Is this in the first book? I haven't read that one yet starting this week.

But even if he did want to raise Khanin secretly I wouldn't think he'd risk a car crash. Even if he wanted to kill Khanin's mother and Charan's, that would be a pretty big risk because you couldn't count on the baby surviving the car wreck.

I have to admit though, the book is a horrible translation. I had to read some of the pages many times to figure out who was saying what since they didn't quote correctly.

Hi, could you please put a spoiler next time ? Just ruined all the fun for the people starting this show. Thank…
That is ridiculous. There will be people coming to this page 6 months and a year from now. Some people don't watch a series until all the episodes have dropped, while others might come here because they are looking for a show even years after the first run of TNP.

No one is going to wait to discuss the series until after it is over or several years after it's over.

Really get a grip. Just accept that if the show has already aired but you haven't seen it yet, you should wait until after you've seen it to avoid seeing spoilers.

That's the way everyone who goes to a TV show board acts. And I don't want to continue this conversation so if you're going to the next step is to block you.

So, Khanin does not know that his mother was also killed by the king, right?
It's unlikely that his mother was killed by the king. Charan's mother was killed by the king. The saboteurs of the car aren't identified as far as I know even in the book, but my guess would be Wasin as opposed to the king.

The King had a vested interest in keeping Khanin alive so he could participate in the competition someday. Even if he wanted to separate Khanin from his mother I doubt he would have taken the chance on a car wreck which could have killed both of them.

Then go leave a nastygram to the other hundred people discussing yesterday's episode.

Once the episode is over it is no longer a spoiler.

I am very careful to label posts of mine that actually are spoilers.

Everyone is talking about what happened in the show yesterday. Why choose my post for your comment?

Now I do carefully post things as spoilers when I'm comparing the show to the book and I've even taken to putting a regular post first and saying don't read this because it's comparing the show to the book If you don't want to be spoiled.

But anything that happened in a previous episode is fair game.

How could you miss the hundreds of posts here talking about what happened to Chakri?

My recommendation is if you don't want to hear what happened in a previous show don't come here until you already watched the episode.

All this thing about making Ava a strong and independent woman and in just a minute an arrow hit her to end up…
That still wouldn't make her 6'4 and 200 lb. Women's independence doesn't necessarily make us as big!

Just in case anyone is wondering who actually won the archery competition It was Ava. There was a flash of the final score on the hologram screen in the palace just before the connection went dead. If you blinked you would have missed it.

It said Ava 80, Khanin 75, Ramil 75.

The most perfect outcome in this would be if they abolished the monarchyBut thats obviously not gonna happen so…
It depends on whether they follow the book on this or not.

I dont know but when a 'good' character dies i dont feel bad for them.. i think it's liberating that they wont…
Wasin wasn't really a good character in the series but much more evil in the book. Both the king and Wasin were way more evil.

The way this series is going I can't tell if I'm right about anything anymore. Either way we're going to find out next Saturday.

I think by the time Mira showed up the danger was over so there was no longer a need for a piggyback ride.

Fencing book vs Archery seriesIn the book the sabotage didn't happen during the archery competition. I don't remember…
I'm not exactly sure about that. But it is a theory that I have.

In the series Wasin says that his son would be around the same age as Khanin if he was alive.

So if the timeline is right that means that by the time of the accident Wasin's wife was already dead and therefore he would have incentive to want to sabotage the car.

I haven't read the first book only the second. I'm going to start reading the first book this week and then reread the second. Maybe I'll have more ideas once I've done that.

I dunno. In the very next second she saved Khanin from being killed by an arrow. And the piggyback ride was just for speed.

By the time Mira arrived Ava walked out of the woods with just a little help.

She's as badass as a girl can be when you're fabulously wealthy living in a palace.

There is a picture on TikTok of Ballchon wearing a TNP blanket in Q70. Plus what Khanin said in the coming attractions leaves room to believe that Chakri didn't die.

But if he was seen in later Qs that at least leaves the possibility that more of Chakri's story will be told whether in present time or in flashbacks. We'll have to see.

does he really die??
We don't know yet. There's some indications that he hasn't but you never know where they're going with this series.

I did.
They have veered so much from the book that we could expect almost anything.

Regardless whatever happens, King or no king, it has to be more fair and egalitarian than the current rain of terror.

Title The Next Prince Spoiler
Sabotage at the archery competition, book versus seriesBelow is my spoiler on how the sabotage in episode 12 plays…
Fencing book vs Archery series

In the book the sabotage didn't happen during the archery competition. I don't remember there being an archery competition in the book. It happened during the fencing competition.

In the book the same terrorists that Charan fought in London and Davichmetha descended on the fencing venue. The royals and companions present found security and scattered to safety. There was no viewing of the competition from the Royal Palace.

In the series armed men go after Khanin, Ramil and Ava using arrows during the archery competition. They are able to locate them using the GPS devices (inside pearl pins) that all three of them were wearing courtesy of Prince Wasin.

Confrontation in the Royal Palace (Book) versus marina (series)

After Charan and Khanin escaped the fencing arena they went to the Royal Palace where the king was alone in his study grabbing documents proving that he was embezzling goods from the other three territories.

All of the events that happened at the marina in the series occurred in the King's study and his front office in the book.

