I saw a republican era thing he's in and it's tempting but I'm not even sure what it is. it's not 10 years of unrequited love, right?about your first impression of zhaozhao, SAME. when I saw a clip from one of their first lives I was taken aback. part of me even thought the shyness/cuteness is a bit of an overkill but now I know it's just them being their silly selves

yeah I didn't want it to sound like xixi is worse or something, I think he's also an amazing actor but for some reason the effect is not as strong with him for me. it may be because xixi and chusan are a little more similar than zhaozhao and liuyi for me. or maybe because I knew xixi before from wuliang and painted skin so I already approached scd knowing him and could somehow look past chusan? meanwhile liuyi was my first time seeing zhaozhao and he's so different off screen so they really don't mix for me. have you seen xixi in anything before scd? if not, then it would explain why our experience is slightly different.

also I lied I sometimes see chusan and liuyi in xizhao, when they do photoshoots they sometimes possess them haha

you're right, I think the dubbing plays a part too, a voice is such a big and important part of a person after all!!

that makes sense, taking breaks is a good idea with such heavy topics. I was watching it when it aired ie 2 episodes per week and it still felt like too much sometimes

I've seen quite a lot of xizhao content by now but it's funny how it doesn't really impact my view of the characters. especially when it comes to zhaozhao and liuyi, they are completely separate entities in my mind. I guess that's a testament to his acting skills

well if you don't want to then nobody will force you, but if you grow to like the characters in season 1, you'll probably want to see season 2 as well. that said you can watch season 1 as a standalone, the plot of that season is a complete story from what I remember

they're both based on the same real life case I think
