That was exactly my problem with this show: they never showed us why this couple likes each other. It was just the childhood connection trope all over again. They never had a conversation (other than the phone calls, and most of the time he didnât even know it was her) or scenes in which you see them fall in love. She gets kidnapped and thatâs the moment he decides that heâs always liked her and she did too, brushing all his cunty behavior to the side.
It was enjoyable enough to finish it, but mostly to see what crazy plotline theyâd come up with next.
I'm honestly so surprised this comment keeps coming up because we are not dealing with an emotionally well adjusted…
So far heâs been mean to her for 3 years, then had 3 phone calls with her and suddenly theyâre head over heals for each other. Yet all the romantic scenes are imaginary and they donât actually know each other aside from their childhood crush.
The show wouldâve benefited from a couple of scenes where they get to know each other and him being nice to her to make their romance more believable. Just my opinion, Iâm having a hard time believing their small interactions as kids is why theyâre so in love with each other.
So yeah, if not therapy then him being at least nice to her wouldâve helped with solidifying their love for each other.

Imo that doesnât excuse his behaviour. She deserves much better. If heâs not emotionally well adjusted, he should seek therapy and not be in a relationship for a while đ
Lol no need for a personal attack cause I think this show sucks. Slice of life is my favorite genre, so I know…
Itâs one thing to engage in a discussion with someone and another to call their opinion wrong or lies. How can an opinion be wrong even. I donât go around trying to convince the 10 reviews that theyâre wrong either. Imma respectfully write this one down as an agree to disagree. Itâs apparently a very important show to you and to me just one of the many dramas Iâve watched and thatâs just entertaining enough not to drop despite the things I mentioned in my review. Have a wonderful time watching tomorrow!

I think itâs kinda interesting you reply to every negative review in huge paragraphs and getting into fights with people over a mere show. You should check reddit, lots of people have dropped the show, you should go fight them! I am done lol

Youâre the one replying in paragraphs to every negative review. Do you see me commenting on every 10 rated review đYouâre so weird, just enjoy the show and accept that people have different opinions

Youâre here writing paragraphs on my review, itâd be rude not to respond. I donât care if people like it, I wrote a review so other people can make a decision whether to watch it or not. I still think an 8,9 is overrated for this show and no discussion is gonna change that. Enjoy the show tomorrow and donât let the negative reviews get you down, itâs not that serious or deep
Lol no need for a personal attack cause I think this show sucks. Slice of life is my favorite genre, so I know…
You seem very passionate about defending this show. Why are you so obsessed with whether people like it or not? Iâve seen plenty of people drop the show on Reddit just because they find it boring, do they need to explain in detail to you why they dropped it and defend their decision?
I tried explaining it, but you seem unable to let it go :â) I donât like this show, you do and good for you. Everyone is free to write a review, write a positive one yourself if it bothers you so much that people are leaving mixed reviews here.
ps. thereâs a new negative review posted you can reply to in case you missed that one

You say that the romance isnât the main focus, yet itâs 90% of the show. If youâre not invested in the romance, then youâre not gonna enjoy this one.
I appreciate the effort they put into the show, but I donât think me not liking it is that deep. Some shows grip you, others donât. There are many negative reviews here that rate it below 7. My appreciation of the effort put in is why I rated it a 7. And people are allowed to have expectations, donât we all have them when watching a new show?

I guess we should just agree to disagree. I gave it a 7, which is not bad as I appreciate the acting in this show. The story is not for me personally as Iâm not invested in their romance because of the lack of build up which I mentioned before. People are free to like it and itâs obviously very popular. I just happen to not like it as much besides the great acting mostly from the ML.

Your comments are so condescending, yet you say Iâm getting defensive :â)
Thanks for the long explanation, but this show isnât as deep as youâre making it out to be. It has every kdrama cliche. Once again ironic that you say âif youâre looking for something easier to understandâ when this show has been nothing but predictable.
Nowhere did I say it has to be like Mr. Sunshine, since itâs a different show and a different genre. That was an example of a good show with good build up.
I donât believe that two people who have spoken to each other over the phone like 3 times can fall in love suddenly. Whatâs so weird about that? Youâre really making this show out to be deeper than it is, when people who enjoy this show also realise itâs incredibly corny and say that if it wasnât for the actorâs acting it would be crap.
She was kidnapped 3 times!! And weâre talking realism here lol
Youâre clearly not the target audience for this show. Itâs about the messy, realistic aspects of relationships,…
Lol no need for a personal attack cause I think this show sucks. Slice of life is my favorite genre, so I know a thing or two about slow burn and messy relationships.
The irony in your comment is that it isnât a slow burn romance at all, but a ânon realistic fairy taleâ instead. It went from they donât talk to each other to they love each other so deeply in the span of like 2 episodes. Is it too much to ask to have a build up to them loving each other? My guy âlovedâ her for 20 years but hasnât even spoken to her till like 2 episodes. Where is the slow burn there, they just did a 180 and are sooo in love yet know nothing about each other.
Maybe you shouldâve checked my watch list before commenting something stupid about me only liking simple rom coms lol. Mr. Sunshine is my favorite drama and a well executed slow burn love story instead of this crap. And nowhere in your comment do you explain why these two people are in love or when it exactly happened. Because itâs a lazy childhood connection trope which they use so they donât have to show us the process of actually falling in love and why these two characters are in fact in love.
I feel offended when people say "It's a romcom, why were you expecting a plot?" lol. In that case I can just watch Youtube shorts of this series and not miss anything?
Mr. Queen and Gauss Electronics were both so good!
The sad fact is when the comments section is like this the people enjoying the drama just don't bother commenting…
I mean, it's the most dropped drama on the r/kdrama "shows I dropped" thread this month. Probably for a reason, I don't think people are hating on it just for fun. Also, I've mostly read negative comments on r/kdrama outside of the official episode threads. What I'm trying to say is that people calling criticizing a flawed show "toxic negativity" and "hating" aren't really helping either. I'm allowed to not like it and point out flaws. When I started watching this show it had a 8.6 rating on here and the comments were highly positive. Imagine my surprise when I realised that the show was all romantic scenes, no substance. That's why it's important for people to leave negative reviews as well, it would've saved me some time.
Let's bring the ratings higher. This drama deserves above 9 for all the happiness that is bringing us!
This show is pretty bad. The rating is supposed to be about quality, not about how much joy it brings you. Objectively this show is more like a 5/10 because the plot is really bad. Non existent even and people are only watching it for Lee Junho. Imagine deciding to watch this show expecting a quality and you get this show because you guys inflated the rating.
You don't like this kind of drama doesn't mean everyone is the same as you. Remember everyone has different taste.…
Bad reviews are necessary too. It helps me choose if I should watch a show or not. If people didn't post negative reviews, then all the reviews would be positive and they would have no point at all. You dropped 9.0 shows and that's exactly my point, it was probably overrated just like KTL at 8.5. It saves people some time if they see a couple negative reviews. Starting shows and dropping them is a waste of your time so I appreciate when people share their opinion, even if it's negative. Doesn't mean I'm a hater, I just think the show is bad and I'm trying to save people some time so they don't end up having to drop another show like I did.
