They started to looked at each other differently before he died. Then she went looking for the three soul shards and try to make each one to fall in love with her in order to revive Youqin. She fell in love with them as well and she realized why each of one was created. Someone here told me that in the novel the only shard that she loved was Fiery and I know exactly why. He was my favorite one too. His pure heart was beautiful. Such an innocent soul. Then when they went back to the heaven realm he already knew that he was profoundly in love with her so he was so sweet and she did too
