Exactly, Qin Wan literally said if she was Caihe, she did gather evidence on all of them and make sure they did be put on trials and make sure people will know of their crimes for generations to come. And if they were put on trials, they will likely be executed but this is through a judicial process in which everything would be documented. Qin Wan is someone who wants everyone to know of the crime committed because it then also lets people know the victim was a victim and that they existed. Simply killing the murderer =/= victim gets known and vindicated in the eyes of those alive.

They had to change the origin aspect of Qin Wan because transmigration trope is not allowed in C-dramas currently. Because of that change, several things had to change too but I think it still lined up quite nicely and it makes sense IMO. But you can always just see this drama as an AU of the novel.

She is adopted by them, but she is still part of the Qin family because as "Qin Wan", she is blood-related to them. Her last name as Qin will be tied to the Qin family's fate. The main purpose of the adoption is just so 1st branch can't arrange marriages for her and to have Yue family as her backing in case anything happens. As long as she carries the name "Qin Wan", Qin family matters will affect her.

I got teary when Qin Li tried to give the little money he had saved up to Qin Wan. 😢😢😢 Man, these characters, even the supporting ones, got hearts. They are not NPCs; they all have their own past which reflects their current personalities.

Yup! Some of the cases will be "simple" but other ones more "difficult" in figuring out who did what. But I am enjoying the motives of these characters and how the actors/actresses are acting them in order to give them life. These cases are more tied down to reality and reflect what happens in our society because these are humans at the end of the day.

I want to mention that "The Powerful and Favored Coroner Imperial Concubine" (the novel this drama is based on) is not a big IP nor a popular novel. But with this drama's airing, the novel has now shoot up to #1 on those web novel sites which means people are now reading the novel because of this drama (usually it is the other way around). This drama is doing really well, enough for people to even go read the novel.
