Read the novel a long time ago so don't remember the details but I remember it was pretty good ending not like…
I see thank you! I have been following the translation on novelupdates and wait for it to finish but it's sadly taking a lot of time... I usually avoid mtl since the translation most often than not falls short of the original and that kinda ruins the experience for me... TT
This was a very refreshing historical cdrama that satisfied me overall, especially after the long drought we have experienced for the past months. The ending was realistic given the circumstances, so I have no complaints even tho it felt very bittersweet to watch. I do, however, wish to know from Novel readers the differences between the novel and drama endings! Does anyone know? And as for the extra ep...I can imagine why they went ahead and filmed it, the uproar it would have caused if it ended like that on ep 40 would be great I believe...The director's take however was pretty obvious in a symbolic way on the last ep... So I guess we can consider 40.5 the "happy ending" they and we deserved and got! Still, this is 100% recommended and a great watch that will keep you on the edge of your seat even in the last 15 min of the last ep! It was worth the ride!
It's mid at best... I would describe it as Sky castle/penthouse/Pyramide game from Walmart... A cheap imitation... As someone who watched up to ep 3 before dropping, the visuals are pretty and the budget is high. However the acting is subpar at best with the exception of some of the leads being good, the plot/script is badly written and all over the place with cringe lines... The editing could have also been better for some scenes... Just too artificial and bland... It's sad cause with better casting for some roles and better writers this could have been so much more!
lmaooo no way everyone hyped this up for it to be a total flop ???I was expecting something similar to Pyramid…
No way it can come near Pyramid Game... It's just a high budget/decent acting from most drama with no real plot and cringy lines... 3 eps in and I dropped it... I couldn't stand how boring and aimless it got...
2 eps in and yeah... This is a hot disaster and certainly not what I expected... High budget, decent/good acting but the directing/script and overall vibes of the series are so off I can't TT It felt like Sky Castle/Penthouse from Walmart...
BossNoeul chemi was literally what kept me going while watching LITA!! So, you bet I am very excited about this!! However, I would like to ask smth... For those who have read the novel, how is the plot?? The summary above is a bit... I just hope their project is good since we can already be assured about their chemi together!!
I am enthralled by this drama!! Currently on ep 10 and Liu Xu's archery scene gave me goosebumps and had me shed real tears!! Idk why but it got me so emotional and I felt such pride for her!!
Maybe you don't like slow start relationships? Anle and this one both have a very slow lead-up. I personally don't…
I don't think so... Actually I am a big fan of some other slow burn Cdrama like 10 Miles of Peach Blossoms, Love Like The Galaxy, The Sword and the Brocade, Story of minglan etc. As I said the issue with those two other dramas for me were the chemi of the actors and overal plot (not the slow burn particularly). WOH is up to date one of the best of it's genre for me and I think through the plot/directing the actors acting abilities shined... Also their chemi was awesome and very emotional...
Forced myself to watch up to ep 6 but I can't seem to make myself keep watching...Honestly the plot feels kinda flat and the editing is also not the best even tho the production and actors are good in their craft based on their past works I just can't seem to get into it... As for the couples chemi... Specifically for Gongjun like others have said the only dramas of his that I liked were WOH and Advance Bravely... Maybe he is better fit to act with other ML or non romance type of series like with action etc... Cause both Legend of Anle and this now fell flat for me... Even tho for an actor he is good and very expressive... Idk why that's the case...
It has been a while since I looked forward to the next episode in a Cdrama and had zero skips or move forwrds... I mean the novel this is adapted from was a well known gem to begin with but I am extra pleased with the drama result as well!! I love it!! After months of drought, finally, something good enough to peak once interest has dropped!!
If I hated Love for Love's Sake and Eighth Sense (wanna-be angsty BLs) could I still like this?
As someone who liked Love for Love's Sake and Eighth Sense but couldn't go past 4 eps of this one... You might like it i guess? Since our tastes must be reversed lol
the second couple is not worth watching it for, but I liked the show it was a pretty basic show though so I understand…
Yes it is. I was expecting it to be basic honestly ( i even like these type of smaller production slice of life series) it's just that this one for some reason completely lost me...Like it felt way too plain and nothing was good enough to keep me going...From the plot, to the chemi to the acting....
I was unable to feel anything for the main characters and the emotional disconnect made it so hard to watch- :(…
Same! Like with the 2nd couple I can at least see some tension between them and feel the chemi... For the main couple, they felt so stoic and no chemi between them whatsoever... Also the ML attidute in these first eps kept annoying me... The blank face, the foolish blabering and confused looks when others spoke... Like the script could have been written better... And by that i don't mean change his story... Like i don't mind "problematic" characters as long as they are written well and acted out properly...Not in a cringe and uninteresting way.....
I’m on ep 4 and feel like I’m forcing myself to watch this. TT It's honestly not that bad the acting is okay for the most part and the plot is nothing unique but not terrible... So idk what makes it such a hard watch...Compared to the main couple the 2nd couple's storyline looks more interesting and I can kinda feel the chemi...But even for them I don't feel like continuing...It's like the show overall cannot keep my interest...And it's not even about the plot per se since some of my favorite series have a calm plot with no need for too many things happening...
Any news about this one?? This is literally one of my first BL novels and all time faves!! And with the cast above this can really become the next big hit!! I really want it to come out soon TT
I am currently on ep 2 and so far it looks okay! Btw for those who have watched/read the manhua/donghua I wanted to ask... How are the 3 series related to one another? Like is the 2nd series 'Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Love in Pavilion" about their kid or the 2nd fox spirit sister? I am curious to know about the connections ><
