if you think about it, koreans usually stop calling parents by their name but ___'s mom or ___'s dad unless they are someone high up already. I guess that would get into one's psyche and become one's identity if they're not careful.

I suggest you wait for it to be over and binge watch. I stopped at ep 6 before coming back last week and getting up to the latest in 2 days. For me watching ep after ep didn't feel as slow as just 2 eps a week.

5-6 was slow with tons of time on side characters. i also felt underwhelmed last week, but this week's episodes were much better and back to the main characters

yes you can since the important arc is in the start of ep1. but if you're liking season 2 and since this is ongoing, you could still spend time binging on season 1 since it's just as fun.

Just wanted to vent... I'm kinda starting to loose interest with so many support characters being sus. I like the main characters and the main stage. I just find myself tuning out when the side characters take up screen time being all sus.

This is a very shallow drama. They are not trying to talk about charities or poverty. They just want to show "oh look he's sponsoring children instead of having his own" so their point here is to convey that visually. And yes, Koreans are known to be very racist. If that makes you drop this, then your feelings are valid. But I feel that we must also realize that we can't push our own ideals to others especially the whole production team of this drama.

Maybe and this is just a huge maybe... most child sponsorship programs in S. Korea are in those countries? So if they wanted to show child sponsorship that would immediately resonate with Korean viewers visually, that's what they'd show. Their primary audience is S. Korea so they'd appeal to that segment first and foremost.

You cannot buy the plot and not talk about it. You know even with changes or even the worst b-quality adaptation of a work still helps the original creator and increase attention to the original work and that creator's other works.
