meh. fl acting is mid and theres no chemistry

story:
honestly the beginning was decent. storyline was clean and interesting, the romance was cute. and then it got complicated... and like the part where the fl was literally sick for like ten episodes was so boring because that's the only thing that they would show. the end was ok... kinda annoying tbh. also, when i watched the trailer it was giving me be vibes, but this drama barely made me shed a tear. the only times i actually cried was during some situations with the support roles. the main leads don't have chemistry so it's not sad..?
SPOILER:

i hate the fact that literally almost every single relevant person died and they some how came alive again? like sure happy endings yay whatever but it's so unrealistic. the main leads probably "died" like three times each.

acting/cast;
can't go wrong with 任嘉伦, his historical dramas are always good
however i don't rly like 迪丽热巴, her acting isn't that good in my opinion lol... her crying scenes don't really hit the spot, she has no chemistry with the ml... and it's not like this was the first drama i've watched with her in it. i've watched multiple others bcs of the rest of the cast, and her acting has always been kinda disappointing esp cause so many people like her. again this is my opinion, you might love her but that's not how i feel.

music:
毛不易 and 周深!! can't go wrong with any of them., the only reason i gave this a 9 and not a 10 is just because the quality of the drama made the music seem "worse" than other ost's, but the songs are still good, it's just the drama.

rewatch value:
nah i'm good

overall:
i know this drama has been pretty popular recently because of the cast, but it's giving like walmart 琉璃 (love and redemption). although i don't like both this fl and the fl in 琉璃, at least that one was actually sad. the only reason i ended up finishing this one is bc i have nothing else to watch rn LOL, i binged all of 且试天下's aired episodes in one day as well as some other dramas. this one is the only one where i'm like "eh i can stop here it's not that interesting anyways".
do what you will with this information.

beginning was good, then it started getting boring

story:
i really liked the "first life" that the main leads had. it was cute. but when things started changing and the second life started i got really confused at first and then it just kinda pissed me off. i didn't like the fact that they were living under different bodies but had the "same spirit" or whatever. 后池 and 清穆 annoyed me so much lmao. after sucking it up for like twenty episodes, i started skipping parts. the only reason i even watched until episode 44 is because of the second couple, 风染 and 二殿下. but then i decided to spoil it for myself and found what happened between those two during the ending so i was like okay i don't want to watch this anymore. UGH I WAS SO PISSED

acting/cast:
idk if it was 许凯's acting or what but 清穆 just annoyed me. the way he talked and acted in front of other people and stuff.. just bleh. but for some reason 白玦 before the "reform" was perfectly fine to me (so maybe it's just the character?). also the main leads just kinda grossed me out after that first life. i love 周冬雨 in other dramas, but idk if historical is the right fit for her.

music:
okay the music is the one thing that i'm super "satisfied" with in this drama. i think they had 刘宇宁、周深、毛不易 so like. you literally cannot go wrong with any of those artists.

rewatch value:
no thanks

overall:
i didn't like it, wouldn't really recommend to any of my friends but that's all my personal opinion. i saw a lot of other people on here liked it so ig that's that.

THE BEST DRAMA I'VE EVER WATCHED (not much of a spoiler here)

this is hands down the best drama i've ever watched. i actually already watched it twice LOL
the storyline is amazing, the actors are attractive asf too.
i actually listened to the ost today bro it was emotional.
this drama allowed me to find the world of wuxia bl dramas, and i am so thankful because that is now my favorite genre of c dramas ever!!
this isnt really a spoiler, but the ending made me cry (think what you will think with that information but it's probably not what you think)
if you haven't watched this, you're missing out!!

