OMG!! So it's the mother who has the cultivator/magic skills background okay!! But based on the past few eps weren't they trying to hint that his mother was a demon from Qilin mountain?? Or was that a smoke screen and it will end up being his father who's the demon?? Cause if his mother comes from Mu fam (family of demon slayers) she can't be a demon obv...Anyway, thanks for the info! Hopefully, upcoming eps will solve the mystery^^

Yes I have realized that part now...But there are still reasons that make him no-qualified...He is a half demon and that powerful crescent weapon is supposed to eliminate demons...Also in today's ep Fuyi said that even tho it wasn't the Mu fam it would have to be someone with aencestord who practiced such skills...But since Mu sheng's family tree is not clear I guess 1 of his parents might have such a background.

Yeah...I really hope things will start clearing soon >< As for Miaomiao's striking resemblance to the Mu ancestor makes me think of her mom...Maybe there is some relation to the Mu family from her mother's side? And yes Mu Sheng's family tree is so complicated still TT I mean based on the flashbacks and bits we know so far we can speculate that his mother was the demon right? So that leaves his father to be the human...But with the whole bracelet plotline, it made me think the father was probs the marquis? But I guess that might not be the case now and someone else with a cultivation background is the dad?

Oh, maybe. But then again, the weapon was drawn on the scroll with the Mu ancestor, and the Mu family are demon slayers. Based on Mu Yao's words, within the Mu family, it was known that the weapon belonged to their family and was used to kill demons. But yeah, let's hope they can wrap this up in detail later.

However we also know he was later adopted by the Mu family and he has no blood relation to Mu yao & the Mu family right so no known family of his has practiced as caltivator? So how was he the one who inherited the crescent weapon? And wasn't that weapon supposed to eliminate demons? So how can he as half demon be the chosen one? Also, the Mu ancestor and og owner of the crescent weapon shown on the scroll is the spitting image of Miaomiao...
The fact that the father had the bracelet and still had a hole in his heart and left the witch with no memories…
On ep 21 we learn that the reason the father forgot was caused by the dowager(his sister) who used the memory forgeting spell on him to severe his love for the demon/witch living on Qilin mountain...As for the bracelet...It really doen't make sense for it to be an enchanted object as a love token...I think there might be more to it...

The Dowager was adopted by the Zhao family, so they are not related by blood! But yeah, relationship-wise, the Dowager is his aunt, and Roshi & Duan Yang are first cousins. However, even if they were blood-related, the union of cousins wasn't frowned upon back then so it wouldn't be weird either way...

They showed us a memory of the marquis seeing the young Mu Sheng and his father before he became part of the Mu family...And on today's ep we heard that momo tell the marquis that the wooden bracelet which his father held so dearly was given to him by a "witch"(tho in the drama it was said that the bracelet came from a goddess's hair) from the Qilin mountains (where Mu sheng used to live with his mother based on his flashbacks)... So what if the marquis's father is also mu sheng's bio dad and his mother is the supernatural being(goddess/witch/demon)?
Edit: And rn they mentioned that young Mu Sheng was considered the marquis's assassin cause he was spotted in the residence when the marquis died??(I guess this is where ruoshi's flashback was from about the young musheng...)
I found the first 3/4 of the series to be much stronger than the later 10 or so eps even though the fl and ml…
Idk for me it had a strong start then a bit of a slump in the mid part (where they were focusing on sub-plots which made it kinda boring) and then my interest picked up again after ep 29 and gained that spark back >< For me, this story overall is a solid 8.5-9! It sure had some imperfections like any other drama but the feeling it left me with was a very pleasing one^^

The first 2-3 eps felt a bit okayish for me too since even the FL was not all settled in, the plot felt a bit unstable and all over but after ep 4 for me it kind of took off and ever since I have been really liking the way it's heading!! Personally I like to focus at one cdrama at a time too (since they upload every day eps unlike kdrama) which is why i wanted to let this and Pearl girl to marinate more but after the 2 days break announcement of FoF I couldn't hold myself back and started this one today >< It's just the perfect genre for me! It ticks all my boxes and the contrast with my current watch made it even more appealing indeed! I don't even know how the 8 eps went by >< I will probably try to watch both since they serve very diff vibes anyway^^
Since FoF took a break for two days I decided to start this one finally after letting it marinate a bit and OMG WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE!! I am up to ep 8 rn and this has become my fave ongoing drama!! From plot to chemi, it's so gripping!! It's so bubbly and full of sweetness and yet it can also tag at your heart with some warm emotional scenes...It has it all, I am loving it!!

And as someone who also watches FoF tho the plot of that drama is gripping too for me at least when it comes to romance this one wins for sure but FoF is serving us top-tier bromance so it evens out hehe ><
And plot wise both serve very diff vibes and feels so I wouldn't compare them...And if anything I am glad they are so diff cause this makes it easier to watch at the same time ><
