On episode 13 and your comment made me watch the opening like never before. Even if I don't get it, the animation…
Actually, I made a mistake in my previous analysis coz I didn't notice that the yellow box turned white at the end. But the white and gray box in the beginning seem to be XM and her dad (as initially thought). But there are changes in colors that I can't figure out, like did white change to yellow and changed back to white at the end? Why? And is the blue box QSQ?
Yeah I always knew the clues are there, but I couldn’t figure it out until towards the last few episodes.
Seems like the white box is XM, the gray box is her dad (what everyone thought). The white becomes yellow? and blue is QSQ? I still can't figure out why the white becomes yellow and turns back to white at the end.
i feel like the ending was really exciting and it was cool how all the pieces came together. but on the other…
It showed him to be upright to the very end. Thus, he is respected and warmly remembered by all his colleagues who are infinitely inspired by his example. It shows that the quantity of years one has lived is not as important as the quality of life. And by quality, I mean in terms of living with principles, not just materialistically, though he did achieve material success, having risen to deputy captain at such young age and apparently having enough money to sponsor an esports team and give colleagues and friends gifts.
This drama can be seen as a litmus test for reviewers on this site. It has a very popular and trendy enough actor…
Nobody can reason with immature/petty antifans. They downrate dramas of actors they perceive as competitors of their faves. And they give 10/10 to mediocre dramas of their faves. The only solution is to scrap online scoring systems like MDL. They can't be relied on because of unscrupulous scorers.
7.8 is ridiculously low! Thriller can't be more thrilling than this especially the whole 2002 arc alone deserve…
I agree. MDL scores are sooo unreliable. MDL should just scrap their scoring system as it's being used by haters to downrate dramas of perceived competitors of their faves. You can tell which artists have immature/petty fans - those with mediocre dramas that have high scores. These same fans unjustly downrate other dramas.
This is sooo good! I didn't expect this to hold my attention so well. It's not as straightforward as it seems. Not draggy at all. Each frame matters. Some scenes may seem inconsequential or fillers, but they have relevance or clues to subsequent episodes. The way this was filmed makes me feel like I'm investigating the case with the cast. The changing dynamics among the characters are also riveting, like the hate-to-respect-to-affection between Ran Fang Xu and He Yuan Hang, and teen-rebellion-to-respect between Qiao He and He Yuan Hang, pulled me into these characters. This is well made. The acting is excellent, especially of Dylan Wang, Pan Yue Ming and Ren Min. I look forward to each episode.
A Chinese social media post from a non-fan praising Dylan after seeing the first on-set photos and footage of the filming of Jiang Men Du Hou. The description of Dylan is evocative of Xie Jing Xing and may explain why XJX is such a formidable character. XJX is a force who knows his worth and what he wants and goes for it. He is not a simpering tool created merely to be the female lead's pet. He has his own compelling story. if this is not the type of male lead you're looking for, please feel free to read another novel and forget about this drama.
The post goes, "Seeing the Jiang Men Du Hou set photos circulating, I finally understand why Wang Hedi was able to break out and become one of the post-95 actors capable of anchoring hit dramas for both male- and female-oriented audiences. He carries an innate streak of defiance; while some people are like pebbles, he is more like a spark that can ignite a fire. From the very first glance, you sense a certain energy within him to go all in, the kind that can flare into something explosive.
Characters such as Daoming Si, Dongfang Qingcang and Xu Qian all demand a streak of audacity, the attitude of "I'm the best there is", and the conviction that "my fate is mine to command". Even in tattered clothes, his eyes reveal an unwillingness to yield. Even when cornered, there is still a trace of disdain at the corner of his mouth. That effortless boldness forms something uniquely his own; a presence that neither seeks to please nor conform, and never appears contrived, echoing the primal aggression of male animals. For male species, the two most primal and captivating moments are when they attack and when they protect. He never seems inclined to conceal the sharper edges of his personality. Instead, he lets his thorns show, revealing those unpolished facets of his character for anyone to see. To claim ground in male-oriented dramas, the unapologetic "I am who I am" confidence is essential.
That swagger is his signature scent. Not everyone will love it, but it is far more memorable than a flower with no fragrance at all. In an industry where beautiful faces are as plentiful as fish crossing a river, the ones who leave a lasting impression are rarely the most perfect, but the most distinctive. "
Are you referring to Xie Jing Xing? What did he do to the Shen family that you don't like? Shen Miao and XJX first…
This is the only revenge novel I've read so far as I used to hate revenge plots. And I think this will be my last. The other novels I like are also not focused on romance like Night Fall (drama is Ever Night), Secret Agent Empress (drama is Princess Agents) and Live Long and Prosper (drama of same name)

This is a gripping tale that has much more than romance in it. A well-crafted story, the wedding happens at the right moment. I’m in the middle of re-reading it, and will probably read it again soon after. That’s how good and deep it is. I’ll keep the author’s other works in mind.

XJX and SM both know that a family that gets too powerful is executed by the insecure emperor. So, a smart family would try to lower their status to escape execution. Shen Yuan's scheme would do that to the Shen family, but he doesn't know it would actually be beneficial to the family, saving them from execution.
XJX is actually the most famous male character in Chinese romance costume novels. This is the reason this role…
I like that he's not showy and cheesy, at least, at first. When he decided to go all in, he went all in, like his betrothal gifts lol and everything else he did for her after that