edit after like what. two years?
i've rewatched this three times already, still so so so good. the chemistry between them??? hello??? i'm still getting behind the scenes clips on my 抖音 and 小红书, alskdjfasldkfj it's a shame they probably will never have a collab again. i didn't think that the fans were being genuine when they said that they think they're more than friends, but after seeing the behind the scenes clips and comparing them to other situations that each of the actors are in... they're completely different people when they're with one another. yi bo never purposely touches someone (like grabs someone by their hand or puts his arm on someone else's shoulder or anything) but the amount of times he's had physical contact with xiao zhan on purpose or on accident during filming, interviews, etc. is like not countable. he's also usually really cold to everyone and doesn't really talk but he always had so much to say to xiao zhan in the clips i saw. also everytime that they went on stage together, yi bo would always have his head turned to look at xiao zhan, LIKE TELL ME IT ISN'T REAL. and as for xiao zhan, he's usually super polite and would like bow or shake hands with everyone he sees, but in the clips i saw behind the scenes, the two would always play fight like little kids, chase eachother around set, and they would even curse at each other (jokingly). there's also scenes of them on shows being jealous when the other is talking or having physical contact with another person (idk if it's real or not, could be edited) but it seems very real to me. SO YEAH. i'm officially also a part of 博君一肖 cp 粉。

also i still hate the ending i need a better one like right now i can't accept this one. they literally get married in the novel so can china like take the bans off lmao

boy what the heck

when i first heard about them filming this drama, i didn't expect it to be godly. re ba's acting is mid (my opinion don't come for me) and she's gonna be another fox?

story:
well. this story is different than most other xian xia dramas, just because of the mermaid aspect. but while i was watching like two episodes of it everyday as it came out, i wasn't really excited and i wasn't like "ahh it's so good". but i've started it already so i might as well watch part two. there's a lotta xian xia dramas that top this one, so i wasn't really surprised or anything lol. i guess some of it is cool though. it has the basic plot of "i don't want you to die so i will sacrifice myself for you and not tell you anything and make you hate me so you aren't sad" which i'm so tired of seeing. can people start coming up with new ideas lol... this one was too similar to the long ballad, which i also. did not like very much. i think they have the same director? not sure, saw a couple clips on douyin.

acting/cast:
i already said that i don't think re ba's acting is very good so we can move past that. the dumb smiling annoys me lmao. but ren jia lun's historical drama look and acting skills are pretty decent i won't lie. he has the... (idk how to say this word in english but) 气质 that a historical drama male lead should have. i also recognized a lot of the cast from previous re ba and jia lun dramas.

music:
well. i usually like historical drama ost's but this ones also mid. i know mao bu yi sang one of them but idk it doesn't really hit different compared to other ost's.

rewatch value:
yeah i won't be rewatching lol

overall:
i know a lot of people like this one, it's decent... if you're bored and have nothing else to watch. if you want a good one to mess with your emotions that's also xian xia and has the "i dont want you to die so i will sacrifice myself" thing but on another level, watch love and redemption.

meh. (spoilers for romance couples but not the actual storyline)

as a person who literally only watches historical dramas at this point, this one wasn't very... good... imo.

story:
well i didn't really know what to expect cause im gonna be honest i watched this drama because of most of the cast members. i guess the storyline was decent, although it was a little slow. this was the first time i wished a historical drama could be shorter lmao. sometimes i even forgot about the main leads' romantic relationship, which honestly i don't have a problem with because the fighting and wars and stuff like that were supposed to be the "main focus" (?) but yeah the romance between the main leads was not it, just another basic "i'll sacrifice anything for you but i'll also not tell you bc i don't want you to be sad" bs. if i wanted to see that i would have watched love and redemption again lmao. ALTHOUGH i will say, the second couple was so cute. i've seen and heard a lot of other people's opinions about the second couple, saying that it's unnecessary, which i will kinda agree, it is unnecessary, but they were still so cute. i didn't really like the fact that zhao lu si was playing a weak little sister role honestly i wouldve watched a sequel with just zhao lu si and liu yu ning's relationship.

acting/cast:
don't come for me but i don't think di li re ba's acting is... good. well, it's average. a lot of people think that she has godly top tier acting skills, but uh i beg to differ. she has like five facial expressions and her crying scenes are not realistic (AGAIN don't come for me it's my opinion lol). also her hairstylist did her dirtyyy, the middle part is. interesting (shes hella pretty though don't get me wrong). on the other hand, wu lei, zhao lu si, and liu yu ning's acting were all pretty good. i was quite shocked by liu yu ning's acting ngl, i always knew him as a singer, an artist, but i didn't think he would actually be good at acting (cause a lot of idols/singers/dancers these days are... attempting acting... and they're not the best at it). although i despised zhao lu si's role, she played it well. as for wu lei, he portrayed what i had in mind when i first skimmed the summary of the drama.

