That exactly my point though. Just because something "happened" to you does not mean it will happen to someone else. She wants her daughter not to "suffer" the same fate as her and in order to do that she is willing to force a loyal and good general to die and to divorce his wife. Her good intentions do not justify her actions.

True, but that wasn't why she was about to sentence them to death at one point. She felt because her lover "failed" her that everyone else's love was pointless. That's selfish and weird. I'm also not buying her pretense of wanting what's best for her daughter because how could she think her daughter being in a loveless marriage by force would result in anything good?
