I decided to watch it because I was pretty sure Cheewah was autistic-coded from the trailer (I'm AuDHD) and I…
-Only Boo (Absolutely cuteness overloaded. I can guarantee it you will fall in love with Keen playing the character of Moo and his language of love.) -MuTeLuv "Hi" by My Luck (It has only 4 episode but by the end you would be wondering how did this masterpiece end only in 4 episode. Both of them are academic genius and rivals in this.) -Head 2 Head (I don't know if I should call this rivals to lovers trope because sure they were arguing over the pettiest stuff but all I saw was them being each other's world.)
Yup. I have the same thoughts. My theory is they are writing scripts to suit keen. I like him but he’s not the…
I actually agree that Jinn was probably Keen's most challenging role, but I do want to disagree with the idea that what I described was just a character explanation. I was talking about how Keen actually brought those traits and nuances to life, which is precisely what makes his portrayal of these characters so different to me.
And I have to disagree with the second half. I genuinely find every SeaKeen script fresh in its own way, and I think Only Boo especially gets underestimated when people describe it as "just" a simple story about falling for someone because he's kind. I've watched a lot of BL series, and if someone asks me who my favorite character is, without hesitation, it's Moo from Only Boo. Keen made such an impact with the way he portrayed him that he remains one of the most memorable characters I've watched.
So yes, absolutely give SeaKeen different settings and different stories, but I don't think they need to escape the school/uni trope to prove that they can make a story feel fresh. They already have. They're only 20-21... there is absolutely no rush. And I'm sure they'll do great when they eventually move into different settings too.
Yes, SeaKeen have done three school and one university series, but the fact that they're all set in high school/university doesn't suddenly make them the same story or the same characters. Diversity is great, absolutely, but I also don't think there's anything inherently wrong with revisiting a setting when the characters, dynamics, themes and overall stories are completely different and also completely engaging.
Moo, Err, Jinn and Niran are nothing alike. Neither is Kang, Mawin, Jerome and Cheewa, and the same goes for the different worlds and relationships SeaKeen have portrayed across these series. They fit these roles really well, and if the story is good and they're convincing in their characters, I honestly don't see the problem.
Like... of all the things we could talk about in a series, the characters happen to be in high school again is the hill we're choosing?

No hate to anyone. But honestly, I think I don't know what "wooden" means anymore 😭 Because how was Moo wooden? He was the cutest little existence who had me absolutely losing my mind. The way Keen brought Moo's playfulness, impulsiveness, confidence, ridiculous little expressions and his pick up lines to life was half the reason that character worked so well for me.
And then look at Err. Completely different from Moo. Err was this academic prodigy who consistently excelled at exams and competitions, so everyone saw him as this effortless genius. But Keen had to portray the person underneath that image too... someone who worked incredibly hard to maintain that reputation and carried his own insecurities and vulnerabilities.
Then there’s Jinn, who is another complete departure from both of them, with a different personality, temperament and emotional expression. He's chaotic, competitive, sharp tongued and constantly ready to pick a fight, but underneath all that bravado is someone incredibly soft, emotionally perceptive and deeply caring. Keen brought all those contradictions to Jinn so naturally... the petty competitiveness, the ridiculous chaos, the intensity of his feelings, but also the vulnerability and quiet selflessness underneath it all.
And now Niran is yet another completely different character. He's grounded, straightforward and a little sassy. He sees himself as ordinary and just takes life day by day, but Keen brings so much personality through Niran's expressions especially that genuine "What is this man even saying?" look whenever Cheewa starts rambling.
Like.. these characters don't even have the same personality, mannerisms, emotional expression, or energy. If anything, that's what makes his performances interesting to me.
I'm not trying to dismiss your opinion at all, but I’m genuinely baffled by how this is considered "wooden". Like, I can understand not connecting with his acting style, but looking at how differently he's portrayed Moo, Err, Jinn and now Niran.. also Phat and Thara even though they were just cameo roles, I genuinely don't see how 'he can't act' is the conclusion.
I love Sea and Keen, but this is their 4th high school/uni BL from GMMTV. I really don’t want another copy and…
Try it. It's really good. I never knew astronomy could be this romantic. Even though it's SeaKeen's fourth school/uni genre, they don't disappoint one bit.
Unfortunately there still a few dicks here. One person wrote how they find the series bad . And that the boys…
Ikr constructive criticism are always welcome and people can have opinions. But I can't stand nonsense like that. On top of that there are also people who make me wonder if I am watching a completely different show than what they are watching.

Huh?? Keen??? 😶 Are we watching the same Keen Suvijak Piyanopharoj??? Because this man absolutely acts with his facial expressions. The way he communicates without even saying a word sometimes. You mean Keen Keen???

Now that's one way to get your crush's name 😆