music:
this is where all the points are coming from. i am weeeeak when it comes to historical drama osts. especially with the ost gods zhang bi chen and liu yu ning in this one. i listened to both osts before even watching the drama. not much else to say, just amazing songs.

rewatch value:
eh no thanks i won't be rewatching this one lol

overall:
i'd say a ... decent drama if you're really bored or if you really really really like the main cast. but if you have better dramas to watch, i'd say not to watch this one lol.

this tv show isn't as fun as i thought it would be

before i start the full review, i watched this show because i knew a lot of the groups in there, like snh48, yuehua entertainment, etc. i found this show from zhang yixing and li wenhan.

now for the review:
this show is a competition, but with a bunch of c pop groups that have already debuted. i've watched other competition shows like youth with you, street dance of china, etc., and they were all super fun to watch. youth and melody is different though, it isn't as entertaining. Every episode was just the groups performing a stage based on a topic or style, and then they would get voted on and whoever was first would have some sort of little advantage in the next one. There wasn't really a "overall" winner. The winner of the show was whoever won the last round, which I think is kind of unfair.

Even though this show wasn't as entertaining as i expected, there were still some really good stages.. li wenhan did not disappoint lol

i also didn't like the fact that the songs they all picked were like kind of old. there were only like 3 songs that were kind of recent, and not from like the 1900s.

in the later rounds, zhang yixing created/remixed songs for the groups, and those stages were better than the first couple rounds.

overall, i'd rate this show like.. a 6. if another season airs, i don't know if i'm going to watch it, i'll have to see which groups are in it.

not as good as i expected but still decent

story:
this may seem like an esports drama bc of the title, but it's really not. the esports concept is only used during the beginning of the drama. 2 high school students who lost contact after graduating and parting ways, who then become friends through the game they both play.. and then things escalate from there. i like how the female lead is the strong. rich one in this drama and not the male lead.

acting/cast:
it's yang yang and dilraba, there's nothing else to say about that. they're amazing and good looking actors.

music:
i only paid attention to the song sung by mika and curley gao and it was really good.

rewatch value:
i don't really rewatch these types of dramas (unless it's love020) so i prolly wouldn't rewatch it.

overall:
as i said, this drama isn't what i thought it would be, but then again i don't even like romance dramas that much so.. i will say though, they do make a cute couple in the drama.

okay wow loved it (mini spoiler at the end but if you don't want to see it just don't scroll down)

i didn't know what to expect when first watching this drama. it was really interesting from the start but i was also able to take breaks in between episodes. as an avid historical drama watcher, i can usually predict the storyline, but with this drama everything was a surprise.

i loved all the characters in this drama and their acting was on point. especially the ones who are really good at fighting... just out of this world. i even liked some of the villains.

honestly i didn't pay much attention to the music which was pretty shocking because usually the music is one of the more important aspects to me, but for some reason the music just didn't stand out this time.

i don't know about rewatching yet as i just finished this yesterday. i'm gonna need a break before even thinking about rewatching it. but there is a chance i will in the future.

overall just a really well put together drama. had some humorous aspects and the fighting scenes (again) are so good.

MINI SPOILER (except you'd only understand if you watched the drama):
i know they're probably planning to film a season two, so i want to see more of 黄蛮儿, he seems like such a wholesome person and he's really good at fighting so i wanna see more of that. i also want to see 徐凤年 at his full potential. also the guy from 龙虎山 who said he was gonna be the best in the world... i wanna see where that goes

battles are fun to watch, but the fans are so biased.

this show was really fun to watch, but the fans were so biased.

the parts i enjoyed the most was the interaction between the leaders/captains. whether it was their stages, battles, or just them talking with each other. it always made me laugh, and especially the parts where they would use chinese idioms to explain how they felt about the stage/dance.

