I watched both dramas. The thing is this one is too long. They dragged out the series as much as they could. The characters were really awesome. Also the reason I liked this drama less than the thailand one is because how SA and abuse is normalized. I was glad they took the SA part out of the thailand one. But yeah this drama shined because of the characters. I loved almost all of them.

The excution of shin jae ha's entry was def bad because there was almost little to zero surprises about him at all. But the trope you are mentioning is really common. I could already mention multiple 'nice guys' who turn out to be psychopathic serial killers. Even take nam goong min for example. He played that type of role in a drama. But many dramas doing that trope, actually executes it well. and it is also common for dramas to make out one character as a psychopathic killer but he actually turns out to be a shady guy who likes black or something or has done less serious crimes. How vincenzo's Teacyeon connected with the audience so well is because of the execution. Also how well the character is played. Taecyeon's role was a surprise as well because he usually plays a good main lead so this one was a really welcomed change. But for shin Jae ha, almost all the dramas we see him in dub his as a crazy psychopath or a really gray character. Even though performances are decent, if the execution is bad, your are bound to feel this wat.

He is def a villian. But episodes have shown there is someone above him. So if ur like me, delusional, Ha Jun might help them. But yeah so far he def is the villian

Think about it, if th female ended up with second ml, the person who u think the male lead would be the second ml. Thereb is no win either way unless second male lead gets a girl too. Like looking at love alarm for example. The female lead ends up with sml and the supposed ml ended up as sml.
