perfectly, since the idealistic fool to the bitter villain.