Tharin and Chakri are not present at the king's office during the confrontation in the book

In the marina scene Tharin, Chakri and Wirun were present. In the book Tharin and Chakri are not on site and only appear at the very end of the confrontation with extra security. Wirun is outside the study doors with additional guards trying to keep people from busting in.

Wasin's wife

In the book Wasin's wife was not from Assavadevathin as far as we know, was not related to Wirun and did not have lung cancer, or die in a hospital.

Mine dust did not affect Meenanakarin

There was no discussion with the other three princes about mine safety. Mine dust did not affect Meenanakarin, or at least that wasn't mentioned in the book. And in fact Jay and his family moved away from Assavadevathin to Meenanakarin to escape the dust. So that's a huge plot hole in the series.

Death of Wasin's wife in the book

Air pollution did not affect Meenanakarin, poverty did. For years the king had been embezzling goods from the three other territories, selling them, and then using the funds to maintain the supremacy of Assavadevathin.

When Wasin's wife found out about this she confronted the king and he responded by giving her a pair of cement boots and drowning her while she was pregnant with a son.

The king does not have lung cancer in the book

In the series Wasin says that the king has lung cancer from living in Assavadevathin. He does not have lung cancer in the book. The reason that the king was sick is because Wasin had been poisoning the bird's nest soup that he'd been bringing him for years.

Thatdanai is on the scene

In the book Thatdanai arrives at the palace right around the same time that Wasin does. He hides in the outer office recording Wasin's confession to turn over to the police or the court system at a later date.

Charan does not shoot Wasin in the hand

In the book Thatdanai comes out of his hiding place and shoots Wasin in the hand to keep him from shooting the king. In the series Charan does this.

The King's butler, Wirun, is not a traitor

In the book Wirun is not related to Wasin's wife. And he never turns on the king. In fact when Wasin breaks into the king's study several guards and Wirun are guarding the door. Some of the guards are killed and Wirun is dragged away by Wasin's men.

Wirun doesn't shoot the King, Wasin does. And the king was much more gravely injured. Wasin shot him in the back and after that the king was paralyzed and was never able to speak again.

Fencing Instructor Joe

In the series Wasin says that fencing instructor Joe was his idea, because he needed to separate Khanin from Charan In order to kill him, after being unsuccessful in London and Davichmetha. I don't remember this explanation from the book.

The king is not above the law

In the series The King says because he's the king he's beyond the law. In the book he winds up in a prison hospital torture chamber designed by him. It remains to be seen how this will be handled in the series.

Vedish does not kill Wasin, he commits suicide

In the book right after Thatdanai shoots Wasin in the hand to prevent him from killing the king Chakri and Tharin arrive with reinforcements. One of the reinforcements shoots Wasin a second time, and then they go to check on Khanin.

With Wasin's last breath he grabs a gun from one of the reinforcements and shoots the king in the back. He then presses the gun to his temple while shouting, "See you in hell, Uncle."

Not a hair on Chakri's head was hurt in the book.

Chakri doesn't even arrive on the scene till the end of the confrontation. In the series he is apparently shot by Wasin but we don't see any blood. I do not believe he's dead because Khanin says in the coming attractions, "Chakri, I am here to see you about what Prince Wasin said, can you tell me about that?"

Who says that to a dead guy? I think the cemetery scene is to throw you off from the dialogue which they have done in other coming attractions in TNP. My guess is the cemetery scene is Charan visiting his mother's grave, and possibly Khanin visiting his mom's grave too.

What happened to Charan and Khanin's mothers?

In the series Wasin tells Charan that the king is responsible for his mother's death but doesn't elaborate. This is what happened as described in the book.

When he was a baby Khanin's mother took him to visit her family in Phuchongpisut for a few days (she and Ramil's father were cousins). Charan's mother Chita and Thatdanai were the accompanying Royal guards plus a driver. At the time she was the head of the Pitakdeva Royal guards.

The car was ambushed enroute and Khanin's mother was fatally wounded, but Khanin survived. So the king summoned Thatdanai to take him to England and raise him there. To make It appear that Thatdanai and Khanin also died in the crash, the king had a villager and his son burned beyond recognition and thrown into the car.

The king didn't want any witnesses to his subterfuge so the driver and Charan's mother were also killed. Thatdanai didn't want to leave Chita alone but he had no reason to believe that the Pitakdeva Royal guards wouldn't assist her. Instead they killed her.

So Khanin and Charan both lost their mothers on the same day. Not something you really want to have in common with your lover. 😢

Pretty sure he didn't. Look at what Khanin said to Chakri in the coming attractions. Sounds like he was visiting…
I think that was Charan visiting his mother's grave. The quote in the coming attractions is: "Chakri, I am here to see you about what Prince Wasin said, can you tell me about that?" Who says that to a dead guy? Not like he'd get an answer.

Title The Next Prince Spoiler
Most likely not dead. In the coming attractions Khanin is asking Chakri a question about what Wasin said. I don't…
Other people here have also said that Ballchon was present for the Q70 filming.

I can't tell you anything with absolute certainty because the series isn't necessarily following the book but the quote in the coming attractions was: "Chakri, I am here to see you about what Prince Wasin said, can you tell me about that?" Doesn't sound dead to me.

In addition there was absolutely no blood when Chakri got shot. There was blood when Wasin was grazed on the hand with a bullet, and also when the king and Wasin we're shot in the torso. Are you trying to tell me they ran out of fake blood for Chakri? Not with that budget!
