I love that Japanese dramas are short and easy to watch. They don't have the same production quality as Korean dramas, but it's definitely gotten better over the past few years. I fell in love with Dori in Coffee and Vanilla and decided to watch this one. Though there isn't really a "crime" involved anywhere, the plot is decent. I enjoyed the love triangles and was satisfied with the outcome. However, said outcome was rather predictable and I knew half way through how things would turn out. All in all, the series isn't anything spectacular, but still enjoyable enough to watch all the way through.

After the mess known as "That's My Candy" I am thrilled at this season of Close Friends. Season 1 left a lot to be desired with each episode being it's own (somewhat) complete story line. Fortunately, the blending of two of the couples from the first season was done very well. And the final cut scene tells us there's a strong possibility of reuniting the entire 2Moons/Gen Y cast for a third season. If this followed the trend HIStory did, the writers will learn and improve each new season. One thing I hope improves with our cast is Kimmon and Copter's kissing chemistry. They've been in enough series together at this point that they should be more comfortable in this area. Ohm and Fluke don't have this issue. While they don't use tongue or go full open mouth, they definitely are more comfortable with each other than Kimmon and Copter. This may be a simple workshop fix, which would be great because I love their chemistry otherwise.

Love/Hate relationship

This is badly written, poorly acted, and obnoxiously directed. AND YET, something pulled me in and wouldn't let go. Who watches an entire season of a show they nearly hate? This girl, right here. I have no idea why I can't rate this show higher or lower than I did. It's possible that this is one of those things that grows on you and gets better each time you watch it. Does that mean I might rewatch it later on? It is in fact possible. Can I tell you even one good thing about it? Well, Red is pretty hot. Some of the costumes are really sexy... That's all I've got ?

I cannot say enough good things about this drama. The cast is spot-on, the directing is wonderful, and the soundtrack could not be any better. I absolutely love the social issues that are dealt with and the way they are handled. The heroes and and villains in this series and the way the cast did an amazing job of portraying their characters. The settings are beautiful, the costume design is flawless, and I truly appreciate how the soundtrack tells its own story and pulls you in. I cried a lot in this series but it definitely has a happy ending.

WTF!??? I'm pissed. To go through all of that, friends to lovers to family acceptance just to end like that? I was not prepared for that at all. I specifically stopped watching historical dramas in order to stop crying all the time and yet I keep running into series like this lately. How are you going to break our hearts that way??? The actors were both gorgeous and very talented. The storyline and imagery were captivating. I have no complaints with all four episodes if I stop watching prior to the last 10 minutes. This is HIStory season 3 all over again for me.

I adore this series for a number of reasons. Darren Chen and Sabrina Chen have fantastic chemistry and play off of each other beautifully. This was only the second series I'd seen Darren in (after Meteor Garden) and I loved him just as much in this one. There is a LOT of silliness, but unlike many other dramas, it's very well placed and helps the story move along. Often times I will skip an episode here and there when things start to drag, but that never happened with this drama. Even the secondary relationships were well done and very entertaining. Definitely rewatchable.

Hmmmm

I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on this series. Some loved it, though I'm not sure why, and some hated it, though I'm not sure why. The acting was great. The storyline started out great, but just got confusing, and the ending wasn't even a real ending. I'm not sure if they were expecting to produce more episodes and just didn't, or if that's the way they truly intended to end the series. Does our psycho male lead go crazy? Yes he does. Does he sexually harass our innocent male lead repeatedly? Yes he does. But does our innocent make lead keep inviting him to stay with him and keep going to stay at our psycho's apartment? Yes he does. And when the relationship finally truly starts, who is it to initiate? That's right, it's always the quiet ones who surprise you. Because of the dive into confusion and the finality of complete wtf, I don't find this one rewatchable. But hey, at least the cast is attractive. Even the completely pointless brother who gets thrown in twords the end even though he adds absolutely no substance to the plot whatsoever.

I am a big fan of Thai dramas, and this one is so good. Most of them I have seen have a very strong sexual tension aspect to them, but 2gether stays away from that and on the lighter side of romance and real issues that come with new relationships. My favorite element in this drama is how real the feeling of lack of confidence comes across. How many times do we miss out on love in real life simply because we overthink and fear rejection? How many times do we let our friends opinions influence how we think about the person we like? Ever worried about how your family will react to a new love interest? This show has the perfect mix of humor, strife, and budding romance for me. It’s also not very often that both of the male leads are this attractive. With the exception of TharnType and Win and Team in Until We Meet Again, I truly haven’t been this impressed with the casting and cute chemistry of the leads. I am currently watching Still 2gether and am excited to see how this series wraps up.

