DO NOT SKIP SUCH AN AMAZING MEDIUM LENGTH DRAMA!!!

Let me start by saying I first saw this drama on the "Fresh Drama" YouTube page. If you are familiar you may know that many of those shows are hit and miss (usually misses). Bored with nothing else to do I gave this a shot and I am so glad I did.

I have watched a few works from the ML so I was excited to see a familiar face and despite seeing the FL for the first time I fell in love. The chemistry between the two is soooo amazing. If you are into older bossy female/cute younger guy this drama is a good watch.

The overall flow and pace was good especially for a 15 episode show. I feel like enough information was packed into each episode and at no point did it ever feel draggy. Although, this is a romance I feel like it isn't a typical romance drama and by that I mean it actually had substance to it. There are no unnecessary clichéd plotlines and even some touching moments that made my eyes tear up.

Now as a spoiler....

I NEVER watch movies or dramas with incest or brother/sister, cousin/cousin, etc. plotlines because it is sick af. Before starting this drama I didn't know that the brother sister plotline would show up but the way it was done was very tasteful and didn't make me feel uncomfortable to watch (spoiler they aren't related).

Stayed for storyline, comic is probably better.... (rating is for storyline)

This was a typical low budget short. Personally, I love short dramas, even the super low quality and horrible acting ones. This drama might be one of the worse I've seen but somehow, I still found enjoyment.

The acting was so bad at times that it was truly entertaining in a comedic way. What saved the drama for me was that the English subs were easy to follow (which can be hit or miss for these type of dramas) and the storyline was interesting. Some things were cliche but overall, the script was quite intriguing and the reason I stayed. The writing in the first 2 episodes were really nice but after that point the story started to decline. Around the 3rd episode is where the story really started to aggravate me especially the writing for the FL. She became almost unbearable by this point. The 4th and final episode was just plain nonsense lol. I don't want to spoil the drama for those willing to give it a shot, but I will say don't expect much "sweet moments" between this couple.

For those confused by the number of episodes there are 4 episodes total, but they are compilations of the episodes which are like 5-7 minutes each. I guess the director expected to have more episodes, but it must not have worked out so we are left on a cliffhanger. There is a comic, and I did read a few pages and I liked it so I may check it out to see if this story is ever finished properly.

Didn't expect much was even more disappointed

It's hard to put into words how I feel about this drama but here we go.

When I first saw the trailer before release, I already had a gut instinct it wouldn't be drama of the year. Fast forward to a year later I decided to give it a try since I ran out of dramas to watch. Boy was this an even bigger disappointment than I thought. I thought I wouldn't like this drama because it would be too boring but to my surprise it was worse.

This storyline got progressively worse and hard to follow a bit before the second half. I thought it would be a simple cohabitation rom-com but to my horror the writers took it further. Somehow they managed to squeeze in a Altheimer's illness, Cancer illness and some weird "Vanishing syndrome". At some point this rom-com drama turned into a supernatural drama and I hated it. I even laughed when Nana gave an Oscar worthy performance at the end when she cried after realizing he vanished for good.

Then there was the whole love triangle which was more of a throuple where the FL admitted to liking both the ML and SML. It's was ridiculous and if it wasn't for me wanting to see what happened to the ML at the end I would have stopped watching right there.

While watching episode 3 or 4 I even said to myself "omg why is this show not talked about it's so good". It didn't take long for me to eat my words. The only reason I'm not giving it a lower rating is because the first few episodes were really good plus the actors all did an AMAZING job considering what they were given.

Short Sweet And To The Point (Perfect Weekend Drama)

This drama was super good! First of all, it was only 24 episodes rather than the typical 30+ episodes so it wasn't unnecessarily lengthy and didn't require me to skip through episodes. Also, despite it being a shorter show it was paced perfectly and didn't feel rushed whatsoever. The story was well done and didn't have too many cliches. Almost a 10 but there were a few plots in the storyline I wish were better addressed but nonetheless it was good. This is probably the first show in which I actually fell more for the female lead than the male lead. She was AMAZING and I thought her character was so cute and loveable and at moments I even giggled at her cute antics. Despite this being her first starring drama role her acting was so good and it shocked me when I realized this was only her first big role. The chemistry between the leads was quite good and the side characters were great because they were introduced and even given some backstories but the story mostly focused on the leads which I liked. Also, no clingy third parties or back and forth love triangles (at least not anything too serious).

