I feel both are quite type casted but I think that’s more due to what c-drama demands. But we agree to disagree

Oh I absolutely agree that she was a mess, but just learning palace rules at 15 seems to be on point for the visuals of messy, and unbecoming of a young lady in court. I think the character developments are quite different. One was basically abandoned and bullied since birth whilst the other was born into divine being and basically lives in splendor in a place or rules and strict teachings

I’ll give it a go but her actions are pretty rough. She tugs at him and the skin ship on her end, doesn’t seem “graceful.” i dont know how to put it, but her mannerisms bother me. I’m being critical lol, it’s hard to watch after LLTG

He is the man I’ve been waiting to meet! I hope he is CSS male form and comes back to take care of her from bullies, mom included. Lol but that’s just me day dreaming

Bummed that YD is typical spoiled fairy that acts in her own accord and speaks with no repercussions. Yang Zi, could be more “gentle,” in her movements and motions, she is always so rough with TZ. I can’t help but think that the nip slip scene; he was really offended and annoyed with her. Lol. So far acting is mediocre, going to see how character and story develops.

parents were walking on eggshells to try and get CSS out of this proposal thinking it was a loveless marriage.... it was so sad watching them berate her. And that short glimpse at CSS whilst the words were coming out made me tear up because she believed it :(

I also like to think that she keeps berating her so she can keep her daughter to herself LOL, she secretly thinks too highly of her daughter, and no one will ever really be deserving of her CSS.

It's just CSS' character. So, we know that she is street smart just not book smart. As to remembering what people say, we know that she has a hard time remembering- example, when she couldn't deliver a message properly. Strict etiquette, like many things become second nature with practice, which we know she lacks. Mom doesn't teach her because CSS is not like her military (disciplined), mom doesn't have patience.

Agreed! already a CLASSIC in my book! I think i've rewatched it with anyone whose visited my house this past month and we are all hooked.

if you are dropping by to see if this is worth watching.... the 8.7 review does not do it justice. The story telling and character development alone is a 10 but factor in set design, color moods, and acting- its off the charts good. saying it again. This takes c-drama to a new level and is a tough act to follow. I tried to watch immortal samsara yesterday and it didn't carry the same momentum and story development. Not saying I won't watch, just had to place on back burner

i think it’s just more bratty in nature, vs the males who conspire secretly or get crass and sarcastic. I do see that they intend to show rival tendencies this way. it would be super refreshing to see a true double face FL plotting demises for counter characters the whole series lol
