It’s definitely worth your time.
I've been looking forward to this ever since I heard it would have a drama adaptation cause the novel is one of my favourite. I almost had a heart attack when I heard it was released ( for one hour). The drama did justice to the arcs and characters; the actors were perfectly cast and had great chemistry. However, they changed some things ( added some characters / removed some) and removed my favourite line, which made me a little upset. One thing I didn’t like was the change in the plot for the last doors. I was looking forward to seeing the plot twist from the novel, but because of censorship, they changed the concept to gaming, which also altered the plot twist. Nonetheless, the actors, actresses, and crew all did an excellent job. The songs were also great, and the script was very well done. I'm glad I lived long enough to watch this. Was this review helpful to you?
My opinion on the drama
I have been a fan of cdrama for many years now and I’ve seen my share of series. This drama is one of the best of all I’ve seen. it is very easy to watch, i binge watched many episodes and it felt like i only watched three eps. It had everything you would want in a drama: good plot, good actor/actress, well written characters, comedy, touching romance, good friendships, and so many tropes well done( i really liked the plot twists in the later episodes of the drama..).The miscommunication not only didn’t frustrate me but i really enjoyed it as the angst was so good ( the yearning was crazy work…) and the divorce era was not very dragged. And i like how they prefer to live and die together rather than one of them secretly sacrificing themselves and leaving their significant other behind. ( this is NOT a spoiler)
The ost was the very cherry on top, i love minghao's voice smmm!!
Overall, it was a drama that went way beyond my expectations, I’m so glad i watched this.
It is definitely not overrated and deserves its praises.

My opinion about ML's character
I started this drama because of the second couple, i loved their dynamics and they were my main motivation to finish it.(Second couple are my biological parents btw, I don’t make the rules.)
The drama was actually very good, it was very easy to watch, with the right amount of romance, politics and harem elements. The side characters were well written and easy to love. The main couple was also cute.
Overall, i liked it and gave it a rather high rating.
There’s just one thing that baffles me.
Why is it that i saw few negative comments about the female lead’s cold personality and her not reciprocating ML's feelings sooner but I haven’t seen a single person talk about the ML's pushy side?
Its crystal clear the male lead is devoted to his partner and has everything planned out for her and does his best to ensure she’s happy and safe that makes him a green flag in many ways (and i love his shamelessness) but there were clear moments of him being pushy with fl and not respecting her boundaries.. while watching i found those scene quite uncomfortable but i didn’t pay it much attention since she acted okay afterwards,
But I just don’t understand why this flaw of ml is overlooked but the fl being cold towards everyone equally and not falling for ml at first sight is considered such a horrible thing?
And regarding the ending,
I’ve always thought a drama needing comments from other watchers or reading a novel to make the audience understand the plot better means it was incompetent in communicating its story clearly.
I finished the drama and had to spend an hour going through all comments from mdl and twitter just to understand wth was happening in the final episode.
This is just my opinion about some aspects of the drama otherwise it was a good drama and I quite enjoyed it.