I’ll just go ahead and write my review for HIStory seasons 1-4 as one review (including both of the season 3 stories).
Season 1 – this is actually just 3 completely unrelated stories. “My Hero” is a supernatural film that is really just kind of weird. Hero’s girlfriend is mistakenly taken by the angel of death and in an effort to keep her soul on earth with Hero, he shoves her into the first available body who happens to also be in love with Hero. “Stay Away from Me” is better and deals with a taboo of new step-brothers who develop feelings for each other and a friend who desperately wants them to be together. “Obsession” is even better and actually rather well written even though there is a supernatural element to it as the lead dies and wakes up alive 9 years earlier. “Obsession” is the only episode in Season 1 that actually opens up the physical side of BL dramas. It’s clear that the writers got better with each episode. Thankfully the remaining seasons were not like this.
Season 2 – This season is 2 separate stories broken into 4 episodes each. Episodes 1-4 are called “Right or Wrong” and involve a professor/student relationship. Episodes 5-8 “Crossing the Line” are about a volleyball team manager and his junior he recruits to play for the team due to his natural ability. The relationship that develops between them is sincere and set at a good pace for only being 4 episodes. There is also another step-brother relationship in this one (this seems to be a favorite theme among the HIStory writers as we will see it yet again in Season 4).
Season 3 – “Trapped” is a hate turned love story between a goofy police officer and a super hot mob boss who is trying to get his outfit to go legit. There’s a secondary love story between a gun for hire and another police officer that’s also really cute. This one has a good looking cast, mostly decent acting, and a good storyline. However, the very final scene leaves you a bit unsatisfied and wanting to know what will happen in the future. Perhaps they will do a follow up season with this one at some point.
Season 3 – “Make Our Days Count” is both my favorite season and my least favorite season. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but get your tissues ready because you WILL cry. While Song Wei En and Huang Juan Zhi are the main couple in this series, my favorite couple is played by Zhang Han Yuan and Liu Wei Chen, and I’m assuming they were a lot of fans favorites as they appear as a couple in season 4 and are set to have their own upcoming season of “Make Our Days Count2”. I would also like to point out that our main couple makes an appearance in a cross-over project with Japan “Life-Love on the Line”.
Season 4 – “Close to You” is the latest season currently available. It deals with 3 best friends who work together as wedding planners. Li Cheng and Mu Ren are both “straight” men who fall in love. Again there is a step-brother relationship that actually gets the parents involved this time. Let me tell you, mom is a bit of an odd one. And of course as stated previously, our favorite couple from season 3 makes a really cute appearance in a few of the episodes.

I know I'm late to the game, but I just finished watching it. Bai Lu, Xu Kai, and Toby Lee are always fantastic. This has my absolute favorite opening credit track of any CDrama I've seen so far. The story is engaging, the music is entertaining, and cast is fantastic. I love the fighting and that they acknowledge the fact that a female soldier would be physically weaker than a male soldier instead of going all GI Jane with the role. However, what I really want to talk about is Liu SiBo in this drama. I could not take my eyes off of him every time he was on the screen. Does he box in real life? If so I need to know how to watch that. ?

I almost feel like this is a case of "the ends justify the means" because this drama ends well. However, the first half of the series is really rough to sit through. I'm not sure what went wrong, but the acting was terrible in the beginning which is really strange because I've seen much of this cast in other things and they're fantastic. Thankfully the acting and cast chemistry gets on track the second half of the series and it becomes extremely entertaining. If you can hang on, it's good. If you dropped it, it's understandable. My advice: skip a few episodes and stick with it.

I love that this show didn't turn out to be what I was expecting. This is a drama about an underappreciated, underrated pop star and the challenges he faces in order for people to take him seriously in music, life, and even in love. Z.Tao is fantastic and we get to hear his vocal ability both in pop and hip-hop. I get the feeling much of this drama is based on his real life struggle with his previous record contract. The love story is the perfect amount of goofy and serious, and I appreciate the fact that its the pop star fighting to prove himself and his intentions to the girl. This one is definitely re-watchable.

What happens when you put six gorgeous actors/actresses in lead roles? You get Sweet Teeth! Honestly I first clicked on this drama because I mistook our main male lead for Evan Lin in the picture. Regardless, I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. The storyline is pretty good, but my favorite thing in this drama (besides the characters) was the music. It was fun and energetic, and the nightclub scene made me want to get up and dance along. Bonus educational tidbit: I now know the proper way to brush my teeth as well as what foods not to eat with metal braces. If you are reading subtitles, most episodes are spot on but there is one where the timing is really off so be aware of that. For the time being you will have to watch all the episodes on iQiyi because they aren't all on YouTube.