SPOILERS IN THE REVIEW!!

now for the review..

there were so many stages where wang yibo's team got first, but one of the other teams were more interesting and skilled.
dont get me wrong, wang yibo and his team are super super skilled and talented, but there were many stages where they did not deserve first.

i really wanted huang xiao to get in the finals, but he lost against yang kai in the freestyle battle. i know yang kai is a super super talented b-boy, but i was getting so tired of his repetitive skills. when huang xiao finally brought something different to the freestyle battle, i was so happy. sadly, he didn't make it into the finals.

i'm kind of glad they put bouboo against yang kai in the freestyle battle, because i did not want the final 2 in the whole competition to both be from wang yibo's group. i kind of wished bouboo won tho, because i was so tired of seeing yang kai's breakdancing. bouboo's musicality and his moves are so interesting to watch. he doesn't use like "insane skills" everytime, but that's why i like watching him dance.

other people just use skills to wow the audience, and it works most of the time, which is really annoying. but as a dancer of 11 years myself, having skills does not equal being good at dance. skills are only a little part of dance. musicality, coordination, choreography, sharpness or softness, movement flow or isolation depending on the music, facial expressions.. those are the most important aspects of dance. a skill looks the same every time. you can only wow people so many times.

bouboo continues to wow people every single time he freestyles, no matter what type of music is being played. he pays attention to the music, listens to the beat, finds space in the song to add freeze movements, or areas where the song is flowy to add flowy movements, etc. no wonder why he is a world champion. his body naturally just responds to any beat, any song. also, i felt like wang yibo wanted bouboo to win more rather than yang kai.

during the last stage of the 25 rounds of freestyle battle, i felt so bad for xiao chao. the fans were obviously going to vote for yang kai because of his b-boy skills. xiao chao did extremely well in the battle even knowing the fact that he was losing and he knew his stamina was not as good as yang kai because he is a hip hop dancer and yang kai is a b-boy. i will admit, yang kai is very good and he held up so well in the battle. i was really proud of xiao chao for holding up too, he gave the competition his all. it's really a shame that xiao chao didn't win, i really wanted him to.

i'm gonna be honest, i didn't even smile when yang kai won. i mean.. good for him and wang yibo i guess-

i started this show wanting wang yibo to win, but i realized how biased the fans were. my favoritism started to shift throughout the show from yibo to zhang yi xing. his dances are so good and every time i finish watching him dance i just wished i was there to like scream or something.

my favorite stages this season were:
- huang xiao and qiao zhi's duet
- ak dong's hip hop routine in the semi finals
- literally all of xiao chao's stages
- zhang yi xing's chinese style stages
- wang jia er's stage where he was in a virtual world

overall:
my favorite trainees were xiao chao and huang xiao. i'm glad they made it far in the competition, and many many people got to see their skills. it's a shame huang xiao didn't make it into the finals, i know his stage would've been so good.

yall would probably hate it

im a person that is uncomfortable with the whole concept of relationships, and i mainly just respect the attractiveness of people lol, so keep that in mind when reading my review.

also, i really needed this ending after what happened in love alarm s2, so thank you to the director of nevertheless,

story:
i really hated some episodes of this drama, especially the ones near the end. i loved the last episode (but i know a lot of yall would really strongly disagree). im happy with how the whole thing turned out. i've kinda always rooted for jaeon since the beginning, but near the end (like eps 7-8) i started just hoping that nabi would end up with noone, because jaeon had fucked up so badly. i never liked do hyeok. he doesn't match with nabi at all. sure, he's sweet, but i feel like he's more of a little brother than an actual boyfriend. yes, jaeon is toxic and he was a walking red flag, but id like to think that he's changed near the end of the drama. yall can come for me idrc

acting/cast:
song kang is so bad at acting- there mightve been like 2 scenes where i thought he was decent but otherwise.. i don't think he plays the character *that* well. he's just attractive and that's why he's popular (which i'm not complaining btw, i'm not that picky about how good someone's acting is). the female lead (nabi - idk her real name) is pretty good at acting. she's also pretty :)

music:
i got so tired of the music so i'm just not gonna say anything abt it. it's not necessarily bad.

rewatch value:
i might rewatch a couple episodes in the future, but definitely not the whole drama.

overall:
don't watch this if you like sweet innocent boys lol. it'll probably make you really mad.

decent drama, good that it's not too long though

story:
honestly did not fit the description that it was given, "悬疑剧“ (idk this in english... maybe "detective"?)... it was more like 狗血with some 偶像剧mixed in... but idk i still enjoyed watching it. also because it was only 12 episodes, i could finish it in one sitting and be done with it.

