Title The Haunted Palace Spoiler
I can only think of one plot point that didn't really seem to go any where or really need to be in the drama and…
It's big Plot holes for me, doing nothing to to all the situations that happen in the first half of the drama it's contradict character motivation and characters.

If he had the motivation of "not wanting change" as you said at the beginning of the story, it would be even stranger, when he didn't do anything to the blind saman.

I'm not talking about all of them but Kim Bong In the chief state councilor and King maternal grandfather.

He is a character connected to many antagonists, but feels like a patched-on antagonist. His goal is clear. His position is clear and not even known to the protagonists until almost the end of the story. But at the first half of the story he doesn't do anything after so much has happened with all information and clue he haved.

The most obvious thing is, the main human antagonist in the story, despite being very close to the protagonist, with such closeness as if knowing nothing and does nothing during the first half of the story.

Even though he has connections with other antagonists he seems to completely disconnect from them in the first half of the story.

I agree with you. The main plot had so much potential. But the execution at the second half of drama is meh. They takes a very standard writing with kdrama romcom logic.

I can imagine if this drama was written by the writer of goblin it would be amazing.

Actually the main plot of this drama is quite new and unusual, but this drama is written in very typical kdrama romcom. With major plot holes of course. There are many plots that do not match and sync what is written at the beginning with the middle and at the end.

Despite all that, this drama is still watchable until the end. It's just a shame about the writing.

... that both main leads die in the end? Is that right? My heart can't take sad endings, so I'm afraid to watch…
This drama is "really close" to us, what we cry about is because these situations are so close to us. Sometimes we see ourselves in some of the characters in the drama. Some see their closest people who are really close in the drama. Some are longing and envy for some of the characters in the drama.

Although this drama is full of tears and you are afraid of being sad this drama is really a regrettable to miss.

So i am on ep 4 and I don't enjoy it. Things progress too fast, IU screams a lot and is being selfish and mean…
I suggest you stop watching this drama if you don't enjoy it. Sometimes some dramas need "time" to watch. It takes a life journey to watch. Maybe you can come back in a few years when you have more life experience. Or when you suddenly feel like watching it.

So I didn't watch "When The Camellia Blooms" yet even though it has Gong Hyo Jin in it and she is one of my favourite…
As in WLGYT. the drama writing in When Camelia Blooms is also not like a typical "thriller" drama. It even tends to be more heavy on "slice of life" drama.

In terms of the concept of depicting the story, this is probably almost similar to Lovely Runner. Yes, there are elements of thriller mystery and being "the origin of the main problem or backdrop" but that is not the "core of the story".

We as the audience will enjoy it more as a "slice of life" drama rather than a "thriller". Or in the lovely runner case the audience will enjoy it as a "romcom" drama than the triller drama.

So what is the common thread between WLGYT and WTCB?

It is written in "the same style".

The story of WLGYT is about "The story of a couple and their family" and the "surrounding residents" who come from "Jeju Island" from the past to the present.

While the story of WTCB is about "The story of a woman" and her "surrounding residents" who live in "Ongsan" during the time of the serial murders.

I'm wondering if baeksang is starting to favor younger actors now, both leads in lovely runner got nominated.…
I think they don't want to give double nominations for one drama especially for Best Actor and Best Actress. And it seems like if there are 4 main leads they will nominate more "main" than another "main". In this case IU and Park Bo gum. I'm sure if their positions were put in Supporting they would win baeksang award easily.

But it seems that winning that position For IU and PBG are hard because they rival are
Kim Tae Ri ("Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born") and Han Suk Kyu ("Doubt").

Wait, does it have a sad ending?
It's very difficult to explain the ending of this drama, perhaps it's more like a realistic ending that really touches our hearts.

This drama was good but not great for me, so I was shocked to come here and see how many people are calling it…
It's okay if it doesn't relate and resonate personally. We live in different places with different cultures with different conditions with different preferences.

But, this drama is well written, well acted, well directed, and well edited.

I believe this drama will win the baeksang award this year.

What made me cry even worse was because I watched some spoiler clips on tiktok and knew about what happened to gwangsik. And the discussion about it. Watching with that perspective and knowledge is really something.🤧

9.4 is too much. There were many things wrong with this series. Many things. Especially how they portrayed the…
I actually still understand if some people don't relate because their lives and cultures are different.

But I find it funny when they start dictating how things should be like this, like that.
Seeing movies or dramas as something that "must" be interpreted not as a story.
And their thoughts and lives are the gold standard of humanity.
