I meant to be sarcastic about Kwangsook's "sainthood".
I know this "sainthood" is drama but it is unbelievable because of her long list of "sainthood".

And right, Kwangsook is like Maria in the Sound of Music.

Kwangsook did not discuss with Dongseok about many matters.
She made a decision.
She informed him.
She insisted and argued with him when he objected.

Dongseok should, seriously, reconsider marrying such a woman... in real life.
But he will marry such a woman because it is kdramaland. 😆

I don't recall the old kdramas "had more of it".

She did not care about his feelings or respect him enough to discuss matters with him. She made a decision , informed him, and insisted on it when he objected. Example is her insistence that MIL lives with them.

Because all of us here are non-Koreans, we really have no idea what the Koreans' views are about the "scandal" between Beomsoo and Seri.

Could it be that the Writer and Producer are bowing to pressure from the local audience that they object to any intimate act between this duo? RubyRain earlier told me the Koreans are complaining about the stiff hugs between Beomsoo and Seri in YT.

So I ponder what is the reason then? Maybe a group of people who support the TV network (KBS?) object this their former teacher and student relationship?

I remember reading how the storyline of dramas was changed as there was an outcry from the public concerning the storyline.

But one thing is for sure - something caused the cold stiff hugs. But concerning Dongseok and Kwangsook, I am totally clueless. 😉

Ok.  I'm sure you must have watched them filming a scene in behind the scenes YT videos, right?  When an actor/actress did not convey his/her emotions properly, the Director would say "Cut" and they would have to re-act the scene and it might be repeated several times until the Director is satisfied, agree?

The million-dollar question is why the Director failed to get Seri and Beomsoo to re-do their hugging scenes?  And Kwangsook to re-do her dull and bland responses to Dongseok?
And her stuuuupid response to Dongseok just before their lips touch? 

I have never watched a kdrama where the actress hugged her male lead in such an awkward manner... repeatedly. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wonder if it is the Writer or the Director who wanted them to have stiff hesitant hugs.
I also wonder if the Director have more say than the Writer in how scenes are done.
Or Writer and Director could be in dispute with each other.

All I know is that something is off with Eagle Brothers drama.

I have the same thoughts as you. I was like "at long last... Dongseok and Kwangsook are kissing..." .
What? The camera was at close range but they are still not kissing. Oh no! She will not be kissing Dongseok! 😘... 😕

I pondered on the stiff and hesitant hugs between Beomsoo and Seri all this while.  It could be the Director is concerned that some parents would complain that the teacher and student are hugging too passionately.  What other reasons could there be, when it is so obvious to everyone that their hugs are awkward but the Director did not re-shoot their hugging scenes? 

The same could be said of the Director regarding Kwangsook's dull and bland reaction to Dongseok. 

I don't blame the actors and actresses, especially not Uhm Ji Won who is a multiple award winning actress.
The Director is a big Puzzle to me.
