I was thinking exactly the same as you. After Ep 30, I don't think his father is the one. His mom ED did confessed and wrote the letter bcoz she felt so much sin for what she did. But she was afraid so she burned the letter. I don't know the reason, but his father knows and he felt guilty of ED, so he is especially nice to ML. I hope I am right bcoz his dad is super nice to him 😢
Oh I wonder the foreign woman confessed about poisoning of Prince 2 is the one who made the poison ordered by ED? Is she still alive? Is so she can make antidote? ML will survive? Pls. don't let him go. Most poisoned ML hardly survive 😭
One thing I like about this drama is because this drama is NOT 'Harem Infighting' . The story shifts away from standard inner-palace hierarchy battles to a high-stakes intelligence duel centered around the Crown Prince and the Princess. And ML and FL perfectly suits to these characters. I cannot think of anyone else can play these two characters. I am at Ep 30. So hard to read his father......
I really enjoyed the drama. They had to be smarter to complete their plots against enemies and I didn't watch this as romance, but more for politics and plots.

Okay.... but what ML wants is to find out who poisoned him, right? Is there something else he wants? Of course he wants to marry FL. (Or ML has other motivation?) And FL is as you said, she wants to protect her family and she wants a peaceful life, Marrying to ML is perfect since he is supposed to die within 3-5 yrs and securing the crown princess position is high ranking in the society. (FL said so in the earlier episode). There are no one else but ML to marry now after rest of them are no good. Well said 👏 One thing I notice is there are lots of fan of romance drama at MDL. Some even said two boys (Fu & Wen) have BL vive, which it didn't even cross my mind at all 😮💨 As you wrote, some posted there aren't enough romances in this drama, so they are dropping it. Too bad, they are missing great drama.
This drama is more about friendship, trust, encouragement and love. I don't know how many time I cried after ep 10. Their stories moved me deeply. What a wonderful drama.
