A well done drama that delivers an emotional punch in the gut, but in a good way. Nam Joo Hyuk is terrific in this; he proved to me that he can really act. But Kim Hye Ja’s acting impressed me even more. Some of the scenes with the family are wrenching. The pacing can be somewhat uneven and a few scenes skate close to sentimentalism but I give the drama major points for addressing issues too often ignored in dramaworld, including aging and Alzheimer’s, as well as the South Korea government’s attacks against the press in the 70’s.
