Oh, the irony of calling other people “clueless idiots” while swallowing every manipulated clip and out-of-context…
Thank you for this. I watched some of the videos that came out after Yu Menglong's death and I was shocked that people could actually believe such nonsense. And based on such flimsy "evidence" people are trying to destroy two actors in order to find someone to blame. It saddens me almost as much as YML's death.
I just dropped this drama at ep 6 and for pretty much the same reasons you did. I found the ML/FL pairing distasteful as they seemed more like brother/sister. I didn't like either of the FL leads. I did like the message of not taking your revenge because you'll end up just like the murderer. When I found out the murderer kills the FL's mother I knew I didn't want to stick around for that.

From some comments I thought I would hate the mother all the way through and Chu Chu from when she lied in court, but I didn't. This drama portrayed most of the characters as human, just like Chu Chu said. I loved the character growth in almost all characters (criminal excepted, of course). The one character I most loathed right to the end was Tao Jie. Througout the drama I thought she really looked up to the criminal and believed he was innocent. I was appalled when I found out she'd been a victim and was so twisted in her thinking that she gave in to him and helped him.
I thought I would have a difficult time watching some scenes from what I'd read, but they managed to convey what happened without showing much detail which I was appreciative of and thought was excellent filmmaking. Really glad I finally watched it.
The difference between this drama and other CDramas that I think are really great is amazing. I have seen very few dramas that could even come close to how well this was filmed, how well all the actors played their characters and how they managed to make this a gut-wrenching drama while also making it uplifting. Few more thoughts in spoiler.
Major plots that are in novel but not in drama :-1. Between 2008 and 2018, Fan Jiancheng s'xual'y as'aulted nine…
Thank you for the details you gave that were in the novel, but not the drama. Some were minor, but I wish #9 had been in the movie like in the novel. I haven't read the novel, but when I watched that scene I was waiting for that to happen and was disappointed when nothing really came of it except that they supported him, which I was happy about.
and thank god it had a happy ending after the rollercoaster of emotions
I agree. After a few episodes I had to spoil myself about the ending and I'm glad I did. I don't think I could have handled it if I hadn't known that the criminal would finally be declared guilty.
one of the most real and hard cdrama that I’ve watched! extremely sad, frustrating, hoping heartbreaking, deep,…
Your words are the same thoughts I had. I was prepared for it to be difficult to watch, but I wasn't prepared for how hopeful and inspiring it also was. One of the best dramas I've watched in my few years watching CDramas.
I loved her but she has been losing weight nonstop! and they keep bringing that up and she keeps saying the same…
I was kind of surprised that she responded playfully to the host who told her she needs to eat properly and not just drink water. It doesn't sound like she takes her health that seriously.
That weight was for Marry My Husband and she really looked very thin. It doesn't say what weight she got down to for this drama but judging by the picture from the previous article she did look about as thin as in MMH. I can't imagine it's a good idea to be getting that thin over and over again. And I'd be pretty worried if I were hearing ringing in my ears.
Thanks for reading 💜 I'm watching it on the official platform: https://www.iq.com
Just wanted to add a little info for you as you mentioned the lack of KDramas on Iqiyi. Viki has a lot of KDramas, but Netflix seems to be the platform to subscribe to if that's what you like. It's pricey if you want to watch without ads, but not too bad if you don't mind ads.
Disney and Hulu also have a fair number of KDramas from what I can tell.

Yes. The government has to keep its citizens in control!
