XJX is actually the most famous male character in Chinese romance costume novels. This is the reason this role is much coveted. In what way is XJX noisy? I actually loved the way he low-key courted SM, visiting her at odd hours in her room, no doubt trying to find out more about her without making it obvious he is observing her. He is, after all, a topnotch spy. Or maybe he just wanted to see her and be close to her.
If you found this annoying instead of wondering why he did the things he did, it's probably not your cup of tea. Better read another novel where the flirtation is obvious. The courtship in this novel is subtle, mostly not in your face, until much later. The reader figures things out herself, such as when SM finds out XJX bought all the mansions near hers in the most expensive area in town. When you find out why he did that, it's more swoon-worthy than blatant flirtation.

Are you referring to Xie Jing Xing? What did he do to the Shen family that you don't like? Shen Miao and XJX first meet in Chapter 10 and their lives get more and more entangled as the novel progresses and they plot schemes to overcome enemies. You'll find out later that their lives had already gotten entangled in her previous life.

Not one that will stress you out. Shen Miao at first fancied Prince Ding/Jin but, in her second life, she grew out of it before she met Xie Jing Xing. Pei Lang loves SM but didn't pursue her and even made her first life miserable because he was trying to fight his feelings. In their second life, XJX felt jealous of PL, but his jealousy didn't cause issues between him and SM.

Dylan is a rare breed. Aside from being extraordinarily handsome, he is kind, making it to the list of kindest cdrama artists for several years now. He is a hard worker, a self-made man, not depending on capital backing to make it in C-Ent. So, I hope all the bullying he has experienced in this industry don't make him bitter or mean like his attackers. There are a few truly good men out there as it is. This is why I always try to support him as much as I can 😊

I don't know much about other actors to tell whether they're good or bad. But I do know that Dylan is against playing dirty. He has written at least two rap song about not playing dirty games, probably including paying YXHs and water armies to either lift him up or smear other actors. And being the most bullied actor in C-Ent somehow proves his philosophy. He gets attacked relentlessly by antis paid to smear him but he doesn't pay others to counter those attacks or to attack antis' faves. The fact that other actors don't get bullied as much as he does could mean they have capital backing, the same capital backing that have been bullying Dylan. But I don't know who have powerful backers, I only know Dylan doesn't. Having little time to waste on dealing with toxicity in C-Ent, I follow only Dylan now.

I can't help feeling sorry for poor Lu Ling, a country boy contending against a dazzling sophisticated beauty like XJX. Lu Ling would have been a good husband to SM, but she and XJX belong together.
Regarding actor bashing here, it turned me off kdramas forever. I hated that the industry itself seemed to be sabotaging actors. I still watch one or two kdramas a year, but not as much as before, when I was continuously watching them. And it pushed me towards cdramas which is actually good, since the fantasy elements and humor in cdramas, like the ones in GOTD, are more my type. However, the sabotage of the industry against actors is also happening in C-Ent, so, I've been limiting my exposure to cdramas, since I don't want to watch any dramas of actors who encourage this behavior. Right now, I just watch Dylan who, I'm sure, doesn't play dirty.

Me too! Having discussions like this about the stories, swooning and laughing over how a headstrong and arrogant ML falls head over heels in love with the FL, was my reason for joining mydramalist. Who would have known that I would spend more time fending off hate against the actors and actresses than just enjoying the dramas with those who are also into the stories?

Lol, "XJX would never bow to anyone's will except SM's" makes me grin from ear-to-ear coz it's so true, cute, romantic and heartwarming; the rebellious, arrogant and headstrong XJX tamed by SM 🤣 I can't wait to see XJX taking care of their sons 🥰

For me, the reason for the assault doesn't matter. Both women schemed for assault to happen and even watched it. Granted, Shen Miao's sister was willing for her to suffer the same fate but witnessing an assault happening without doing something to stop it, even if the victim is her mortal enemy, is, for me, the worst thing a woman could do, a punishment worse than death. Surely, the author could have thought of other ways for SM to escape Prince Yu's clutches without becoming an active participant of a girl's violation. But I guess readers have been warned about the kind of FL the book has by calling her "malicious".
