I just started this but maybe it's not for me. I really like the FL but many of her modern dramas seem a bit uneventful…
I totally get you. I didn't watch Our Generation because I heard it wasn't that romantic, but the others you named, I only got through them with lots of fast forwarding. That's the only way to watch these Chinese modern dramas. They throw in a lot of rah rah China is the best in X industry/sport, probably to pass censorship easier.
Two things that are refreshing right off the bat: 1. FL parents are not sexist and want her to be the successor of the family business 2. FL happily does grunt work of filing, even singing!
I've seen way too much son favoritism/sexism and rich kids who land cushy jobs in these modern dramas.
I'm usually fine with these siblings to lovers stories, but when he told the story of taking care of her since she was born a premie, and his memory of teaching her to ride a bike...it give me the ick.
This is such classic kdrama! Rich CEO, poor girl, childhood friend SML, a big lie, and pretty soon we'll see the disapproving in-laws. It's kind of nice to see all the hit tropes again. No magic or weird past life stuff, not too much corporate jargon, no crazy villains.
Having watched A LOT of American and British political thrillers, this just misses the mark. I was really bored in the last few episodes and only half watched just to finish it.
Man, I just watched the preview for episodes 33 and 34, and honestly, I can’t help but pity CZ…Yes, he keeps…
He needs to see FL+ML making out to finally get it through his head that she doesn't like him, smh. All their intimate moments and public displays of love were not enough before. I can't pity a dummy.
I know that actor playing his colleague is Uyghur, but he really just looks like a white guy. I keep getting confused thinking I'm seeing a white guy every time he shows up. It's his blue eyes!
I think this drama has the dumbest assassination plan I've ever seen: destroy an entire city to kill a few people. And why shoot arrows at the innocent civilians. It just doesn't make sense.
Mudan has given enough motivational speeches for 4 dramas. I'm all for strong women and I always hate the Chinese favoritism of sons, but they're really knocking us over the head with the feminism.
