Yep! It's his courtesy name while Song Mo it's how he is called name by close friends and family! The female lead also has that (and all nobles of that time) Shou Gu ( name) and Dou Zhao (courtesy name).
Pretty sure it's the reverse -- in the first life, he thought the culprit was Prince Qing, who told ML he'd targeted…
That was the Crown Prince not Prince Qing! In his first life, he was working together with Prince Qing to kill the emperor & crown prince and help enthrone him! Because, unlike this life, back then he didn't know the king's intentions and I am sure he blamed him for his uncle's death...Which led to his collision with Prince Qing and their plan of treason/enthronement...Prince Qing was the son of the 2nd current empress while the Crown Prince was the offspring of the previous empress who died so for him to become king both the emperor and crown prince had to be eliminated! Song Mo probs helped him just so he could take his "revenge"...But as we saw later on in ep 1 Prince Qing turned on him and the Eunuch came with the order to claim his and the Ding army's lives...Like a tool with no more use...This makes me believe Prince Qing and the empress to be behind it...
This drama is truly the new dark horse btw!! The director tho brilliant is usually someone who works on mini-cdrama, and this is his 1st full-length series. The series is also not S/S+ rank meaning the funding and production of the drama wasn't as high...And yet this series has managed to crack 28k heat index and to rise to #1- #2 in the drama list overall this week!! Whoever decided to invest in this show was truly smart and I hope this will bring more opportunities to both the director & the cast!! I hope this drama can keep it's shine and keep being just as satisfying to watch as ep1!!
For a better understanding of the heat index: It measures the engagement and popularity of the drama. It takes into account the video views, search, and overall engagement. Heat Index can only be compared within networks, not across networks. For Tencent a drama has some popularity will reach 20k. A drama that reaches 28k is well known and really popular. A drama that reached 30k can be considered a super popular and successful drama.
Btw about the ending...I actually have high hopes!! We already know Novel is a HE and having watched 3 of the Director's old works which are mini cdrama but very well made (Familiar Stranger, Provoke & Butterflied Lover) with happy endings I think we are in good hands here!! I really hope they break the SE/Open ending streak!!
He’s also the director for Familiar Stranger! one of the best mini dramas IMO
Familiar Stranger and Butterflied lover actually! Both are great mini cdrama! Even tho I usually don't invest in those this director made me >< I am glad to see him work with bigger productions now!!
Btw seeing Xia Zhi Guang here after watching him in The Spirealm and knowing he is booked and busy now makes me so happy >< I am also enjoying his monk/childhood friend/strategist character here a lot! Cannot wait to see what more he has in store for us!
Most gripping drama I have seen in a while!! I am a big sucker for this genre of cdrama I must say >< Btw after watching the ep 12-13 teasers, it seems we are up for more angst and tension. There is not one dull moment in this show, and the pace is truly exceptional, too!! I cannot wait for our couple to marry and become a formidable duo!! Based on the current timeline's events and that of the novel's I think we can expect their marriage around ep19-20 ^^
Now some speculations and observations from the eps we've seen so far: It's already evident how FL's new choices have started to change the future (for the better) and on today's ep we even got to confirm that Ji Yong(monk) has also retained his memories...But unlike our FL he doesn't seem to care much about it and only focuses on his target...This makes me worry about him clashing with our main couple in the future... As for the emperor covering Duke Ding's case, it really makes me think the suspect could be either one of the princes (probs Prince Qing) or the empress...? It would also make for a nice twist knowing how our ML was misled, used, and betrayed by Prince Qing in the previous life to avenge his uncle only to find out it was them who did it...
I started this drama with zero expectations after being in a cdrama drought for a while (I didn't seem to like any currently airing ones), and yet this has been so gripping from episode 1!! I love this!! I just hope it can keep its strong beginning to the end!!
Coming from X and Liu Yuning's interview, saying this broke me more: "I've heard stories that a lot of dogs will run away from home if they're about to pass away; they don't want to die in front of their family. If I were Yan Zijing reaching the end of my life, I wouldn't want her to see me so frail and miserable."
I have yet to see the ending, but seeing others' comments, it's pretty obvious it's SE with Yan Zi Jing dying, right? Oh man, the last drama I saw this year with a satisfying happy ending has to be The Rise of Ning. All others were either open or sad. TT, what happened this year, dear directors?! I will definitely be continuing this tho since I have been liking the story so far but maybe not right now...Each drama has it's time and I am not in the mood to feel gloomy TT
Btw what is everyone watching after this?? I have run out of airing cdrama options lol Tho I still have Kdrama and BL to watch tho...
The way I have stopped on ep 24 and waiting for the ending before continuing this...Please not another heartache!! Give me that happy ending...Also avoiding spoilers on twitter it's close to impossible lmao I constantly try to dodge them like dodging bullets 😭
Some Cnetz said that the director has filmed two different endings, but i don't really understand what does it…
Let me guess...The real drama having the sad ending and then a happy ending as special to please the fans...I HATE when they do that TT Can't they just give us the happy ending? Most cdrama this year have had an open/sad ending!! Spare uss
Depends on what u call a. Happy ending 😜...For some it is ...for some it isn't ....Watch it then decide it…
Honestly it's happy ending from all scopes possible...They both already confirmed their feeling and seem to remember the past (since he called her miaomiao and the look in her eyes changed). It's just that we didn't get to see their couple moments in the real world which made some annoyed ><
First of all, I don't care what others say for I LOVED the final ep!! It connected everything so beautifully and left an impact!! Sure an ending shot of both together would be even better but it isn't hard to imagine what comes after they reunite~ Overall this journey had its up and down moments, some eps were more exciting and well coordinated while others especially mid-way through left much to be desired...However, the last couple eps were better and enough to rejuvenate my love for this drama!!
Finally, this quote from the final ep really grabbed my attention! "When do people love the other one hundred percent? It is not when I love you more than I love myself, but only when I truly like myself and believe in myself, can I love you wholeheartedly and truly."
The lullaby ziqi's mother/resentful woman sang to him it's actually the lullaby his real mother sang to him in the real world and our poor author ml seems to have had a weak body which is why he let himself free through his novel writing...
OMG midway through ep 31 and what a big revelation that was!!
So miaomiao knew about the memory side effect that came with her powers it was just never shown to us until this moment!! She knew that's why she seemed spaced out and sad at times after that moment...Cause she knew every time she would use the power, she would lose a bit of herself and she might never complete the mission!! But she took the risk anyway to save everyone and herself from the demon's destructive array back in the capital...
Also, her denying to live, the game world before bringing the rest back to life...Girlie spent so much time in there and created such deep bonds that she ended up denying reality TT I mean what she gained in there maybe she lacked in real life...She made friends, found love, and had many new experiences...The world feels real and so do the characters in it...So twisted honestly...
