I didn't watch the other remake. I agree with you, the male lead is still harsh to the female lead. I don't know why the male lead in the Japanese version acts like that so far. For me, the first episode is tolerable. I'll still watch it though (for the 2nd male lead and I hope character development occurs for both the main leads. They need it. ) I'll see if it gets worse, or change for the better. I wonder if it will improve certain scenes or concepts compared to the original. Anyways, thanks for trying to watch it.
On this day 2020 December day 44, I tried to again retake this drama. I started watching it when it was airing.…
I watched Jimi ni Sugoi! The main female lead, Kono Etsuko was strong, fashionable and straightforward. She was also hard-working at her job. I looked forward to seeing her clothes in every episode. On the other hand, I watched the Korean verison of She Was Pretty, but I couldn't finish it. I decided to watch the Japanese version that started airing this month because the actor, Akaso Eiji is in it.
You know I did not expect this much! She Was Pretty kdrama for me was a drama i would never watch cause I thought…
I actually watched the Korean version of She Was Pretty, but I couldn't finish it. I decided to watch the Japanese version because of Akaso Eiji. I enjoyed his previous performances from Cherry Magic and Kamen Rider Build. Anyways, I wonder if this version will focus more on gaining confidence. I like your title suggestion, “she was confident.” It seems more fitting.
I watched the first episode and it felt repetitive when the main character, Onotora Shu kept saying that he'll kill his target multiple times, but he doesn't. I understood it was important to address his main goal to the audience and its expected that he'll mess up anyway as part of his character, but I got annoyed when he mentioned it over and over again. Also, I'm not sure if its the acting that bothered me a bit, particularly from Nakagawa Taishi or maybe it was the script/writing of his parts. However, I like that he has the motive to help others in the Jdrama and its interesting to see his character portray a hitman, whose actions contradicts with his kind personality. I like the fast pace and the comedic scenes. I find it suspicious that the detective permitted Onotora Shu to work as a hitman on the spot, without providing official training and tests beforehand (not counting his prior experience from his father). I'll give this Jdrama another chance by watching the upcoming episode(s).
The movie was cute. It was great seeing many familiar faces like Akaso Eiji, Shison Jun, Omasa Aya and Takahashi Issei. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the name of the song in the beginning of the movie with the following lyrics, "I wish upon a star so we will always be with them everyday, I wish you all the best and health and so until somewhere we shall meet."
Does anyone know if someone is subbing Shiro to Kiiro? Its the other Jdrama that Kawaguchi Haruna and Yokohama Ryusei starred together back in 2018. I heard that their character's were just friends in that Jdrama.
This drama reminds me a little bit of Suki na Hito ga Iru Koto, it's also with cooking and the FL is living together…
Thank you @missyagami for recommending Todome no Kiss (Kiss that Kills)! I finished watching it this week and it was amazing! I enjoyed watching Kento Yamazaki portray a comical, smart, greedy and villainous character! I didn't agree with most of his decisions, yet he was such a refreshing character to watch as a main lead. It was fun disliking his character, as well as rooting for him at certain times. For the whole season, I was interested to know what will happen next.
SOMEONE ANYONE PLZ RECOMMEND A DRAMA WITH CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AS GOOD AS THIS ONE!
I suggest the Jdrama, Kikazaru Koi niwa Riyuu ga Atte. Out of all of the characters, I enjoy watching Shun's character development the most, especially in his relationship with Mashiba.
As an ardent fan of this dram, I felt sad. When I checked the stats, ave. ratings from currently watching and…
If it happened on June 17th, could it also be because of Episode 9 too since that aired this week? I didn't watch it yet, so I don't know what happened in that episode. I usually wait until Furritsu release english subtitles before officially watching each episode. I appreciate her efforts of translating this Jdrama with english subtitles.
I wish I read Japanese because I'd love to read this article....
I don't know Japanese either. You can translate it from Japanese to English on the website. Use the google translate, which pops up on the top. Then click on English. It may not be that accurate, but its helpful in understanding the context to an extent.
Maybe it went down because of episode 8? Thats my guess, but I'm not entirely sure. I posted my reasoning in the…
In my opinion, I thought that episode 8 was important for Shun's growth in his character. For example, he tried to overcome his past regrets, which involved working "temporarily" at the restaurant that he left abruptly back in Spain. He also started using his phone (near the end of episode) and he actually acknowledged his relationship in public in the middle of the episode (e.g. he told his ex about his currently girlfriend, not just state they were neighbors). But I thought that Orca's actions annoyed many viewers because he interfered with Shun and Mashiba's date. I understood that Shun was running late, but Orca took the opportunity to go with Mashiba anyway. I felt so bad that Shun was almost there, but he couldn't make it on time. So close, yet so far...
Moreover, Shun and Mashiba spent the least amount of time together in this episode compared to the previous ones because Shun was busy preparing for the test. Mashiba knew that was happening and she supported his decision. I liked that both of them missed each other's company during their time apart. If they attended their date without the intrusion of Orca (and Shun apologizes for his late arrival due to the customer's delay at the restaurant), I thought that everything would have worked out smoothly (or better) for them at the end of that episode.
On the side note: Shun could have asked and borrowed his cousin's phone to call Mashiba because she saved his number and not Shun's (since he barely used his phone). There was a higher chance that she would have answered the call since she knew the caller ID. But I'm glad that Shun attempted to use his own phone anyway to inform her that he was running to her. This situation showed how he gradually improved his communication with her. Concurrently, I hoped he finally realized the significance of a phone. I thought he did so previously in episode 5 during Haru's client/patient situation, but I was wrong back then.
Or, Mashiba could have saved Shun's number (in case of emergencies) prior to that day, even though Shun doesn't use his phone most of the time.
Additionally, Shun was literally across the street from Mashiba and he shouted her names multiple times. How could she not noticed his presence and his voice?
I'm confused - so many comments here are positive about this fantastic drama, so why has the rating actually gone…
Maybe it went down because of episode 8? Thats my guess, but I'm not entirely sure. I posted my reasoning in the comment below. I explained why it was an important episode before mentioning how it would lead to possible issues for the viewers. I also ranted near the end. Since it contained spoilers from episode 8, I marked it with the spoiler tag.
Anyways, thanks for trying to watch it.