Defenitly worth a watch. Maybe even a good weekend drama that can be finished in 2-3 days.

Stayed For Male Lead

Whew, I just finished this drama and rushed here to leave a review. Okay so overall the story was nice and the plot was good except for the ending which in my opinion was a little anti-climatic as they built the story around this big mystery only to end it the way they did. It wasn't an awful ending but it could have been better.

Next is the biggest and most important thing and that is the way the male lead carried this show. While I rated this show an 8.5 that rating mostly goes to the male lead (and some supporting cast) who I personally believe saved this show from being a dumpster fire. The female lead is probably the worse female lead I've come across in a drama. In terms of the character, she was so obnoxious, whiny and overall annoying. At points, I even had to skip her scenes because it was pissing me off. Then there is the actual actress herself who I felt was pretty bad in comparison to her male costar. Her acting seemed awkward at moments and in scenes with both her and the male lead his acting would be so good while hers seemed so awkward.

I never leave reviews on the actors no matter how unsatisfactory they are but this show is the first. I may check out some other shows that the female lead was in because I refuse to believe that this is her best.

nice and fluffy

*FIRST SENTENCE IS A SOMEWHAT SPOILER*

Putting aside the very creepy "I'm in love with my blood uncle" thing this movie wasn't too bad and was actually cute and enjoyable. I don't find Japanese humor to be my cup of tea especially in romance manga remakes but the very brief comedy at the beginning actually made me giggle a little so I'll give this movie extra points for that. The story was typical but well executed by the cast and director and may be one of my top favorite live-action remakes. Haven't read the manga so can't say how similar it is to it but the movie is enjoyable enough where it doesn't matter if the story is the same as the manga.

Typical Chinese school romance movie but good

Actual Rating:
6.5-7

While not super amazing or unique I did like this movie. It was the typical Chinese school romance movie with the same storyline of how the new bad boy transfer student ends up getting closer and eventually falling for the main lead plus the typical obsessive popular girl chasing after the guy. It's a nice movie to watch if you really love these types of films but it didn't really have a point except for being a nice cute and wholesome movie. Don't expect some crazy ending or plots with a lot of twists and turns.

Not bad but definitely not good

This movie was weirdly done. The pace of the movie was weird and some of the character's storylines were inconsistent and felt thrown in. The movie either skipped over certain storylines and explanations of these storylines or would mention a particular storyline once and would never bring it up. One example of this is the randomly thrown-together storyline of Chae Yong and her mom which seemed like something the writers were forced to do just to give her a backstory. Then there's the introduction of the gang leader which they built up to be a big thing yet he is only introduced once and then that storyline leads to nowhere important. And lastly, in the end, the writers randomly threw in a kidnapping scene that made no sense and then end it off with a fight scene with no explanation as to what happens after. If it wasn't for the acting from the 3 main actors and the few fight scenes this movie would be a dumpster fire.

Skip If You Like Happy Endings

Ok so I JUST finished this show and I am in utter shock at the ending. The only words I’ve been saying for the past 30 minutes is just “wow”. The ending threw me for a complete loop and I can’t process anything else at the moment. This show was actually quite good and I found the story very original and well written. The reason why this show is not a 10/10 for me is because I hated how Shen Zhen was so whiny and kept thinking she was a victim. Hearing her say how she poor and Rui Ning was a princess EVERY episode was so aggravating. Next is the issue with Sheng Chi‘s acting. He would be so stiff at times and I couldn’t feel any emotions from him. Also, I found it weird how his character went from having no romantic feelings for Rui Ning whatsoever to suddenly falling in love within 1 episode despite them not having any romantic situation or anything that would logically make sense as to where his sudden feelings came from. The last and most important reason why this isn’t a 10/10 for me is the freaking ending. As I’ve already mentioned it left me in shock. The ending wasn’t necessarily bad in terms of writing but it was so unexpected and killed the joy and humor of the show. I have no idea why they would write the last 2 episodes that way but I can definitely say it left a lasting impression. Overall great show but if you like happy endings then skip.

