ZJY range of a roles till now are the opposite of Esther Yu's Speed and Love character, that's why you feel this way.
Esther is 30 and was playing a character who is 10 years younger than her so she had to play it in a certain way to make it convincing for the viewers that's why she changed her voice ... Her baby voice is annoying for me but I was enjoying the drama at the beginning but then the scenario and all the unnecessary scenes made me drop it. (It felt more like incest to me since he knew her as his sister before she was even born and lived as such for more than 10 years). That's been said, Esther played her character in my journey to you differently and I enjoyed watching her in love in eastern fantasy too.
For me, ZJY played her roles the same way each time. When I'm watching her, I'm fully aware that I'm watching ZJY and can't really immersed and watch the character she's playing. That's what I thought in the beginning that's why I was excited about the drama before it aired but as the story unfolds we get to know that he was ADOPTED by her family before she was even born. He knew her as his sister from the start like he wasn't even in school yet. She always knew him as her older brother and they grew up together as siblings for a decade... She came to Thailand for her older brother and when she saw him, she felt attracted to him (same for him btw) and don't even get me started with all those cheesy scenes that were so over the top. I was cringing like it wasn't some short spicy drama or a whattpad story c'mon! It could have been executed correctly or should I say written correctly.
I'm just sharing my opinion and absolutely not judging the people and especially the younger generations that liked it.
