I am about to start the drama. How prominent is she that I have to watch her? Do I fast forward or mute it?

Well I finished Shen Li and also the ep 17 - 22 episodes. It was so civilised and pleasant getting the progression. I just need to look for ep 23- 24. Then need to do some actual work work and catch up next weekend.

Geez. I stopped at episode 16. Now will wait for end of next week Friday then. That will take me to ep 32 which will maoe 16 episodes to marathon. So that's good in a a way. I am currently on ep 32 of a Legend of Shen Li marathon after having watched ep 39. Now I need to find another in between dramas. Queen of tears I guess.

Her mannerisms here is almost the exact imitation of Extraordinary Lawyee Woo or something like that. The hesitations, the rotating wrists and finger grasping motions. I seriously thought the character was like that. The novel version is fantastic. I want that version of Shangyao. Why did the production change the character? What's wrong with having the novel version?

There isn't? Why?

Xingyun? Yes I kinda like Xingyun. I had no issues with him.

I hope there is resolution for his friend what's his name and the 3 person fate thing.

That makes sense. I have had a lot of dramas with senseless side plots. If they advance a relationship it makes sense.

Oh the jealousy? Surprisingly it doesn't bother me. Its the utter passiveness. I am used to the actor and have watched other dramas with him as the main lead.

I didn't feel the angst or longing yet from him. That's why I am bored. Ok. Episode 21. I will plod on then. This has been reviewed as very good and a happy ending. So I have to give it a good go since none of my last 6 xianxia has had a satisfying ending. I do not like the 500 or 1000 years cultivation sleep sort of ending.

For 39 episodes I want a good solid ending. A God who is above emotions- used to that. I don't even see much emotions in those jealousy to classify it as jealousy so that part of the plot didn't affect me. I just wanted to make sure those of you who watched it didn't tell me there were a lot of useless side plots.

I wanted to ask if ep 19- 38 gets better plot and movement wise. I am definitely watching ep 39. I just wanted to know if the story telling is worth the journey. Otherwise I would just see the ending.

I am on episode 18. I am depending on the good reviews that this show is worth it. The story is so slow and I can't get into it.

The filming is gorgeous. The actors are good. The special effects are very nice. I just can't get into it. I know this has a happy ending so I am holding on and trying my best to not fast forward.

Xianxia is just full of weighted remarks and comments. Too much for my brain.

I actually like the actor playing Mofang. Its a pity he hasn't gotten more roles. And yes I know what happens to him.

I am actually amused about the comments about the father. The actor is 40 years old and I remember him from other dramas. He is a very good actor.

I love XLY and have probably watched one of her older dramas like 20 times. I cannot stand Xingzhi the character so have no desire to go gaga over him. However I have seen so many dead leads and open ended endings in xianxia dramas that I have to finish this to overcome my memories of sad endings in this genre.

This drama will move faster right? I am at episode 18 already. I have put Blossoms in adversity and Queen of tears on hold for this. It's completed so thank god. Hopefully I will finish this by the weekend. I am so tempted to go to ep 39. Shall I? Then restart from where I left off.

I am at ep 16. Does that mean ep 20 was good? I am trying to watch several episodes at once instead of 2 episodes a day.

Its hard to serve 2 mothers. I guess I am used to this
concept as its not new. Just as giving away one's child due to financial circumstances was sometihing I grew up with. Its not something I read in a book but something I see in real life.


However with the cultural reasons why this happens... well it is ancient history. Times were different and if you apply modern principles of keeping your kid then its feasible in your country. You sometimes have to roll with it. If your adopted son is the 2nd son or also a Minister's son and you later hope to make an advantageous marriage you can't let the girl's family know he's a concubines's son. So yeah its all pr nothing.

It's reincarnation that's not allowed I think. Government policy. So they went for transmigration. There is a drama which has 2 parts to avoid this rule.

Love like the galaxy was a transmigration beginning? Wow. I didn’t know. I am used to people returning and leaving the other party behind. Its fine if she doesn't then in this drama. I am on another drama now so will decide if I want to google the info. Sometimes not knowing what happens in a novel makes it easier to accept the changes. You don't know what the novel was like.

Ep 40. This is such a long drama. I don't trust cdrama endings.

Yes its not allowed in China but I don't trust the writers just in case they suddenly try to incorporate the ending from the novel.

Really? Oh my. That's totally unexpected. So they always go back to modern times and that's sad ending for me.

It was 1430 then 1330 then 1930 now its 1330hrs. Is Youkou really that disorganised?

There is a difference between disliking a drama and sounding arrogant.

Shen Li is a completely different genre and gives off a different vibe. You like it its great because its hard finding a good drama.

The ML is not perfect but then he's known for it. So no surprises there. I like the day to day drama of it all and that the set, costumes are tastefully done. I like the huge supporting cast.

The FL's lead age is or can be deduced by the references in the conversation. She is the oldest Miss in an important official household. I thought she is doing well to learn from her mistakes. At least she isn't a walkover. She is or in her mid teens.

I like this drama. I don't love love this drama no. The ML is probably the weakest link but I am still happy with this drama.

Its fine if you don't like it. Just as its fine I am not interested in Shen Li. Yes I have seen some of it. However your whole tone while you go about it gives off the vibe that you're commenting to provoke an argument. Rather than a civilised conversation or exchange of opinions.

I am actually taking a break for 3 days here so I can binge so hope you find another good drama. I am off to read a book. I did enjoy another 2 dramas that gives off this sort of vibe. The one with Crystal Liu and the other one with Bai Jing Ting. I've fast forward and skipped so many of those xianxia dramas precisely because of it. It doesn't matter how good or bad it is, its just not my cup of tea. Too much suffering, death, sacrifice, reincarnation, torture so much torture for my liking. In each drama.

Good lord who said there was nothing happening in this drama? I just saw the preview for ep 17 and 18. I think I am going to hold off for a few days until I have 6 episodes or more to watch. There is too much suspense in ep 17 and 18. I don't know who is the lady in ep 18.

I was cruising along feeling happy and forgot this is a palace drama.
