Stop making Teh the villan...

Everyone keeps making Teh out to be the issue and i am going to try and explain his character and what i have seen and what i think people are missing. The way Billkin is playing this character is perfect. People are forgetting this is a coming of age story. So below i will try and break it up into the different episodes as we are only up to episode 3 so far.

EPISODE 2-
Teh is completely lost, because he is a hypersensitive character and nothing is going according to his plans. Teh explains he is feeling this way to Oh Aew after his break down he is feeling lost as everything and everyone is changing.

Khim is now a flight attendant. Tom has left and Jai is the only one still around out of his friends. Oh Aew is changing, dropping out of the course and getting a tattoo. Teh doesn’t like change.

EPISODE 3-
You can clearly see in this episode that Teh loves Oh Aew and is feeling a disconnect which he trys to make up for by wearing red again ( Oh Aews colour). These are the little nuances that i think people are missing!! I personally love when filmmakers use color palettes to reflect a characters emotions. This series is so beautifully done.

Teh wants to be like Jai he doesn’t have feelings for him or like him in that way. He literally wants to be him, he thinks that Jai has everything together while Teh he feeling so lost.

Now on to Oh Aew and Teh, they lack communication. To be honest alot of that is Oh Aew. Oh Aew not telling Teh he is lonely in EPISODE 1.

●Not telling Teh that he wanted `him to stay with him and not hang out with his friends after the play, instead he encouraged him to go. When clearly that wasn't what Oh wanted.
●Not telling Teh he made a decision about changing courses until after he made the decision.

Which i saw alot of people defending Oh Aew saying it's his life and yes it is! but people are forgetting that Teh is a big part of Oh Aews life. People are forgetting that Teh gave up his spot in the university for Oh so to not be told and let in on what Oh was feeling would have been a slap in the face for Teh.

I think people need to stop misunderstanding the character of Teh. I have noticed alot of people love Oh Aew, but are completely disregarding Oh's flaws.

THEIR FIRST TIME......
With Teh not remembering his first time with Oh I believe it's more to do with his inability at the time to reconcile old Oh with new Oh.

I was asked this question about Teh, by a friend-Did Teh go into the pool before because their first time was in the water?

Water in media is usually a sign change is coming so i think it was symbolic in a lot of ways. But I think the fact that they had their first time in the sea was part of that. It's also why them being cast in the same blue hue was important I think.

Teh has always been an overachiever and is always trying to prove himself to people. moving from a small area to a large city with different people can affect oneself.

I think this script is a masterpiece. I’m not disappointed at all on the direction it is taking and I think these troubles are necessary for this story.
Also, they referenced Wong Kar-Wai on this episode, the master of visual storytelling about relationships. I’m loving this season so much!!!
