Overall, this was a good drama. But i have to say it. The ML was just... NO. He just horrible ! Pathetic ! I'm…
Right when he regained his godhood, he automatically lost 9/10 of his spirit by saving the mountain. He never healed from that and then he gave up the last piece of spirit to save the female lead. Although I agree that the fighting scenes could've been better to show his true god powers, but the direction of this drama was more focused on relationships. At the end of the day, it's really just a boy trying to protect the girl he loves without troubling others. It was never a focus on showing how powerful true gods were like xianxias. Gu Jin turning into Yuan Qi wasn't to show how powerful he was as a true god, it showed that he can no longer live the carefree life he once loved. He now had to bear Daze Mountain's massacre on his shoulders and then the devils also re-emerged, so he had to be ready to protect the realms. He couldn't just love A Yin freely anymore. So it's power but in a different sense that may seem weak.
All the villains were hiding under their immortal positions, it's hard to fight head on. There were simply too many bad players and twists. Even if he had true god powers, he can't read minds and do what he pleases. I think this production being made in 2023 should've done more fighting sequences. At least have Ming Qi and Yuan Qi battle it out in good fight but they sort of took the easy route out by using powers. Ten Miles of Peach Blossom didn't have any good fight scenes either but that was 2017. From then, xianxia dramas have gotten into this pattern where the male lead is the most powerful, so we expect that when that's not always going to happen in all xianxias. But I'm glad you enjoyed it. This drama isn't perfect but if it kept you entertained, that's great!๐ฅฐ
I just realized Gu Jin sacrifice to seal Ming Qi all for him to roam free in the end anyways but that ok I quite…
I think it's timing too. Ming Qi needed to witness another unconditional sacrifice to soften his heart too. Not knowing, Ming Qi was slowly being washed by Xiu Yan. ๐ฅฒ๐
I honestly felt like what happened in that dream was REAL. Yes, it's a dream but everything that happened in that…
Love your analysis! I love Episode 35 too. I also feel like it's a final goodbye to A Yin because after that, we don't hear Yuan Qi call A Yin anymore, just Feng Yin. It was the truth A Yin should've heard all along, so the dream was her closure. So sweet and sad. Feng Yin brings the happy carefree Gu Jin back and Yuan Qi will always bring the cute pure A Yin back too.
Zhang Ling He has the looks but needs a bit more work on his acting. He's not bad but could be better. But yas,…
Yeah, WAY and ZLS can save the angst for a modern drama. ๐ฅฐ I agree. MJTY was sooo good! ZLH and Esther had chemistry. I'm one of those odd fans who enjoyed LBFAD but wasn't crazy about it, so I was quite impressed by Esther in here. She played YWS so well. Wow! It's nice to meet another MJTY fan out here. This drama is a treasure for me too.๐ฅน

Yeah, it is what it is. Thank goodness I didn't catch the drama while it was airing, so I wasn't that disappointed or enraged as the other fans. I really liked the character build up, story telling, filmography, script, and acting of the entire cast. I wished TLI would've gone full blown mature and adult when Feng Yin returned, so we'd get real angst and emotional scenes. MJTY focused so much on emotions and close up shots that really elevated its quality. I wished TLI didn't shy away from that because WAY and ZLS would've definitely delivered and slayed. I'm watching Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty with WAY and boyyyy, he's totally bad boy vibes, not like Yuan Qi. I would've definitely loved to see WAY and ZLS in a very mature angst revenge arc in here.๐

Ahh, totally agree. GZY was one of the best male lead characters of 2023. He was smart, humble, cherished everyone's life regardless who you were, loyal, faithful, defended and loved YWS through and through knowing who she was without hurting or allowing her to hurt anyone, never pushed her to do anything against her will...the list goes on forever on what an awesome gentleman he was. Besides the unsatisfying ending, everything about this drama was nearly perfect. It's a slow burn, slow paced drama with such great fighting scenes. I, too, dropped Kunning Palace for the same reasons and especially having seen ZLH as GZY? My heart couldn't take it.๐ It was very forced and cringey and the storyline was a bit odd. ZLH is such a handsome crier too.

I really enjoyed Zhang Ling He in A Journey To You. I know...there were a lot of complaints about that drama too, but it was pretty good. I've rewatched it 3 times already. ๐ He was such a green flag lead too. I guess, green flag leads aren't too popular. ๐
i fast forward from ep33 til the end lol..Too boring, and draggy
I agree. I think they should've focused more on Yuan Qi and Feng Yin like in the beginning between Gu Jin and A Yin. There were quite a few filler episodes and the whole part of Feng Yin competing for the throne? ๐คจ๐