Not The Typical Romance Drama

Let me start off by saying that this is the best drama I have watched in a while. All of the things I hate in Chinese romance dramas this drama did not have. As for the positive points, this story is perfectly paced. The relationship between the ML and FL was established quite early (by episode 6/7) and wasn't unnecessarily drawn out. Most dramas only let the ML and FL get together halfway in the drama or towards the end but this drama did not.

Typically I skip the love triangle scenes in dramas as it's usually drawn out over multiple episodes or until the end and usually takes away from the story rather than add. In this the ML and FL both had pursuers but these storylines were short and only lasted 1-2 episodes and the side characters didn't use any nasty tricks or harass the leads. They also gave up quickly once they realized the couple cared for each other and didn't stick around stalking them.

Next, there is the actual plot/storyline and overall writing which I found to be original. First of all, there were quite a few moments that actually made me laugh and jokes that didn't feel cringy. The overall tone was comedic but not cheesy or flamboyant. While the amnesia plot is a bit overused when it comes to drama plots, and is one of the plots I run away from when picking a drama, this drama did it in a tasteful manner only bringing it up every few episodes while not solely fixating on this plot. While the big twist may be predictable to some I don't think its predictability is blatantly obvious.

There are other points but as I don't want to make this review longer I'll stop here. If you want to watch a drama that slightly defies romance drama rules then this is for you.

Very Little Romance Between Main Couple

When people were clowning this show in the viki timed comments I should have listened. This show was probably the worse “boy love” that I’ve seen.

As the headline of my review says there was little romance between the main couple. Matter of fact the show was 90% centered on the side couple. Like I get they were added for a specific plot but it sucks that there weren’t any real (emphasizes on the real) moments of romance between the main couple.

Also, the age difference felt weird for me. I’m not sure how old the actors are IRL or what the difference of ages were for their characters but it felt creepy to me at some points.

Since it was only 10 episodes I decided to stick it through but I am deeply regretting it. If you like sweet moments or just any romance that’s more than 2 minutes (not aggregating either) then I say skip this drama.

Shortened Review
What I liked about this drama:
-Tons of action/constant flow of story
-Graphics kind of interesting
-ML was great
-Villains were evil enough to make me dislike them but weren’t totally despicable to where I wanted to rip out my hair and break my laptop screen out of frustration
-Perfect mix of romance, fantasy and drama

What I disliked about this drama:
-Draggy towards end... drama could have been shortened. 12 episodes would be enough, 13 episodes would be ideal and 14 would be more than enough
-Chemistry between ML and FL didn’t blow me away (although it wasn’t bad)
-Romance was the backdrop of the story but not the main focus and at times didn’t feel like a romance. No heart pounding eye covering moments.

Overall I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the drama. At first I kept skipping to watch because of the synopsis plus I’m not into dramas that involve present day characters meeting their past life selves as I find the storylines very typical and frustrating but this was done really well. As the drama progressed I feel like the acting and storyline got better. Minus the last few episodes I didn’t really feel the urge to skip whole chunks of episodes.

Although, the past live and karma focus in Thai dramas are typical I found the story quite fresh and enjoyed the approach of the characters. Really enjoyed the elements of magic and it wasn’t done in a silly or goofy manner which is a plus.

Disappointed To Say The Least

So I've been wanting to watch this from the day they announced it was being made. With that being said I am so sad that it didn't live up to the hype. As someone who is VERY easy to please I just about never dislike a movie or show especially a zombie one at that.

There are 3 things that ruined this drama for me: 1.) The main ML and Fl characters 2.) The FL actress's acting 3.) the storyline felt predictable and at moments too slow/boring and details added that were not needed.

The side characters are more intriguing and better at acting which makes it painful for me to constantly watch the ML and FL. Plus I HATE the whole childhood friend love plot they included. If they changed the lead actors and didn't include unnecessary scenes I probably would have loved this drama.

Dropped Because Of Female Lead

As someone who hasn't watched the Japanese version I wasn't familiar with the story. The FL is so annoying in the first episode. I get her character is supposed to be the determined and excited type but she just comes off as an annoying know it all. She has no regard for her environment and those around her. I absolutely hate her character and can only imagine how much more annoying she gets later on.
