Case 1 and Case 2 are related and introduced a bunch of characters (around 20-30 characters) so that's why it took like 10 episodes together. 🤣 But trust, the pacing of this drama is really fast.

A bit but in the drama, his feelings are not that strong (more of a positive feeling due to her setting the bird from the cage, which is his own wish, to be free from the palace). He had way deeper feelings in the novel due to their shared past.

The Crown Prince wanted Qin Wan as the primary consort mainly due to the benefits she will bring (he was okay with Qin Zhaoyu as the second consort but knew she won't be happy). But at the end of the day, he can't override the emperor, empress, or empress dowager. Since he can't have Qin Wan, he still got Qin Zhaoyu which is not a loss for him, he just needed ties with the Qin family. The empress herself preferred Qin Zhaoyu because she is still from the first branch. Plus Prince Cheng ended up with a "worse" match so he will always be happy with that.

I mean he did share a glance with the empress but there is just nothing he can do. The empress herself preferred Qin Zhaoyu more too.

Yeah, his character is a lot more interesting in the novel. 😢 This drama would need to be around 60 episodes long to really capture the essence of all the characters from the novel.

It is just bitterness. Traffic star fans are always like this; they somehow think only the dramas their favs starred in can be #1. Non-fans viewers aren't watching their dramas so there is nothing they can do about it. The top dramas in China from viewership to positive rating (especially the ones that win awards later) aren't starred by any of these traffic stars so their only "achievement" they can hold on to is heat index and how much ads are in each episode.

It is also not like for example Li Landi's first 10K heat index break either. She already achieved this on the platform Youku for "The Starry Love" back in 2023. And that drama was massively targeted in the beginning too.

I also don't get why these traffic star fans are trying to act righteous when a lot of these traffic stars' come up in popularity aren't clean. They are either heavily invested by platforms, pay tons of money to generate videos to go "viral", buy hashtags and generate controversies to be talked about, etc. Especially the ones that had no acting background and came in as influencers.

In the drama, it is a mix of liking but also because of the benefits she did bring him. There is nothing he can do when a decree is set for Qin Wan's and Yan Chi's marriage. He is not so in love to the point that he will fight it.

In the novel though, the Crown Prince was a way more complicated character and had sincere feelings for Qin Wan. Shen Wan was actually supposed to be a Crown Princess Candidate before the Shen family's massacre and the Crown Prince did like Shen Wan then. Then he fell for Qin Wan too because she and Shen Wan had the same personality (and he was right; they are the same person). The Crown Prince would be a 2nd ML type character in the mains' relationship if they actually explored it in the drama and allowed his character to be like in the novel. The drama's Crown Prince character is a lot "weaker" and more of a coward.

Yeah, I think those bullet comments too got people rewatching the episodes just to read them because they are so funny. Whatever helps this drama to get more views is good in my book! Plus, the way this drama has been getting slandered by those marketing accounts have pique people's interest in checking it out so even more people are tuning in.

Some more good news about this drama: ads have continued to be added every episode (aka investors see the viewership and see the worth to add in ads) and it has hit at least 10K heat index 4 days in a row.
