Look, first of all we all know there are plenty of Chinese drama airs and shoot at the same time. The quantity of the dramas is so enormous. They have to air all the dramas not just most popular or most hyped one. furthermore, I don't know about your country but In China there is (CCP) Chinese communist party. So, the Chinese government has censorship over all media that are capable of reaching a wide audience which includes C-drama. They say by doing this we bid to improve national morality. They don't just delete any conflict scenes from the drama they also modify the drama themes to support the party's vison for country. SAHPH was originally set to release on 13th October but officially they announce that there are some technical issues, and they cancelled the airing, but some says that time there was some political stuff going on in China or they are mourning for someone that's why government told them to only air political themed drama, I don't really remember. Whatever I've written was solely based on what twitter accounts says, I don't know is this even true or not.
I understand some viewers don't find any interest in story telling & acting at the beginning of the episodes, but trust me after you tolerate some few episodes at the start, It will be the roller coaster ride for you. This drama was the main reason why I started watching Historical & Xianxia dramas. It was the most captivating Xianxia drama I've ever watched. So, give it a one more try. Not all the dramas can start with the bang from very first episode...

ALP had the best CGI ever in any chinese Xianxia drama among I watched. I don't know about chinese audience but here on MDL the foreign watchers were raining compliments on ALP CGI/VFX. Sometimes I wonder from which eyes the Chinese people watches C-drama, they filled up with full of negativity & toxicity...
Woah! This drama has now broken 11000 heat index and ofcourse it's highest, it's now become most watched IQIYI drama & it scores 9.0 ratings on douban. Though I'm not following this drama still curious why it's doing that much brilliant in China.
