Apparently:- The accusations against Ji Soo were never officially recognized as true by any court.- There was…
"This cultural dynamic is difficult to understand (and accept) from a Western perspective, where the hierarchy of moral gravity is very different. But in South Korea, it strongly shapes how scandals are handled and how careers recover. That’s why Ji Soo’s situation is treated much more harshly socially, despite the lack of any legal conviction. Sadly."
When I read your comment my brain was kind of frying until I came to this part. It really is difficult to understand another country's culture if you haven't been raised in it. What can seem very wrong to me, as a westerner, may not seem very wrong to people from another culture and vice versa. Still it is sad, as you say, that some people can make a comeback from convicted crimes and others have to leave the country even when there's been no conviction.
What a person looks like should never be used for hate. Calling someone names based on their physical appearance is something teachers/parents teach their children not to do. How did so many people not learn this lesson?
I don't know this actor and have never seen him in any drama, but I feel so sorry for him now. Judging by his personality this attack is probably hitting him really hard. I can only pray that he is able to move past this. I'm thankful that his costars are supporting him.
Why does it say there are currently 9 comments, but I only see 3? When someone deletes a comment shouldn't the number of comments change to reflect that? So where did the other 6 comments go? Is MDL mathing wrong or am I hallucinating?
Yes. Here's a short telling about him and a link to the drama the fan told him was released. It has a low rating here, but I watched it and really liked it. It's upsetting to see actors and all the associated personnel losing jobs to AI.
I saw in Instagram https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbTHTpusFNf/?igsh=MWxpaXpubnF6M3YxcQ== that he has only 700-800$…
I just watched Marcus Here and he showed an interview with Luo Zheng. It said that the agency he signed with for ten years when he was young and didn't carefully read the contract. They deducted lots of arbitraty costs such as studio depreciation, staff travel and even light bulbs. He tried to terminated the contract and ended up in a lengthy and expensive legal dispute which he only cleared in Jan 2024. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zB8uzU7fRic. It made me upset hearing about how much he earned from acting and how much he actually made after the studio got finished ripping him off.
I still don't understand why series like this one and Wu are being marketed as bromance instead of shounen-ai.…
Can you explain how this is different from BL? Looking at the synopsis and poster I thought it would be, but didn't see it in the tags, just bromance. I'm not familiar with the Japanese terms you used and had to look them up, but I'm still a little confused as I don't watch BL and I'm not familiar with different aspects of it.
I checked this out because of your review. All through it I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop (I mostly watch CDramas and you know they don't like people to be happy at the end). But what dropped was a sweet ML showing the FL that she is so much more than she thought she was. I especially liked how Gaku didn't turn into a psycho (as it seemed he would and again, CDramas!) but finally realized the truth and wished them happy. I just love finding different, quirky, sweet dramas. Thank you for taking the time to review it so others can find it, too.