cast:
not a fan of 邓家佳's acting... idk the way she just stares or smiles kinda creeps me out. also the voice.. idk if it's original (doesn't sound like it) or if she got a voice actor or something, but it doesn't sound right. 张新成surprised me though, he's really natural and i can understand every word he says without having to read the caption. i've watched dramas with him before, but i didn't really notice his acting back then.

music:
ngl didn't really pay attention, so i'm not commenting on this one

rewatch:
i probably won't rewatch, just because i usually don't with most dramas, unless they're like heavenly

overall:
good, short, drama if you're bored

a decent drama, ending is wholesome

i personally don't really like modern dramas. i watched 周生如故 (one and only) first, and i really liked the drama but i cried so much. after watching 一生一世(forever and ever), i guess you could say it brought more closure after what happened in 周生如故. i don't really like 任嘉伦's acting in this drama, his voice sounded kinda weird. at first i thought it was just the voiceover or like they edited it, but when i watched a variety show with him on it, i realized that's literally just what he sounds like. 白鹿 is an amazing actor like always, her chemistry with 任嘉伦 was amazing in 周生如故, but in my opinion, nothing will ever beat her chemistry with 罗云熙.

i cried a lot in this drama aswell, but it was only when clips of 周生如故 started playing or the song 如故 started playing. i'm glad i watched this drama to bring closure to me but at the same time i kinda wish i didn't watch it.

i apologize for my use of chinglish in this review lol i was debating either doing this or just full chinese

wow. just amazing

i love love love crime dramas, and this one satisfied all of my needs
sometimes, i need a break from romance and this was just so interesting and addicting to watch.

story:
all the mini cases that feed into one big case are so interesting and the way that each case is solved is also very unique UGH I JUST LOVE EVERYTHING

acting/cast:
everyone's acting was so good, like everyone: the protagonists, antagonists, side characters, etc.
oh jihyeok is v attractive lol..
the people of TJ headquarters ARE SO GOOD AT ACTING BRO

music:
i didn't really pay attention to the music? but it didnt like affect my watching negatively or anything

rewatch value:
i dont really rewatch a lot of dramas overall, but this one seems worth it to revisit in the future

overall:
amazing second season, i'm so happy that they came out with a 2nd one! i hope theres a third season so we can finally see what happened with oh ji hyeok's mom
just being able to see the whole crew together is nice too

the ending was so cute~ them running in the grass that was an allusion to the beginning of the drama where they were also running AOSDCJNU AH I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF THIS DRAMA

SUCH A CUTE DRAMA, makes you want to smile every second

story:
i really loved the first half of the drama, where it was set at the high school. those days were so cute and sweet, it made me almost look forward to school... watched most of it in one night and i was literally smiling every second

acting/cast:
i didn't really know how to feel about the cast beforehand, because one of them was an idol and i wasn't too familiar with the ml. but they both portrayed their role really well and THEY HAVE SO MUCH CHEMISTRY. there were a lot of scenes where they were just playing around and it literally felt like they were a real couple.

music:
cute music, i added one of the songs into my playlist. (but i'm more a fan of historical ost so)

rewatch value:
i don't usually rewatch dramas, but i feel like i might revisit the first half of this one in the future (when i have no motivation to study lol)

overall:
amazing drama. didn't expect to like it at all (honestly thought it was gonna be cringe), but it was really cute and sweet.

not a bad drama, but also not like SUPER good

story:
the story started off a little confusing with like five different families/clans or whatever, but once you get into it, it makes a lot of sense. ngl the ending was a bit anti-climactic, so i wasn't really a fan of that. i also enjoyed the clan drama lol.

acting/cast:
i mean... it's 杨洋 and 露思, they're both amazing actors and honestly i didn't expect any chemistry but there is definitely some between them heh. i also saw many behind the scenes clips and they look like they have a lot of fun playing around backstage lmao.

music:
LITERALLY AMAZING i loved every single song. 刘宇宁 and 汪苏泷 are both on my top three favorite artists list. every single one of their songs are good.

rewatch value:
i don't usually rewatch many dramas. so idk about this one

overall:
a decent drama, good cast, storyline, and amazing music. i recommend it!
