Personally, although I never liked the slave or manipulation trope, the girls story doesn't phase me. We've literally seen worse in BLs. Heck, half of the BLs we've seen have similar trope and tropes way more toxic than this. Even SunsetxVibes literally have a similar manipulation going on right now in ep 2. I could go on and on. - Agree to be in a fake relationship with me? - Come clean my house? - Come to the set and deliver something to me? - Stay with me? I can literally start naming BLs and hetero romances with similar plots but they are seen as cute and they have high ratings😹.
So, I don't really get the complaint saying it's a total waste of time but I understand that many people aren't into GLs and that's okay. That explanation makes more sense to me than complaining about the GL plot when the same trope gets eaten up in BLs.
Since the beginning of this show, Rak has always given Mut money to screw him and Mut always accepted. But then I realised why Mut always accepted. He could see that Rak has closed his heart off and when he gives out money, it makes Rak feel more in control. Rak uses money to keep their relationship transactional and that is something that Mut understood.
Now, what am I driving at? I just wanna appreciate the man Mut is. During the beach scene when Mut ask Rak to give them a try, he came down to Rak's level. He accepted that Rak bought him, therefore he is his. See, him agreeing that he sold himself to Rak and is a dog isn't just for laughs or play. Mut knows exactly what he is doing. Speaking the language Rak understands actually helped him break down Rak's defences and crossed into his space. That was the beginning of Rak opening himself up for Mut. I believe that was when he began considering staying. Surprisingly, I was moved when they had that conversation at the beach and I think that was the second most beautiful scene of this episode. He made Rak feel safe and Rak in turn rewarded him by opening up to him and staying with him.
Damn! I nearly became a poet. Anymore and I'll start writing love scores🤭
