There’s a word in Korean - 인연 (imyeon). It means providence or fate.
SO EVOCATIVE AND EXHILARATING AND FORMIDABLE - A BREATH OF COLD, CRISP AIR IN 100 MINS. WE LOVE YOU TEO YOO ??? Past Lives is adulthood and cultural assimilation, yet fundamentally native and a homage to what could have been. But at the same time, displaying that it’s never too late for anything. The relief of reaching out to an old friend from ages ago and you are both the same as you were to each other. You both haven’t changed for the worse, it’s the same self from back then, even if you’re different to people in your new life. Your authenticity is the same, yet with new confidence, achievements and culture. Even if life and growing up takes over, the person you met when you were young still stays in your mind - that first message & first reunion in absolutely ages doesn’t just remind you of your childhood, but your heritage and who you’re fated to be.Was this review helpful to you?
”Tantai Jin, why weren’t you bound?” “Because I don’t dream.”
TTEOTM was all i could think about, it impacted me so much and the first xianxia i was really into. I love TTJ & YXW endlessly with all my heart & soul and together they are everything i can’t even condense it down in a review…it has the highest level of angst that i’ve been searching for for ages with a really enjoyable storyline & different arcs. the acting is incredible, especially Leo who is outstanding - the first cdrama actor I’ve seen with range and to really blow me awayThe overall standards of TTEOTM are way higher than cdramas incl; the outfits, cgi, writing, acting, cinematography, characters that were all the best i’ve seen in a historical drama. Shit completely hits the fan and there’s no happiness at all, just pain, betrayal, death, sacrifice and endless suffering for the MC - it’s painfully perfect

I need a lot more KhathaDome (& June) & a lot less everyone else
6.5 for khathadome ONLY they’re not explicitly gay but had more chemistry than most BLs. I love Khatha, Tor is always amazing at playing these types of characters. It focused on them in the later episodes but still was not enough. So many the plots at the end, with new characters, was a ridiculous mess, especially ep 9. The episodes with guest actors were really irrelevant to me and the acting was not incredible from them anyway ? (except Nanon). The anti-religious parts could have been developed & executed better but instead were rushed and corny

Gritty, raw & real
Excellent…TMS 1’s low budget and repeated sets created a domestic, comforting & indie vibe - but this sequel is an huge upgrade in a technical and deeper pensiveness. This is gritty and raw, moving away from the original, and instead into a well-written melodrama. With a high budget, vivid colours, creative camerawork and compelling acting, it’s clear in a technical aspect how they depicted realism. We get to see the characters’ personal disposition and details that weren’t there in the original, such as a glimpse into Seojoon’s acting career and Jiwoo’s past. As well as comparing the happy flashbacks to the lonely present..this story is angsty and maybe frustrating at times, but that’s how it felt real.
