You guys can talk about the plot.

I am talking about the casting team. I am seriously wondering how they managed to cast so many striking looking actors and actresseses?

Now before you go on and think I am a swooning fangirl lets talk about the actresses including the minor characters. Did you see how they look? They look distinctive. Really attractive but also sharply different in looks. I actually have problems telling actresses apart in some dramas because they all have the same surgically enhanced looks. Or too scrawny or actually emancipated. The actors here don't. I was actually admiring the dancers several episodes back. They had muscles man. Did you see the biceps and the strong back muscles in those spaghetti strap robes?

Lets talk about the Changxi Palace brothers. They all seem cast the same as the actresses. The male actors in this drama all look different. They are good looking in various ways but they look different. They all of them bar the Black Snake look as if they are 60kg weight and above which is actually healthier than what I've seen. Based on their height they should be over 70kg but you know how actors are. They all keep themselves slimmer. They have broad shoulders as well. Some dramas have literal twigs with narrow shoulders, skinny arms and legs, no drapes to their pecs in those gowns and like a 24 inch waist.

So yeah... I was looking at the unexpected introduction of all those new Celestial Masters and remembering RIP Pei and the Hua guy. Even the Huang guy although not conventionally good looking has a respectable built to be a soldier commander.

And all of these actors/ cast can act. Yes I recall multiple dramas where the actors ( using it for male or female ) can act.

Needless to say I actually do like their CGI here better than some other dramas. The costume designers likes the FL in orange and green doesn’t he?

This drama is entertaining. I have no complaints. I was surprised the ratings are that low though. The story is not staying the same at least.

I honestly do wonder if the Snake Lord and that 2nd ML would die. NO do not tell me. I don't want spoilers. I am happy to be kept in the dark. The spoilers or people who keep posting novel details outside spoilers tags in so many dramas have spoilt those dramas for me.

I just finished ep 2. Yoona looks young.

The ending was scary/hilarous/ unexoected.

Is there a reason why there is a huge age gap? I mean- is it in the novel? Or the male actor very popular? They are like the web novel character? That sort of question.

I was looking forward to this drama. I like the premise. I was just surprised that there was such a huge age gap of 11 years.

Is the female chef that young? Or the 24 year old actor is supposed to be in his 30s?

Transcript? Its probably in Korean. If you find an actual case all you'll see are the legal clerk entries. However if you have the case number it will have the court number and which court- I have only seen this in Hangul- so you could sit in. Some are open to the public. So the next time you're in Seoul I guess you could try going to a court. The names and locations of all the courts in SK are on the website.

You're trying to be ethical. Korean dramas or dramas that try to potray ethically or morally right behaviours hardly occur. You're just going to make yourself disturbed/ upset.

No legal dramas shows the research for a case. Any case. It makes for boring viewing and I watch legal dramas.

The Korean court system has a website with an English section. If you're that into you can read the current cases etc. Or actual Acts.

I actually went through the cast list just now because I was double checking if my eyes were deceiving me.

I have been quietly watching from ep 1 since Thur. I am posting here because I finally paused at episode 11 and just wanted to say " my god how many eye candy did they cast in this drama?"

The guys are just my type. No one is scrawny. There was one recent drama recently where the bodyguard was a twig. Even the villainous guys are cute. The minor demons were cute. What is happening? The casting director worked very hard.

The actresses are slyph- like. They all look like they are 45kg or less. Lady Liu is only 22? My god that is young.

I actually went to look at the set designer because the colours are popping. They really stand out. He has an impressive drama resume. I liked the set designs and clothing in those dramas.

The camellia tree in the wading pool water made me laugh though.

What is amazing are that the close up shots of the actors showed such fine skin for everyone. The Empress is 47 years old? Man she looks good.

I am not reading on about the plot. Its 38 episodes. I am not going to read novel spoilers. The Summit of my youth and The legend of the female general spoilers have totally spoilt those dramas for me.

I am just going for the ride. And oh yes, the CGI quality is different unlike a certain recent xianxia. This is more classsy. Even the donkey looks better.

That is bad.

Guess I don't need to rush to watch ep 20 onwards.

Luckily I am not that in love with the main couple. I have been popping in and out of Amidst a snowstorm of love because of the chemistry between the guys. So I am getting my fix there.

This drama was always fluff for me. That it was even coherent for so many episodes was a continual surprise.

Why? I am still on ep 19.

I am East Asian. And once upon a time was skinny. So when I was skinny female then. Zhou Ye is 165cm.

So here I am. Skinny. Young. And strong enough to carry another soldier my weight etc with the guns and all. I am talking military here. And I know how strong the guys were. We had to do climbing and clambering etc. So even if everyone looks skinny we were all fit. Lets leave the commandos out of the story. Their built is another story.

So here we have He Yan who is stronger than He Ru Fei in a fight. And against the big Wuteo general.

I am just saying.... ridiculous casting.

Its worth watching. However it wasn't magnificent which was disappointing. Its worth watching.

I like the actress. I really do. I think her sword fight sequences movements were good.

Was she miscast? Yes. Was she miscast like so many other actresses who are cast as a strong male characters but then chose the most small built actress? Yes.

Make up and costumes? Its ok. Nothing to write home about but its acceptable.
