Title My Dearest Spoiler
bro nothing happened to the enemies its making me angry
Because the crazy king and his evil consort are historical figures. Even the death of the crown prince and the punishment inflicted upon his wife were historical events that actually took place.

But rest assured, the one who ascends the throne to replace that mad king is the Crown Prince's younger brother—born of the same mother (who was actually also exiled to China alongside the Crown prince, though this wasn't shown in the drama)—not the son of that wicked consort. He deeply cared for his older brother and certainly knew the people who had accompanied him in China. He was the one who confined Ryaeng-eum in the infirmary to protect him during the early days of his reign (when his rule was not yet stable), and he released ryarng-eum in the final episode (once his rule had stabilized). This new king appears in the final episode.

Happy ending?
Yes, but, when you finish this drama, your soul will be completely drained—shattered and mentally wrecked. It takes a long time before you can bring yourself to watch it again.

I declare this to be as a "recap drama" with a budget.
there is no depth to the plot at all.
This is the fate that happens when a drama that should have 60 episodes is compressed into 24 episodes without wanting to miss out on many things in the source material.

I only gave POJ 8.5, because of the last 10 eps was messy and i felt so betrayed. 😅 Still, i love it and would…
Yeah, They only included the essentials things i believe in the last 10 episodes, making it feel like a recap. There should have been a bridge scene in between.

I'm sorry, I can't give this drama a full 10. The sudden jump in speed and even jerky pacing really bothered me. Furthermore, the drama started with a well-crafted slow pace. However, the sudden shift to a fast with uneven pace, tone even character orientation was truly make me disoriented.

There were many scenes that suddenly jumped without an adequate explanation. I believe this was because many scenes were deleted to shorten the 40-episode timeframe.
I think this drama needs at least 50-60 episodes to balance the pace.

Title My Dearest Part 2 Spoiler
Why Ryang Eum is i jail please someone explain
Because Jang Hyun was considered an accomplice of the Crown Prince, anyone associated with him, including Ryang Eum, was also considered a criminal by King Injo.

However, the next king, Hyojong who became king at the end of ending (9th year in office), was the Crown Prince's blood brother and shared the same mother.

In "history," not only the Crown Prince was exiled to China, but also his younger brother, who would eventually become the next king. During their exile in china, they were very close. However, this was not shown in the drama.

However, in the final episode, several scenes were cut
(The latest full ending episode version is shown in Korea and on YouTube and now also on Netflix). .One of them was the appearance of King Hyojong, who imprisoned Ryang Eum in a mental hospital "to protect him," as the political conditions were unfavorable when he first ascended to the throne. The complete scene also shows Ryang Eum being freed at the ending.

They didn't promote at all Bon appetit your majesty and it was so successful, and they promoted a lot Genie make…
Genie, Make a Wish is a Netflix "Exclusive" drama. So, yes, they certainly have a crazy production budget and massive marketing efforts, including outside of South Korea.

Meanwhile, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is a non-exclusive drama and premiered on tvN, which also airs on Netflix. I'm sure their budgets are very far apart.

The sad part is, Bon Appétit was a drama that was made quickly. Filming only started at the end of January 2025 (even the male lead was a sudden decision), and I'm sure it finished filming close to the broadcast date. Meanwhile, Genie, Make a Wish began two years ago and wrapped up a year ago.😅😅😅

I felt the same about Suzy over the years. I always considered her one of the prettiest in the industry but can’t…
I haven't watched "Anna" yet, but I might give it a try. Hopefully, my perspective will change after watching it. I haven't even been able to distinguish her character in nearly every drama I've watched.

And yes, I personally also "previously" categorized Yoona and Suzy's acting on the same spectrum. Their characters and acting in each drama are almost indistinguishable. And of course, there would be a very big difference compared to Kim Tae-ri for example, as this year's Baeksang winner. I can really distinguish her character in every drama and movie, feeling like a completely new and different person.

I crown this drama as Kim Eun Seuk's worst drama that she has ever written and that I have ever watched.

The plot is meh, boring and disconnected.
This is made worse by Susy's acting which is always flat and is just like that without any improvement at all since the last 14 years of her career.

It's a shame, even though I had higher expectations for this drama. This drama is the opposite of the drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty which I underestimated. And I predicted Kim Yoona's acting would be bad as usual, but nope, that's drama was quite successful and surprisingly, Kim Yoona's acting was very improved.

maybe we were waiting for the competition so it feel a little boring compared to others with so much suspense,…
Yeah i agree, it's possible that the number of episodes also influences it. Apart from that, the story also has another focus in the world of food which takes up quite a lot of screen time. This drama has potential, with both actors delivering quite decent acting. Its okay, I still have high hopes for the next few episodes.

I personally can tolerate cliches in rom-coms, but having "three" falling scenes in one episode is too much. The relationship development between the two leads also felt rush and unnatural in the last two episodes, not to mention the last two episodes were full of filler scenes.
But let's see what happens in the next few episodes. I hope things got improve.

Episode 5 was very good in my opinion, but it went downhill in episode 6. Oh boy, 3 falling scenes in 1 episode is no longer categorized as romantic but running out of ideas.

Clichés and minor plot holes in rom-coms are forgiven. What's most important is the execution and the placement of these elements must be perfect.😁

The main plot like this is actually quite generic. But whatever, the most important thing is the execution. I think the first two episodes were quite successful, although there were a few minor plot holes. I'll forgive them because this is a rom-com. As long as they're not major, they won't be too disturbing.

Yoona's acting once again seems to have improved compared to her last drama, King the Land. I still remember how bad his acting was in Exit (movie) and K2.

Let's see the rest of episodes what will be like.
