Are people new to Chinese dramas? Because people need to stop expecting "serious politics" in "idol" dramas. Your expectations failed you, not the drama. If you're looking for serious dramas, try Swords into Plowshares. Look at the cast, you should've known to not expect a "serious" drama. Just a suggestion, next time before you watch a drama, either drop the expectations or do some more research on the cast, you'll know if it's a serious or idol drama and then go from there. Some claim to dislike this drama yet linger on and on with complaints? Dramas are to make you happy, so thank you for watching TPOB but if it's not your cup of tea, I hope you find peace elsewhere. :)

Just finished my rewatch. This drama is still 10/10 for me. Hahah 😂😂.

It's been almost a year?!!! Time flies yet this drama still is unbeatable in so many ways!

Hahaha yet it was SZE who won an acting award, not popularity award, for this role and not LYN. In China, SZE is well praised for her acting even way before this drama, so not sure what the dislike is all about. Even LYN praises her acting. Lol I've seen very very little complaints from the general public criticizing SZE's acting in here from both the domestic and international sides. Besides people who just personally don't like her or are fans of others trying to put her down, she rarely gets criticized for her acting even that one drama with Steven, she was wisely praised. But it happens, you're entitled to your opinion.

She's is a bit too skinny right now but her face looks fine on camera. I hope she gains some weight when she films an idol modern drama.

We all have different opinions. I, for one, didn't enjoy POJ. It was super boring especially the last 10 episodes where the storyline went downhill.

TPOB is the TOP 3 dramas that made a lot of money and splash for Tencent in 2025, so congrattsss! This drama, despite minor hiccups, remains well loved and popular.

A lot of the negative reviews come from people's expectations. Each to their own. The majority still find this drama soooo good thus is the TOP 3 money making dramas of 2025 for Tencent.

I agree. This was supposed to be a FL centric drama but they rewrote it to balance out both leads to be equal.

This drama got my heart from the get go, the first scene, how they introduced the leads, the tone, and plot was epic already.

I agree. ZYR kills it in here like never before, too bad, BSE acts the same as she has in all previous dramas, actually, worse, like you said. She has one face in here: that big eyed look for every scene.
