I read the novel quite a while ago, back when there was a rumor that the actress I like would play the lead, though it turned out to be a different actress in the end. The novel is excellent, but adapting Chinese novels into dramas is impossible—yet directors keep insisting on doing it. The actor playing the male lead is actually quite good, but I just can't bring myself to watch anything he's in.
I hope they don't disregard Yi Ou Chun like they did with Hello 1983, but I have complete faith in the actors' fandoms to do a proper promotion. Since we know we can't rely on promotions from streaming platforms.

I was never a Wuxia fan, so I watched Wuxia dramas and was very confused about the issues of ascension, cultivation and immortality, so this drama was very educational for me about this genre.
I don't understand why the ratings for this drama are so low, I think people don't even get past the second episode and leave a low rating. I'm particularly enjoying it a lot.
