It's funny how people complain about Elyes being a red flag like duh it's literally in the title guys. The plot is about a bad playboy gradually changing into a good lover (even if it takes 12 episodes). In real life, people don't instantly change, but they do change, even if it takes a long time. That's the main point here. No matter how shitty and hopeless a person is, LOVE can change them, albeit slowly. If you want fluff, just watch Cherry Magic. But if you want a hot tsundere learning how to truly love, then join this (long) journey and find satisfaction in the end.

Oh I love those dramas you mentioned! When I saw that Muto Jun is actually an idol, I also thought about your point #2. Your point #1 really makes sense if we want to have more JBLs with good quality in the future. I just wish they would stay true to the theme of the source material by depicting scenese that I believe are essential to storytelling (and to servicing fujoshis' fantasies lol). Even Miseinen did better!

I actually really love "Hidamari ga Kikoeru" and that drama left me feeling satisfied even without a proper kiss scene because I knew it was supposed to focus on how the relationship will bloom despite disabilities and challenges.
So I'm disappointed with how "Futtara Doshaburi" sexually teased us yet wasn't able deliver. I wish I didn't expect too much. Maybe I should just order the book and translate it myself like you did. So I can picture the "wild nights" (not just one) that you mentioned :'D
But I still appreciate the show. Even the transitions and camera angles were perfect. Hagiwara looked so handsome. And his kindness and loyalty as you mentioned really moved the hearts of Sei and Kaori (and mine). He even respected his first-time partner by not divulging information.
Hagiwara got what he wished for in the first episode regarding Kaori becoming jealous and checking his phone. Little did Kaori know that the "man" she didn't worry about would be her undoing, while treating Hagiwara as a pet instead of a man/lover.
In the end, I'm just glad how this drama showed the two leads turning from strangers to friends then to lovers, being each other's shelter in the midst of the storms (literally and figuratively).
For a drama that kept talking about sex, I felt unsatisfied with the sex scenes. Maybe I just got spoiled by how "Bokura no Micro na Shuumatsu" showed sexual thirst and consummation. Also, I heard that the novel detailed the sex scenes quite well. And the show kept promoting how sex is a good thing, so my expectations weren't met. But I enjoyed the rest of the show, like the cinematography, music, acting (even down to the subtle facial/vocal expressions). It's now one of my faves, even if it feels rushed and squeezed into 7 episodes. Now I feel sexually frustrated like the characters lol!

Setting aside my hatred toward Eiji and Mei, this film is actually well done. Intriguing story, beautiful cinematography, catchy music; even the silent parts and credits scenes were worth watching. I hope that someday I can be strong enough like Makki, to move forward and forgive the old friends who betrayed me.
