Oh yeah I just watchec that yesterday- the bridge scene. That was so hot. The surtitles are pretty normal or or rather nomral average. It doesn't translate the innuendo.

I juat watched ep 18- 27 on Friday and Sat and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am not watching a romance drama and appreciated that I enjoyed the pacing and stoey development.

I wanted to be entertained and relax during the weekend. Tbe episodes did their job. Love it.

I just watched ep 18 to 27 from yesterday till today. I've just finished the preview.

The episodes have been fine. When the OTP appears they are smoking hot. However I've actually enjoyed the plot lines and all the other characters.

I only remembered ep 25 and 26 because of the comments here. I didn't noticed that the OTP were not on sceeen much because the other scenes kept me engrossed.

I am happy that the main leads are smokin' hot together but at this point I am more thankful this drama is so good. I am not wanting anything to change. I'd sacrifice romance juat so I can watch a good drama.

I am totally fine this drama tells a story and the romance can simmer.

Hasn't many more dramas been ruined because the producers listened to fans and then focused too much on the OTP?

Not all of us signed up for a pure romance drama.

Omg Friday is finally here. I give up. NOTHING and no other freaking drama was working to distract me all week. I tried and failed and even watched some idiotic web drama.

I am going home and making myself some affogato and plonking my butt down for the ep 18 to 26 binge.

All I heard all week was shirtless, bath scene, another bath scene, hair touching, sleeping.

Just read the spoilers, I stopped at ep 17 and am holding off till I have lots to watch. I can take the trickle of episodes and waiting.

No. I am happy for him to be in a rom com but there are at least 8 other actresses I like and it's not those 2. I don't want any fandom issues to spoil his drama.

You guys are so cute and I am laughing at the comments. I cannot take this 2 episode a day and am just going to binge on Friday. The momentum is lost because of the cliffhangers. I already know what happened to the brother and now knowing his lover went into a brothel and now being beaten to death has put me off. It was the preview.

And looking at you all going nutso over the bath scene that's what you all be talking about anyway. I like this show because of the writing and want to watch ep 18 to 25 without losing the momentum.

Didn't she try to redeem it as she had pawned it for her husband? I cannot remember why. I know she pawned her guzheng. So she tried to redeem it when she got back to the capital and Duke Su had been having someone follow her? It was in the earlier episodes so I forgot the details. Didn't the shopkeeper recognise her as Madame Shen or something?

At that point it was 25% into a story you don't know about. Its only ep 18 today.

You did a pretty big call to call that arc superfluous. Besides the answer below; her whole support system was built in that arc. I would call it significant. And no I didn’t time the 2 musical pieces time. 24 minutes for those 2 pieces of music? Really? It didn’t seem that long.

I would say losing one Li brother and Ye Shijie getting an official post a big arc. Her consolidating the cousin's friendships and make it 2 male cousin and one Liu family a huge deal. Plus the whole city knowing her name a massive deal.

This is pretty much a political drama now. If it advances the FL's arc it makes sense. What did you think this drama was about? Just the male lead killing and torturing? She has no martial arts skills. The writer has to show her getting stronger ie her support base in other ways right?

I was about to start this drama but all the frustrated comment are making me back away. No wonder only 157 users have rated this.

I see a lot of violence in my job including arrested accused murderers and rapists. But even I quailed at the husband swinging that spade at her head. Being buried alive is actually a terrifying way to death. Death because you can't breath is terrible. Those of you familiar with congestive cardiac failure or end stage respiratory failure will understand what breathlessness is. She clawed her way out.

If my trust broke because of a man and dying like this; the last thing I would trust is a seemingly powerful man who keeps saving and saving me. There must be a price. Is anything in life free?

You need a certain faith in the power of love to even think of Duke Su as a potential person to trust; much less love.

Its not been long enough. Seeing the Shen guy is almost a PTSD trigger. She is continually reminded of her misjudgement.

So yeah psychologically speaking and this writer is pretty thorough in mind warfare or mind games dictates that something needs to change in their dynamics for she still consider Shen her husband. To then consider Duke Su for her future. She doesn't want to get back or love Shen but her mindset must be that she is no longer his wife. Men can be bigamous in a Cdramas no female is usually written to be in bigamist relationship. Yes her original identity is still there. Yes in the novel she died and her soul went into Jiang Li.

Until the writer clears this up- it doesn't matter how perfect you think Duke Su is- the romance won't happen. Unless you're in some fluffy idol drama. This is so not a fluffy drama. And she is no brainless female lead like so many of those idiotic dramas.

And so? Will you stop watching it then? Most of the historical dramas have no true happy ending anyway.

That sounds too modern. I translated that into Mandarin and it doesn't come off romantic " say no more. " That sounds like a romance novel line.

The Duke so far has been a man of few words. He is curt, sounds cryptic but we understand what he means. The writing has actually been pretty good in this drama. By writing I mean the lines. Someone is very good in this team. Governor Tong's scenes have been written as an opera act so far. Rhythm and all. I have been enjoying the lines here. I don't even normally pay attentionn to the actual lines that much and go for the subs but have actually been repeating scenes to listen.

" Say no more. " is just not in character. Now aicwant something appropriate. We all know Duke Su will be assured and decisive. I have no brain cells at 5am to make him capitulate in his own style. It would not sound like a surrender. It would be beneath his demeanour.

I will try to hold off as long as I can.

Oh dear ep 18 looks very interesting. So I will get ep 17- 26 by next Friday. I could not watch further episodes and just binge 10 episodes at once.

Ep 18 does look so good.
