just revisiting MDL page. I concur with your opinion about the ending: also in my understanding of the story, they deserve to stay together, but getting back together should have been more balanced. For instance, while both did something to hurt the other part, they both also realize their strong feelings for each other and that they were and are best fit as partner. Sure, now that all is out between them, they need to rediscover their relations from this more realistic approach.

Got same impression about dynamic of main CP relationship, so I decided to wait for release of all eps and then binging from 20th (where I am now). what I mean, there is clear progress in their relation, but is so subtle that you think is just going in circles; one needs to pay attention to subtle facial and body signs. that's way I really appreciate the performance of Meng Zi: she is able to convey such fine, tiny, subtle nuances.

I wanted to say that naturally you can feel attracted by someone, while being neutral to others. imo this is one of the arks of XiHe: "learn" to have romantic feelings toward potential partners. I am amazed by MZY performance into conveying this ark, so I enjoy it.

I'm just at eps.18 and by now my take about this matter: she doesn't trust him, in spite of his repeated confession; also, by her standards, he is not checking in regarding his attitude towards her values (woman role, social equity, rule of law), things she got it during her marriage; in addition, in my opinion she has no attraction (romantic-wise) to him, like he is not "her type" (while Crown Prince looks he is her type).

I'm just at eps 12, but these are the vibes he gives me; he also proved proficient in laying traps at Court and said to FL his "precious" will have a "golden house". but this is the fun of watching long dramas... one can try to foresee the story developments.

Agree with you: this schedule is just keeping watchers away & waiting for complete release (probably that will be the end of July). Until then, I would watch other dramas as per my taste but ready for binging: "Meet yourself", "Ashes to Crown"/Netflix, "Blossom", "Glory"/Viki.

got the same feeling about this trope (FL wondering and presuming things); as any trope, if runs too long, then become sour. I would just advocate for FL, that she just came out from a love relationship fueled by her dreams/imaginations and normally she's afraid not repeating the mistake....

I have enjoyed it very much, but after watching it also emerged some mixed conclusions that keeps me back = instead of entertainment I got rather moral lessons:
- it has strong emphasis on moral lessons: capital should be social responsible / parents should let children live their life, if they cannot really provide constructive support / ambition should be contained by ethics / for healthy couple relations, you need to put first the better of both, etc;
- it runs like a showcase of several couples, so you get a mixed romance & moral vibes... thus some of the situations felt forced and/or ambiguous;
- title is not really consistent with actual stories: imo it was more like firecrackers instead of fireworks.
Regardless, as I usually score actors performances and ability to get me immersed in the story, it gets >9 in my C-drama universe.
