watched 3/4th but dropped it cause I couldn't connect with the fl and their university life

I liked Zhai Xiaowen and Zhou Keyu but not the fl. I just couldn't connect with her. She was also portrayed as really stupid that she doesn't understand basic things between people her age even when she was 16. The high school part with the family dynamics and other friends were wholesome but the university life just kept on dragging and became boring. fl and ml were really close when in high school but suddenly in uni they're extremely shy to touch each other and blah blah. I understand why jing xichi did not want to confess as soon as he realized he liked her because he was afraid their friendship will be destroyed because of how fl treated song cong after he confessed. She just easily chose to forgo 3 years close friendship when it was not even just friends, they were close neighbours and family friends. Of course rejection was needed since there's no reason to give the other person hope but idk she was kinda just being ignorant and a little mean. Like I said, if this was a random guy or just a classmate makes sense why you would avoid him but that kinda reaction after a long friendship even making him feel like he owed her a sorry for saying that was just giving red flags. I still tried to continue and reached ep 22 but I can't go any further so I'm dropping it.
